MACHESNEY PARK, ILL. — A new Army Reserves Training Facility is joining the Willow Creek Business Center in Machesney Park. The facility will consist of more than 15 acres of office and industrial ground and will be located north of Highway 173. The campus will include administrative offices, a library, learning center, weapons vault, weapons simulator and physical fitness area. Orput Cos. sold the land for $1.1 million. The Reserves' objective is to consolidate two of its training facilities to one central campus for better efficiency.

BOSTON — Construction crews have broken ground on Waterside Place, a 20-story residential tower in Boston. The $120 million, mixed-use project will include 236 apartment units and 10,000 square feet of ground-level retail space. The project will be designed to achieve LEED Sliver certification. The Drew Co. is developing the tower and Commercial Construction Consulting is the project manager. TRO Jung/Brannen will serve as the architect. Suffolk Construction was recently selected to manage the construction. The tower is slated for completion in September 2014.

BOSTON — Vornado Realty Trust has agreed to sell its Mart segment properties, which includes the Boston Design Center at 300 D. St. SW in Boston, for $228 million. Vornado expects to post a net gain of $144 million on the sales. The properties also include Washington Design Center, the L.a. Mart and the Canadian Trade Shows. The sales of the L.A. and Canadian assets have already closed and Vornado expects the other two showroom properties to close in the current quarter.

NEW YORK CITY — Staples has signed a 15,584-square-foot lease at 641 Sixth Ave. in Chelsea. The two-level store will include 4,696 square feet of space on the ground floor and 10,888 square feet on the lower level. Staples plans to relocate from 699 Sixth Ave. by this December. Robert Futterman, Gary Alterman and Ross Berkowitz of RKF represented the landlord, Atlas Capital, in the transaction. Chase Welles of SCG Retail represented Staples.

ROUND ROCK — Austin-based TRISUN Healthcare, a subsidiary of Harden Healthcare, has opened the new 90,000-square-foot Wyoming Springs Assisted Living and Memory Care facility, located at 7230 Wyoming Springs Drive in Round Rock. The property features 102 assisted living units, 32 of which are dedicated to memory care residents. Prevarian Senior Living designed and built the seniors housing facility, which features a spa, exercise room with classes, a library with computers, a theater, wine bar, gardening spot and a playground for visiting children. The facility also includes an on-site barber, beauty salon, country store, an on-site chaplan and TRISUN's Signature Dining Service.

ANTHEM, ARIZ. — Anthem Community Council has purchased a 36,499-square-foot, Class A office building in Anthem for $2.3 million. The building is located at 3701 W. Anthem Way. Anthem was represented by Eric Wichterman, Blake Hastings, Mike Coover, Jeff Wentworth and Sean Spellman with Cassidy Turley BRE Commercial. The seller, GE Commercial Finance Business Property, was represented by Scott Nelson and Troy Nelson of Voit Real Estate Services.
