HUBER HEIGHTS, OHIO — Mid-America Real Estate Corp. has arranged the sale of Waynetown Plaza located in Huber Heights, a suburb of Dayton. Baltimore-based Broad Reach Retail Partners purchased the 192,332-square-foot, grocery-anchored center. Waynetown Plaza is located at the southwest corner of Old Troy Pike (State Route 22) and I-70. Kroger anchors the shopping center. Other tenants include a Buffalo Wild Wings, TGI Friday’s, Chipotle, Burger King and Davita Dialysis. Ben Wineman of Mid-America and Chris Conley of Oberer Realty Services Ltd. represented the seller, a private investment group.

OMAHA, NEB. — Block & Co. Inc. Realtors in Kansas City has arranged a 44,327-square-foot retail lease for Best Buy in Omaha. The electronics store will occupy space at Heritage Plaza Shopping Center at 115 N. 76th St. Other tenants at the shopping center include Buffalo Wild Wings, Chuck E. Cheese’s, Charleston’s Restaurant and Command Center. Best Buy plans to open during the fourth quarter. David Block of Block & Co. negotiated the lease transaction on behalf of the landlord.
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS — Bill Bledsoe of Henry S. Miller Brokerage’s Investments and Land Division represented Classic Chevrolet in the purchase of 11.2 acres in Grapevine. Located off State Highway 121 at Stone Myers Parkway, the land will be used for business expansion. Bledsoe represented the buyer. Bruce Harbour of Harbour Realty represented the seller, a local partnership group.
TULSA, OKLA. — The SRS Southeast Investment Sales team has arranged the sale of a 53,210-square-foot property in Tulsa. The property, which is currently occupied by Virginia College, is located at 5124 S. Peoria Ave. The seller, OK Tulsa South Peoria LLC, sold the property to GPROP LLC for $8.8 million. Virginia College, a wholly owned subsidiary of Education Corp. of America, offers diplomas, associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees. LOS ANGELES – The Government of the United States (GSA) has renewed its lease for 21,961 square feet of office space in the Los Angeles submarket of Brentwood. The GSA leases the entire fourth floor of a Class A building at 12121 Wilshire Blvd. The space is situated on the northwest corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Bundy Drive. The GSA has occupied the building for 10 years. It has now signed on for an additional 10 years. The landlord, Douglas Emmett, was represented by Mitchell Stokes and Bob Safai of Madison Partners.
SAN FRANCISCO – Singapore-based specialty restaurant VeganBurg has announced plans to open its first U.S. restaurant in San Francisco. The plant-based burger restaurant will open at 1466 Haight Street this summer. The space was previously vacated by All You Knead. The company is evaluating plans for future sites across the country. VeganBurg was represented by John Polyzoides and Andrew Lindsey of SRS Real Estate Partners.
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MICH. — A. Alfred Taubman, the founder of Taubman Centers Inc., has died at the age of 91. Robert S. Taubman, president and CEO of Taubman Centers, shared in an email message to Taubman employees on Saturday, April 18, that his father passed away of a heart attack at his home in Bloomfield Hills. Recognized as a pioneer in America’s retailing and shopping center industries, Alfred Taubman founded Taubman Centers, a real estate developer and operator of upscale regional malls, 65 years ago. Taubman, a life-long resident of the Detroit area, was active in numerous businesses, philanthropic and civic initiatives.
WOODSTOCK, GA. — CBL & Associates Properties Inc. and Horizon Group Properties Inc. have begun construction on the second phase of The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta, an outlet mall in Woodstock that features 93 retailers. The 33,000-square-foot expansion is scheduled to open before the 2015 holiday season and will bring retailers GAP Outlet and Banana Republic to the outlet mall, which opened in July 2013 at the intersection of I-575 and Ridgewalk Parkway. Existing retailers at The Outlet Shoppes include Nike, Coach, Michael Kors, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Carter’s, Kate Spade, Vineyard Vines and Johnny Rockets. Horizon and CBL are co-developers of the project; Horizon is responsible for leasing and managing the center.
CARY, N.C. — NorthMarq Capital has arranged the $4.2 million refinance of Lochmere Pavilion, a 32,236-square-foot retail property located at 2425 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary, part of the Raleigh-Durham metro area. David Vinson and Mark Dodson of NorthMarq Capital’s Raleigh and Los Angeles offices, respectively, arranged the financing through a local North Carolina bank on behalf of the borrower, a California-based entity.
