COLUMBUS, GA. — Home2 Suites by Hilton has broken ground on an 81-room hotel, located at 1664 Whittlesey Rd. in Columbus. Ram Hotels is developing the four-story property. Upon completion, Nirvana Hospitality will own the hotel and Ram Hotel Management will manage it. The property is slated to open in September 2012.
ROYAL PALM BEACH, FLA. — Continental Realty Corp. has purchased a 30,500-square-foot retail property, located at 101 S. State Rd. 7 in Royal Palm Beach. The property is fully leased to Office Depot and Mattress Giant. Clinton Texter of Marcus & Millichap's San Francisco office represented the buyer in the transaction.
MADISON AND FERRUM, VA. — Two Virginia Dollar General Stores, located in Madison and Ferrum, have been sold for $2.54 million. Andrew Fallon of Calkain Cos.' Bethesda, Md., office represented the seller, the developer of the assets, in the transaction. Arthur Judelsohn of Pyramid Brokerage Co.'s Buffalo, N.Y., office represented the buyer, a Northeast real estate development company.
FORT MYERS, FLA. — Chico's Retail Services has purchased a 33,000-square-foot industrial building, located at 10995 Metro Pkwy. in Fort Myers, from CDW 10995 Metro Parkway, LLC, for $2.5 million. Randal Mercer of CBRE's Fort Myers office represented the seller in the transaction, and Allan Fox of Commercial Property Management represented the buyer.
NORCROSS, GA. — Virginia-based SugarOak has acquired the 55,000-square-foot Spalding Exchange Office Park, located off of Holcomb Bridge Road in Norcross, from LNR for an undisclosed price. Kevin Markwordt of Transwestern's Atlanta office represented the buyer in the transaction and Eva Horton of Grubb & Ellis' Atlanta office represented the seller.
OMAHA— Omaha-based Darland Construction Co. recently completed construction of the Harold M. and Beverly Maurer Center for Public Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center campus in Omaha. The 62,600-square-foot, three-level building cost a reported $15 million. The facility includes 106 offices and an 80-seat, theater-style classroom. The facility was designed by Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture and Adam Simpson of Darland was the project manager.
GLENDALE, WIS. — Grandbridge Real Estate Capital has originated and closed a $2.9 million first mortgage loan secured by a medical office building. The loan refinanced an existing full-recourse bank loan. Located in Glendale, Wis., the 25,044 square foot building was built in 2003. Rob Meister of Grandbridge's Milwaukee office arranged the 10-year fixed rate loan through American Equity Investment Insurance Co.
PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KAN. — Jos. A. Bank, a national clothing line, opened a new location at The Village in Prairie Village, Kan. Justin Kaufmann of LANE4 Property Group, Inc. the leasing and management company for the shopping center, negotiated the lease for the 3,667 square foot space, located at 3925 W. 69th Terrace.
NEW YORK — SL Green Realty Corp. and its joint venture partner Jeff Sutton have sold two retail condominium units at 141 Fifth Ave. in New York for $46 million. The condominiums encompass about 9,860 square feet, and are situated two blocks south of Madison Square Park. Eastdil Secured represented the seller and Eastern Consolidated represented the buyer in the transaction.
