BOSTON — Genzyme Corp., a biotechnology company, has signed an 82,490-square-foot lease renewal at 55 Cambridge Pkwy. in Boston. 55 Cambridge is a 275,000-square-foot, Class A office building, located on the Charles River. Joe Fallon of Cassidy Turley FHO represented the tenant in the transaction. John Miller of Lincoln Property Group represented the landlord, Invesco.
HOUSTON — R. Hassell has sold an 11,760-square-foot office building, located at 3550 Willowbend in Houston, to Omricron Electronics Corp. Lang Motes and Jane Holloway of ICO Commercial's Houston office represented the seller in the transaction. Noah Kruger and Andy Iverson of Jackson Cooksey's Houston office represented the buyer.
LEE BRANCH, ALA. — Birmingham, Ala.-based Church of the Highlands has purchased a 50,750-square-foot office building, located at 1701 Lee Branch Ln. in Lee Branch, from BBVA Compass for $4 million. The property was formerly the headquarters of AIG Baker Shopping Center Properties. Dan Lovell, Walter Brown and Sam Carroll of Graham & Co.'s Birmingham office represented the seller in the transaction.
STERLING HEIGHTS, MICH. — BAE Systems has opened a new $58 million office campus in Sterling Heights. The four-story office building houses 600 engineers, program managers and support staff. Construction began on the 164,000-square-foot building in February 2009 after the company acquired the site of the former TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. The office complex will serve as the engineering and development site for military ground vehicles. Detroit-based Walbridge was the general contractor for the project.
BRAINTREE, MASS. — Sentient Jet, a charter company, has signed a long-term lease for 20,783 square feet of office space at Braintree Executive Park in Braintree. Sentient is moving from 97 Libbey Parkway in Weymouth, Mass. and occupancy is scheduled for July 1. The company will occupy the entire fourth floor of 100 Grossman Dr., which will serve as its world headquarters. Tom Kent and Sean Lynch of the Boston office of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the owners, The Grossman Cos. and Dinosaur Capital Partners, in the transaction. They also represented the tenant.
GRAND PRAIRIE — Dry Force has purchased a 65,000-square-foot office/warehouse property, located at 1829 W. Shady Grove in Grand Prairie, which will serve as the company's new headquarters. The 4-building property features 34,000 square feet of office space and 31,000 square feet of warehouse space. The new headquarters will host approximately 50 employees. Pete Richardson and Drew Richardson from Cushman & Wakefield of Texas' Dallas office represented the buyer in the transaction.
DALLAS — Dallas-based Hudson Peters Commercial has been awarded the leasing assignment for the 145,365-square-foot Pyramids Office Tower, a Class A office building located at 9201 N. Central Expy. in Dallas. Sanober Syed and Cincha Ko stman of Hudson Peters Commercial are performing the marketing and leasing duties for the property. The office tower is owned and managed by Healthcare Realty.
SAN DIEGO – VivanTech has signed a 60-month lease for 10,100 square feet at Plaza 2020 in San Diego. The lease is valued at $1.4 million. The new space is located at 2020 Camino Del Rio North. VivanTech was represented by Scot Ginsburg and Damon Melda of Jones Lang LaSalle. The landlord, TA Associates Realty, was represented by Tony Russell and Richard Gonor, also of JLL.
LISLE, ILL. — Duke Realty Corp.'s Chicago office has completed construction of Navistar Inc.'s new corporate headquarters campus in Lisle. The project involved renovating 1.2 million square feet of interconnected buildings and new construction totaling 27,000 square feet. Crews upgraded electrical systems, refurbished building exteriors and added a 15,000-square-foot technology design center. The Navistar project was completed in 12 stages over a one-year period.
