TAMPA, FLA. — Dealer Tire has renewed its 49,286-square-foot lease for space at a Tampa warehouse with its landlord, Exeter-11316 N. 46 Street LLC. The warehouse space is located at 11316 N. 46th St., Unit A. Terms of the lease were not disclosed. Rian Smith and Chris Sass of Cushman & Wakefield’s Tampa office and Mike Davis of the firm’s San Jose, Calif., office brokered the deal.

OBETZ, OHIO — Kenco Logistic Services has signed a lease for approximately 1.17 million square feet of industrial space within KIRCO’s Centerpoint Business Park located in Obetz. Kenco will move into an existing 701,808-square-foot building within the multi-phased development in March, with plans to complete a 464,207-square-foot expansion of the facility by June. The building includes 32-foot clear ceiling heights, parking for 300 trailers and 115 dock doors. Dan Wendorf in the Columbus, Ohio, office of Jones Lang LaSalle and Dan McGillicuddy in the Chicago office of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Kenco in negotiations. The landlord, KIRCO, was represented in-house in the transaction. Additional terms of the lease were not disclosed.

OLDMANS TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Cranbury, N.J.-based Matrix Development Group has sold a 1 million-square-foot development parcel, located within Gateway Business Park in Oldmans Township, to National Freight Industries for the development of new industrial space for the logistics provider. Development plans were not released at the time of the sale. Gateway Business Park is being developed by Matrix as a public-private partnership. Upon completion, it will contain 3.5 million square feet of manufacturing, warehouse and distribution space. Tenants already located within the park include Goya Foods, JE Berkowitz Glass, Garden State Freezers and Manfredi Cold Storage. Three development parcels remain for sale at Gateway: one approved for 100,000 square feet of construction, a second approved for 263,000 square feet and a third approved for up to 705,901 square feet.

SECAUCUS, N.J. — Major League Baseball has held the grand opening for its new television network studio in Secaucus. Known as the MLB Network, the all-baseball channel will operate out of MLB Network Studios, which is located within locally based Hartz Mountain Indutstries’ Harmon Cove industrial/flex development. The MLB leased 142,271 square feet from Hartz Mountain in 2008, and spent the year renovating the space to accommodate television production. Construction included two new studios and the conversion of the entire facility for hi-definition broadcasts. In addition, the street leading to the studio was recently designated MLB Network Plaza. The MLB Network officially launched on January 1 in 50 million homes.

BOSTON — Construction had topped out for an 86,000-square-foot addition to Genzyme’s Allston Landing biomanufacturing facility, located along the Charles River in Boston. The addition, which was designed by ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge, will add space for manufacturing and support functions. It will also include the construction of a new 26,000-square-foot underground cogeneration plant that will generate steam for plans operations, as well as generate electricity. ARC served as project architect for the plant’s original construction in 1991 and, since then, has designed more than 1 million square feet of new construction and renovation projects for Genzyme since then. Completion is scheduled for spring 2010. General contracting services are being provided by Turner Construction Co.

LAS VEGAS — Phoenix Recycling Technologies has leased 75,000 square feet of industrial space at 4775 E. Cheyenne Ave. in Las Vegas. The 10-year lease is valued at $4.2 million. Jennifer Levine of Grubb & Ellis|Las Vegas represented the tenant; Xavier Wasiak, also of Grubb & Ellis|Las Vegas, represented the landlord, LV Cheyenne LLC, in the transaction.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA. — Iron Mountain has leased a 140,545-square-foot warehouse in the Virginia Gateway Distribution Center from Brandywine Distribution. Located at 2031 International Parkway in Stafford County, the center will eventually encompass four buildings totaling 500,000 square feet. Iron Mountain, a company that stores and digitizes public and private records, will move into its space at the end of the summer. John Dettleff of Grubb & Ellis’ Vienna, Va., office represented the tenant, and Rich McDaniel and Jeff Dowdell of CB Richard Ellis’s Fredericksburg, Va., office represented Brandywine.

NEWPORT, DEL. — Philadelphia-based Colliers Lanard & Axilbund (CLA) has brokered the sale of the former Sears distribution center located at 200 Sears Blvd. in Newport. The property comprises an approximately 251,912-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility situated on 12.5 acres within First State Industrial Park. The facility has been vacant since 2006. Mark Chubb and Larry Bergen of CLA represented the seller, Sears, and Andy McGhee, also of CLA, represented the buyer, J&J Langhorne Properties, which has already pre-leased the property to a third party. The acquisition price was undisclosed.
