NEW YORK CITY — Bloomsbury Publishing, the publisher of JK Rowling's Harry Potter series, has signed a long-term lease for 23,500 square feet at 1385 Broadway in New York City. The building is located between West 37th and West 38th streets, just south of Times Square. The publisher is scheduled to move into the new space in the first quarter of 2013. Leon Manoff of Colliers International represented the tenant in the transaction. Jonathan Serko and Diana Gaines of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord.

NEW YORK CITY — The City of New York has signed a 131,946-square-foot expansion lease at 100 Church St. in downtown Manhattan, expanding its occupancy at the 21-story building to 504,466 square feet. The lease renewal has a 20-year term. Michael Geoghegan and John Morrill of CBRE Group represented the tenant in the transaction. Brian Waterman, James Kuhn and Lance Korman of Newmark Knight Frank represented the landlord, SL Green Realty Corp.
CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Summer Industries has acquired the former GT/Schwinn Bicycle office, warehouse and distribution facility in Cheektowaga for $2 million. The facility is 84,070 square feet. Summer Industries manufactures tubes, cores and canisters made from recycled paperboard. Eric Tudor and Particia Collins of Coldwell Banker Commercial represented the seller in the transaction. Peter Jaremka of JR Militello Realty represented the buyer.
FRISCO — Hall Financial Group will soon begin construction of a 200,000-square-foot office building, located at 3001 Dallas Parkway in Hall Office Park in Frisco. The City of Frisco and the Frisco Economic Development Corp. provided development incentives for the project. The eight-story building will feature a two-story atrium lobby and exterior signage at the top of the building for one key tenant. The groundbreaking is scheduled for early 2013 and completion is slated for April 2104.
FORT WORTH — Alliance Architects has been selected to provide architectural and design services for Tandy Leather Factory's flagship store, which will be located adjacent to Tandy's corporate headquarters in Fort Worth. The 21,000-square-foot property will feature meeting/teaching space on the lower level. Bob Moore Construction is providing general construction and construction management services. The project is slated for a March 2013 completion.
SAN MARCOS — Hendricks & Partners has brokered the sale of Vantage at San Marcos apartments, a 240-unit, Class A community located at 1350 Saddler Drive in San Marcos. Mike Miller, Chris Ross and Will Caruth of Hendricks & Partners' San Antonio office represented the seller, San Antonio-based AOH-Vantage at San Marcos, in the transaction. The buyer was an out-of-state REIT.
FORT WORTH — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the sale of a 32,400-square-foot Ross Dress for Less, located at 4629 S. Hulen St. in Fort Worth. Jason Vitorino of Marcus & Millichap's Dallas office represented the seller, a partnership, and the buyer in the transaction.
HOUSTON — Resurgent Capital Services has leased a full floor of office space at 2020 S. Dairy Ashford in Houston, totaling 17,287 square feet. Marshall Clinkscales of Colliers International represented the tenant in the lease transaction. D.A. Smith of Briarhollow Realty Group, along with Ted Carey of Realty Services Group, represented the landlord, DAP Plaza Ltd.
SURPRISE, ARIZ. — The Boulevard At Surprise Pointe, a 141,507-square-foot specialty/entertainment shopping center in Surprise, has sold to CIRE Investments for $17.5 million. The center is located on the southeast corner of Waddell and Litchfield Roads. It is 62 percent leased. Its anchors include Ultra Star Cinemas, Walgreens and Uptown Alley Entertainment Center. The Boulevard features eight strip-retail buildings and six land pads for future development. The seller, Karlin Real Estate, was represented by Ryan Schubert and Michael Hackett with Cassidy Turley Arizona’s Capital Markets Group. Brad Douglass and Chris Hollenbeck of Cassidy Turley Arizona’s Retail Group will act as the center’s leasing agents.
GARDEN GROVE, CALIF. – A 125,000-square-foot industrial building in Garden Grove has sold to Ranger West Two, LLC for $12.7 million. It is located at 12101 Western Ave. Ranger West was represented by Peter Castleton of Voit Real Estate Services and Todd Clarke of Kidder Matthews. The seller, 12101 LLC, was represented by Tim Arguello of Lee & Associates – Newport Beach.
