PLAINFIELD, IND. — Dallas-based SWS, which specializes in the redistribution of supplies for retail chain restaurants, has signed a lease for 173,430 square feet of space within Building 100 of the Plainfield Distribution Center, which is located at 2150 Stanley Rd. in Plainfield. Chip Barnes and Matt Dickerson of Indianapolis-based NAI Olympia Partners represented the landlord, Republic Property Co., in lease negotiations. This spring, Republic Property Co. is scheduled to begin construction on the 446,500-square-foot Building 200 within the Plainfield Distribution Center.

KANSAS CITY, MO. — Minneapolis-based Malt-O-Meal Co. has signed a lease for 151,200 square feet of industrial space located at 1508 N. Chouteau in Kansas City’s Northeast industrial submarket. The company has plans to open a distribution facility for dry cereals at the new property. Ozburn-Hessey Logistics will be handling the distribution at the facility. Nathan Anderson of Kansas City-based Harbinger Property Group represented Malt-O-Meal in lease negotiations. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
GARLAND, TEXAS — Dallas-based TIG Real Estate Services has brokered the sale of a 3,984-square-foot industrial building located at 442 Action St. in Garland. TIG’s Ryan Wolcott and Michael Grant represented the seller, Primo’s Unlimited. The property was acquired by JKT Management LLC for an undisclosed amount.
CERRITOS, CALIF. — China-based Winco DWL Industries Co. has acquired a 44,172-square-foot industrial building, which is located at 12765 166th St. in Cerritos, for $4.8 million. The property features 3,638 square feet of office space, ample parking and immediate access to freeways 5 and 91. The buyer, which manufactures and imports kitchenware and tableware to restaurants and chefs worldwide, plans to use the property to house its West Coast distribution operations. Jonathan Fan of RE/MAX 2000 represented the buyer; Clyde Stauff of Colliers International represented the seller, Button Family Trust, in the transaction.
JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — Atlanta-based Georgia-Pacific’s consumer division has signed a lease with Johnson Development Associates of Spartanburg, S.C., to occupy a 546,000-square-foot warehouse in Westlake Industrial Park. The property is located in Jacksonville and will serve as the firm’s regional distribution center. Johnson designed the property as a speculative building on the 182-acre Westlake site. The park can accommodate nearly 2 million square feet of industrial space.
MARYVILLE, TENN. — Ceramaspeed has sold a 140,260-square-foot distribution facility in Maryville to Blount County for $2.7 million. The county plans to house highway and school maintenance departments in the warehouse after Ceramaspeed moves out in April. Brian Tapp and Maribel Koella of NAI Knoxville represented the seller.
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. — An entity of Palms Associates has sold a 45,926-square-foot industrial/flex building to the Norfolk Airport Authority for $5.6 million. The property is located adjacent to the Norfolk International Airport at 1429 Miller Store Rd. in Virginia Beach. R. Worth Remick, H. Ashton Williamson, III, and Blake Dozier of CB Richard Ellis’ Norfolk, Va., office represented the seller.
BENSENVILLE, ILL. — On behalf of developer Seefried Properties, Principle Construction Corp. has completed a 67,230-square-foot spec industrial building located at 371-375 Meyer Rd. in Bensenville. The distribution/warehouse facility, which is situated on an approximately 4.1-acre parcel, is 2 miles from the south cargo entrance of O’Hare International Airport. The precast building includes 28-foot clear ceiling heights, 26 loading docks, two drive-in doors, an ESFR sprinkler system and a parking area for 68 cars. Cornerstone Architects provided design services for the building. The estimated cost of completing the project was not disclosed.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Construction is underway on a 583,376-square-foot distribution warehouse in South Brunswick, which is being built to Silver LEED specifications by an investment client of BlackRock. Environmentally friendly features include a roof made of heat-reflecting material, energy-efficient insulation, T-5 lighting, low-flow plumbing fixtures and paint with low Volatile Organic Compound content. The warehouse will include 108 dock doors and a minimum 36-foot ceiling height.
HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Yellow Roadway Co. has signed a 44,975-square-foot lease with Matrix Development Group for space in its warehouse at 15 Quakerbridge Dr. in Hamilton Township. The firm will use the warehouse as a truck terminal and for office space. The warehouse includes 40,000 square feet of industrial space and 4,100 square feet of office space.
