PORT ORANGE, FLA. — The local engineering firm Eastport QLH has purchased a 10,000-square-foot warehouse from Great Falls, Va.-based Environics USA for $925,000. The property, which sits on 1.17 acres of land at 4401 Eastport Parkway in Port Orange, will be used as Eastport QLH’s new headquarters. NEW YORK CITY — Several green projects are reaching completion at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York City, and several more are slated to begin. The Perry Avenue Building, the nation’s first multi-story green industrial facility, is just one of the projects that was recently completed. The $25 million, 89,000-square-foot building features several green aspects, including building-mounted wind turbines, rooftop solar panels, reflective roofing, use of recycled rain water in toilets, recycled building materials, high-efficiency lighting fixtures, natural ventilation systems and special accommodation for bicyclists and low-emission vehicles. The facility is on track to receive LEED Gold certification. In addition, several new projects have been announced. Duggal Visual Solutions is converting a one-story, 30,000-square-foot building into a two-story, 60,000-square-foot LEED Platinum certified facility to manufacture eco-friendly products and become a laboratory for new sustainable products. Known as the Duggal Greenhouse, the $7 million project is slated to begin construction late spring. Duggal is funding $5 million for the project and the City is providing $2 million for basic building improvements, including a new roof and sprinkler system. GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS — The former Blue Ribbon Delivery building, a 10,000-square-foot industrial property located at 1314 Oakdale Rd. in Grand Prairie, has been sold. Situated on 2.5 acres near DFW International Airport, the facility comprises 8,500 square feet of warehouse space and 1,500 square feet of office space. Pete and Drew Richardson of Henry S. Miller Brokerage represented the seller, Blue Ribbon Delivery. The buyer, Houston-based Gajeske Inc., was represented by Chuck Precopia of ART Properties. The buyer plans to utilize the space as a storage and distribution facility, as well as for training. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
WAUWATOSA, WIS. — Milwaukee-based RFP Commercial has brokered the sale of a 65,240-square-foot industrial building, located in Wauwatosa, for $2.4 million. The property is situated at 12121 W. Freerick St. RFP’s Paul McBride, Paul Flood and Scott Revolinski represented the seller. Both parties were undisclosed.
FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. — Lee & Associates of Michigan has completed the sale of a 47,214-square-foot industrial property, located at 38955 Hills Tech Dr. in Farmington Hills. Jon Savoy, John Khami and Kevin Brady, all of Lee & Associates, represented the seller, NTH Investment Co. The buyer was Michigan Five Office LLC. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
HOUSTON — Grubb & Ellis has arranged an approximately 144,620-square-foot industrial lease at Portwall Distribution Center in Houston. Cadeco Industries will occupy space in two buildings located at 530-542 Portwall St. the company will occupy 81,800 square feet in one building and 62,820 square feet in the other. Doug Nicholson and John Nicholson of Grubb & Ellis’ Houston office represented Cadeco Industries. The landlord, locally based Warehouse Associates, provided in-house representation. Terms of the lease were not released.
JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — AJC Logistics has leased 52,500 square feet of warehouse space from Cabot Properties for an undisclosed price. The property is located in the Alta Lakes Commerce Center at 11804 Cabot Commerce Circle in Jacksonville. Aaron Zarle of Jacksonville–based Grubb & Ellis|Phoenix Realty Group represented the tenant, and the firm’s John Richardson and Bryan Bartlett, along with JJ Conners of Jax Industrial Management, represented the landlord.
MARYLAND — Rockville, Md.-based Scheer Partners has secured lease renewals for four Maryland biotech companies totaling more than 136,000 square feet. CoGenesys has renewed its 48,000-square-foot lease at 9410 Key West Ave. in Rockville. Robert Scheer of Scheer Partners represented the tenant in the transaction. GenVec has signed a 42,900-square-foot lease with RREEF for space at 65 W. Watkins Mill Rd. in Gaithersburg, Md. Scheer’s Adam Nachlas and Matt Brady represented the landlord. Nabi has renewed its 25,000-square-foot lease at 12276 Wilkins Ave. in Rockville. Scheer and Brady represented the tenant. MedImmune has renewed its 21,000-square-foot lease at 55 W. Watkins Mill Rd. in Gaithersburg. Nachlas represented the undisclosed landlord, and Brady represented MedImmune.
GLENDALE HEIGHTS AND JOLIET, ILL. — Chicago-based Paine/Wetzel • ONCOR International has brokered two Chicagoland industrial transactions. In Glendale Heights, the firm arranged the purchase of a 68,422-square-foot industrial building located at 1966 Quincy Ct. John Stump and Phil Reiff of Paine/Wetzel represented the buyer, Matrix International, which is relocating from its previous space in Elk Grove Village, Ill. Paul Montes and Eric Spiess of Inland Real Estate represented the undisclosed seller. In Joliet, Paine/Wetzel brokered the sale of a 65,000-square-foot flex building located at 300 Caterpillar Dr. The facility features 40,000 square feet of office space and 25,000 square feet of warehouse space. It was purchased by Joliet Township High School Board of Education. The undisclosed seller was represented by Leslie Spinner and Jeffrey Girling of Paine/Wetzel.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. — Advance Scientific Enterprises, dba Bensons’ Import, has acquired a 20,440-square-foot light industrial building, which is located at 7442 Vincent Circle in Huntington Beach. U4T LLC sold the property for $2.7 million. Bensons’ Import sells quality bamboo, bamboo poles and bamboo fencing, as well as other products. JR Williamson of NAI Capital’s Newport Beach represented the buyer; Mike Bouma of Voit Commercial Brokerage represented the seller in the transaction.
