GASTONIA, N.C. — Capstone Apartments Partners has arranged the $6.25 million sale of the 176-unit Bluffs at Northwoods, an apartment complex located at 1850 Yellowstone Ct. in Gastonia. Amenities include a clubhouse, pool, fitness center, tennis courts and laundry center. Brian Ford and Beau McIntosh of Capstone's Charlotte, N.C., office represented the seller, Willamette Property Holdings, in the transaction. The buyer was a private investor.

COLUMBUS, GA. — St. Paul, Minn.-based AEI Capital Corp. has acquired an 8,300-square-foot Family Dollar property, located in Columbus, for $1.55 million. Family Dollar Stores Inc. has signed a long-term lease for the property. AEI was self-represented by Marni Nygard in the transaction, and Bryan Belk of Franklin Street's Atlanta office represented the undisclosed seller.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the $1.02 million sale of the 49,688-square-foot Penny Pinchers Self-Storage, located at 124 Dorton St. in Charlotte. Michael Mele of Marcus & Millichap's Tampa, Fla., office, along with Allen Smith of the firm's Charlotte office and Stacey Gorman of the firm's Atlanta office, represented the seller, a limited liability company, in the transaction. Mele and Gorman also produced the buyer, a private investor.
GREENVILLE, S.C. — Greenville-based Vista Capital Management Group has been retained by Gardena, Calif.-based Highridge Costa Investors to manage its 619-unit South Carolina multifamily portfolio. The properties include the 72-unit Avalon Place in Columbia; the 60-unit Creek View in Batesburg-Leesville; the 72-unit Village Senior in Warrenville; the 40-unit West Winfield Acres in Spartanburg; the 300-unit Bridgeview Village and the 75-unit Palace, both in Charleston.
ST. PAUL, MINN. — Felcor Lodging Trust has agreed to sell six hotels for $103 million to an undisclosed buyer. The portfolio consists of 1,527 rooms, including the Embassy Suites in St. Paul and Boca Raton, Fla. The acquisition also includes the Holiday Inn San Antonio-Airport, the Sheraton Suites Ft. Lauderdale-Cypress Creek and Doubletree Guest Suite hotels in Raleigh/Durham and Tampa. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter.
CHICAGO — Summit Design + Build LLC has been selected as the general contractor for American Society for Surgery of the Hand's (ASSH) new corporate headquarters. The facility will be located at 822 W. Washington Blvd. in Chicago. Crews will reconstruct an existing, 30,000-square-foot office and warehouse structure and install a new elevator, stair systems and plumbing. ASSH will occupy the entire second floor, while the first floor will contain loft-style office space. The ASSH build-out will include private offices, a conference room and a yoga room. MRSA Architects and Planners is designing the project, which is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of this year.
LENEXA, KAN. — Maxus Realty Trust has purchased the Rosehill Pointe Apartments for $28.7 million in Lenexa, a suburb south of Kansas City. Constructed in 1985, the 498-unit complex is located along West 87th Street. Jeff Stingley of CBRE's Kansas City office represented the seller, New York-based CLK Multi-Family and an affiliate of Houlihan Parnes Realtors LLC, in the transaction.
CHICAGO — New York-based Samson Management has sold 2778 N. Milwaukee in Chicago for $2.4 million to an undisclosed buyer. The 42,000-square-foot, mixed-use property is occupied by Gap Outlet on the ground floor. The retailer recently renewed its 12,000-square-foot lease for another five years. The remaining storefront is leased to a currency exchange on a year-to-year basis. The buyer plans to redevelop the vacant top three floors into rental apartments. Michael Bennet of Newmark Knight Frank represented the seller in the deal. Matt Welke of Essex Realty represented the buyer.
BAYONNE, N.J. — Inland Real Estate Acquisitions has purchased Bayonne Crossing, a 356,647-square-foot shopping center in Bayonne for $75.2 million. Located just off the Hudson River, the acquisition includes a 91,109-square-foot Walmart and a 146,583-square-foot Lowe's Home Improvement. The newly built center was completed in 2012. Additional tenants include Michaels and Dollar Zone. Joe Cosenza of The Inland Real Estate Group Inc. represented the buyer in the deal. HFF represented the seller.
PHILADELPHIA — The Franklin Institute has broken ground on a new, $64 million building addition. The project will expand the Philadelphia-based science museum by 53,000 square feet. Skanska USA will construct the addition, which will be called the Nicholas and Athena Karabots Pavilion. The space will include education classrooms and meeting space. The project is scheduled for completion by 2014.
