HOLLISTER COMPLETES $5M RENOVATION ON BAKING FACILITY IN NEWARK

NEWARK, N.J. — Hollister Construction Services has completed a $5 million renovation for Damascus Bakeries’ 72,000-square-foot baking facility, located at 60 McClellan St. in Newark. Hollister gutted and rebuilt the existing facility, which was a former paper distribution center. The construction firm demolished warehouse partitions and equipment rooms and built ancillary rooms to support the baking operations. New offices, an employee locker room, break room and meeting room were also built. Damascus Bakery, a family-run, third-generation commercial baking company, had been located in Brooklyn before choosing to move to Newark.

WEEKS ROBINSON INKS 650,000 SF IN LEASES IN DALLAS AREA

DALLAS — Atlanta-based Weeks Robinson Properties, a real estate investment and development company, has signed eight lease transactions in the Dallas area totaling more than 650,000 square feet. The transactions include: Conn's Appliances Inc. leased 321,135 square feet at 4800 Langdon Road in south Dallas. Dave Anderson of CBRE represented Conn's. Winzer Corp. signed a build-to-suit agreement for a 122,595-square-foot office/warehouse facility on Plano Parkway in Plano. Sharon Morrison and Bill de la Chapelle of Transwestern represented Winzer Corp. Ring Container Technologies leased 105,857 square feet of space at Building 2 in the Railhead Industrial Park in Fort Worth. Allen Gump of Colliers International represented Ring. TSF Sportswear leased 78,065 square feet at Forum 303 Crossing in Arlington. Nathan Lawrence and Travis Sapaugh of CBRE represented TSF Sportswear. Pitney Bowes Presort Services Inc. leased 75,600 square feet at Forum 303 Crossing. Dan Cook, Mark Becker and Brad Jones of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas represented Pitney Bowes. American Furniture Rentals leased 38,987 square feet of Forum 303 Crossing. Allen Gump of Colliers International represented American Furniture. M&M ARRANGES SALE OF COPPER CREEK APTS. IN FORT WORTH

FORT WORTH, TEXAS — Marcus & Millichap has brokered the sale of Copper Creek, a 274-unit multifamily property located in Fort Worth. Copper Creek is 92 percent occupied and was built in 1986. The apartment community's list price was $6.2 million. Al Silva of Marcus & Millichap's Fort Worth office represented the seller, Dallas-based Price Realty Corp., in the transaction. Silva also secured and represented the buyer, Texas-based 6011 Oakland Hills LP, which plans to make interior improvements to the property.

MIDTOWN SHOPPING CENTER IN LOS ANGELES RECEIVES $44M LOAN

LOS ANGELES – A $44-million acquisition loan has been provided for Midtown Shopping Center, a 185,000-square-foot retail center in Los Angeles. Notable tenants at the center include Ralphs, CVS and OSH. Financing was based on a three-year, interest-only term. It was arranged by Ory Schwartz of NorthMarq Capital’s Los Angeles regional office through its relationship with a non-recourse bridge lender. The borrower was a private Los Angeles-based investor.

THE FAIRWAYS IN CHANDLER SELLS FOR $35.2M

CHANDLER, ARIZ. — The Fairways, a 352-unit apartment community in Chandler, has sold to the Bascom Group for $35.2 million. Bascom completed the acquisition in conjunction with its local affiliate, Bascom Arizona Ventures LLC. The community is located at 777 West Chandler Blvd. on the San Marcos Golf Resort. The seller, Situs Holdings LLC, was represented by Cliff David and Steve Gebing of Marcus & Millichap’s Phoenix office.

BANNING VILLA APARTMENTS IN WILMINGTON SELLS FOR $10.5M

WILMINGTON, CALIF. – The 90-unit Banning Villa Apartments in Wilmington has sold to Preservation Partners and Clifford Beers Housing for $10.5 million. The affordable housing complex for seniors is located at 1100 N. Banning Blvd. near San Pedro and the Port of Los Angeles. The new owner plans to invest about $50,000 per unit in capital improvements. A $9.4-million loan that was originated by Enterprise Community Loan Fund will be used for the facility’s acquisition and rehabilitation. The buyers were represented by Tim Steuernolof NAI Capital’s West Los Angeles office. The seller, VPP Banning Villas Apartments VP, was represented by Kanna and Ramu Sunkara of Sunkara Investments.

SAN DIEGO OFFICE, INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS SELL FOR $2.4M

SAN DIEGO – A 5,000-square-foot office building and a 6,200-square-foot adjacent industrial building in San Diego have sold to a private investor for $2.4 million. The buildings are located at the corner of Cedar and California streets. The new owner plans to convert the property into 11,000 square feet of restaurant, office or retail space. Ben Tashakorian and Nick Totah represented both the buyer and the seller, a limited liability company, in this transaction.
