HOUSTON — Grubb & Ellis has arranged an approximately 144,620-square-foot industrial lease at Portwall Distribution Center in Houston. Cadeco Industries will occupy space in two buildings located at 530-542 Portwall St. the company will occupy 81,800 square feet in one building and 62,820 square feet in the other. Doug Nicholson and John Nicholson of Grubb & Ellis’ Houston office represented Cadeco Industries. The landlord, locally based Warehouse Associates, provided in-house representation. Terms of the lease were not released.

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — AJC Logistics has leased 52,500 square feet of warehouse space from Cabot Properties for an undisclosed price. The property is located in the Alta Lakes Commerce Center at 11804 Cabot Commerce Circle in Jacksonville. Aaron Zarle of Jacksonville–based Grubb & Ellis|Phoenix Realty Group represented the tenant, and the firm’s John Richardson and Bryan Bartlett, along with JJ Conners of Jax Industrial Management, represented the landlord.
MARYLAND — Rockville, Md.-based Scheer Partners has secured lease renewals for four Maryland biotech companies totaling more than 136,000 square feet. CoGenesys has renewed its 48,000-square-foot lease at 9410 Key West Ave. in Rockville. Robert Scheer of Scheer Partners represented the tenant in the transaction. GenVec has signed a 42,900-square-foot lease with RREEF for space at 65 W. Watkins Mill Rd. in Gaithersburg, Md. Scheer’s Adam Nachlas and Matt Brady represented the landlord. Nabi has renewed its 25,000-square-foot lease at 12276 Wilkins Ave. in Rockville. Scheer and Brady represented the tenant. MedImmune has renewed its 21,000-square-foot lease at 55 W. Watkins Mill Rd. in Gaithersburg. Nachlas represented the undisclosed landlord, and Brady represented MedImmune.
GLENDALE HEIGHTS AND JOLIET, ILL. — Chicago-based Paine/Wetzel • ONCOR International has brokered two Chicagoland industrial transactions. In Glendale Heights, the firm arranged the purchase of a 68,422-square-foot industrial building located at 1966 Quincy Ct. John Stump and Phil Reiff of Paine/Wetzel represented the buyer, Matrix International, which is relocating from its previous space in Elk Grove Village, Ill. Paul Montes and Eric Spiess of Inland Real Estate represented the undisclosed seller. In Joliet, Paine/Wetzel brokered the sale of a 65,000-square-foot flex building located at 300 Caterpillar Dr. The facility features 40,000 square feet of office space and 25,000 square feet of warehouse space. It was purchased by Joliet Township High School Board of Education. The undisclosed seller was represented by Leslie Spinner and Jeffrey Girling of Paine/Wetzel.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. — Advance Scientific Enterprises, dba Bensons’ Import, has acquired a 20,440-square-foot light industrial building, which is located at 7442 Vincent Circle in Huntington Beach. U4T LLC sold the property for $2.7 million. Bensons’ Import sells quality bamboo, bamboo poles and bamboo fencing, as well as other products. JR Williamson of NAI Capital’s Newport Beach represented the buyer; Mike Bouma of Voit Commercial Brokerage represented the seller in the transaction.
MEDLEY, FLA. — J. Jeffrey Robertson of NorthMarq Capital’s Miami Lakes, Fla., office arranged a $3.5 million mortgage for the 66,547-square-foot Aero Maintenance Group building in Medley. The 10-year loan carries a 25-year amortization schedule. Aetna provided financing for the loan.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Hackensack, N.J.-based NAI James E. Hanson has brokered the subleasing of 208,899 square feet of distribution space at 1203 Cranbury South River Rd. in South Brunswick. The facility features 32-foot clear ceiling heights, 25 trailer parking stalls, 35 tailgates and ESFR sprinkler systems. NAI’s Kenneth Lundberg, along with Joel Hausman of Fairfield, Conn.-based Colonial Realty, represented the tenant, Melissa & Doug, a designer and manufacturer of educational toys and children’s products. Melissa & Doug will relocate from its current facility in Connecticut. Dennis McConnell of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the sub-landlord, Aeropharm Technology.
HOUSTON — Parsippany, N.J.-based B&G Foods has renewed its lease for 151,966 square feet of warehouse space for an additional 5-year term. The space is located at Suite 140 of 7150 Business Park Dr. in Houston. Edward Bane of Houston-based Holt Lunsford Commercial represented the landlord, Des Moines, Iowa-based Principal Financial Group. B&G Foods was represented by Mike Hill of Michael Hill Properties.
SANDSTON, VA. — Hewlett Packard Co. has signed a lease renewal for 800,000 square feet of warehouse space in White Oak I Technology Park. The property is located at 7001 Technology Blvd. in Sandston. HP uses the property as a distribution center. N. Dean Meyer of Thalhimer’s Richmond, Va., office brokered the transaction.
DOSWELL, VA. — Diamond Hill Plywood Co. has signed a 150,000-square-foot lease for space in a Doswell warehouse. Terms of the lease were not released.
