LAFAYETTE, LA. — Walker & Dunlop has secured $18.98 million in financing for the 242-unit Ansley Walk Apartments, located at 401 Guidry Rd. in Lafayette. Stephen Farnsworth of Walker & Dunlop's New Orleans office arranged the 7-year loan with a 30-year amortization through Freddie Mac's CME program.
NOVI, MICH. — Signature Associates has negotiated the sale of 50,000 square feet of industrial space, located at 42860 Nine Mile Road in Novi, Mich. Jim Montgomery of Signature Associates's Southfield, Mich. office represented the seller, Tisdale LLC. David Giltner of Signature Associates represented the buyer, SunGlo, in the transaction.
SKOKIE, ILL. — Command Transportation has purchased a 44,118-square-foot industrial facility in Skokie, Ill. from Sitex Realty Group for an undisclosed amount. Brian Colson and Eric Fischer of NAI Hiffman represented Sitex Realty Group in the transaction. The buyer plans to demolish the building and use the property for additional parking.
QUINCY, ILL. — FedEx has broken ground on a new $1.5 million FedEx Distribution Center in Quincy, Ill. The 28,000-square-foot center is located on six acres in Wismann Ridge Business Park. The project developer is Madison-Wis.-based Ruedebusch Development & Construction. The center is slated for completion in March 2012.
EASTON, PA. — Parcel Point Inc., a third-party logistics company, has leased 90,000 square feet of warehouse space at 900 Conroy Place in Easton, Pa. Michael Adams of NAI Summit represented Parcel Point in the transaction. Hawley Realty represented the owner, LIG Business Holdings.
CAMBRIDGE, MASS. —Alexandria Real Estate Equities Inc. has broken ground on the first phase of a $500 million science and technology complex in Cambridge, Mass. Alexandria Center at Kendall Square will ultimately include 1.7 million square feet of office, laboratory and residential space. Biogen Idec, a global biotechnology firm, will occupy the first six-story, 307,000-square-foot building at 225 Binney St. when it delivers in 2013. The building is designed by architectural firm Spagnolo Gisness & Associates Inc.
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Hobby Lobby, an arts and crafts retailer, opened a 56,491-square-foot store at Wallkill Plaza, located on the southeast corner of Route 211 East and Carpenter Avenue in Middletown, N.Y. David Sternschuss of Welco Realty Inc.'s New Rochelle, N.Y. office represented Hobby Lobby. Brixmor Property Group, the owner of Wallkill Plaza, was represented by Laura Parke-Carson of Bixmor.
WEEHAWKEN, N.J. —Developers Lennar Urban and Roseland Property Co. have broken ground on a new phase of condominiums at Henley on Hudson at Port Imperial in Weehawken, N.J. The 36 new condo units, ranging in size from 912 to 1,722 square feet, will be completed by May 2013. When fully completed in 2015, the Henley on Hudson development will include 222 units.
FORT WORTH — Three new office buildings, totaling approximately 275,000 square feet, are scheduled to break ground in spring 2012 at Sundance Square, a 35-block entertainment, office and retail district in Fort Worth. The buildings will be located at 420 Commerce St.; 425 Houston St.; and 407 Throckmorton St. The Throckmorton Street building will be approximately 99,000 square feet, including 12,196 square feet of residential space. The Houston Street building will be approximately 93,000 square feet, including 12,393 square feet of retail space. The Commerce Street building will be approximately 83,000 square feet, including 17,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. Washington, D.C.-based David M. Schwarz Architects designed the project to meet LEED certification. Fort Worth-based The Projects Group is the project manager, Fort Worth-based Bennett Benner Pettit, Planners + Architects is the architect of record and The Beck Group is the construction manager for all three buildings.
DALLAS — Drew Davis Realty Partners has purchased a 38,500-square-foot office building, located at 4027-4031 Bronze Way in Dallas, from Fujikoki America.
