COLUMBUS, OHIO — Six new retailers are slated to open at Easton Town Center in Columbus this year. Louis Vuitton is opening a newly expanded and redesigned space at the shopping center, marking its largest retail space within Ohio. David Yurman, Golden Goose, BOSS and Breitling are all opening their first stores in Ohio. Additionally, L’Occitane is moving and expanding into a larger space at Easton, which opened 25 years ago and is home to more than 250 fashion, dining and entertainment offerings.

RIVERSIDE, ILL. — The Feil Organization is underway on an $8 million renovation of North Riverside Park Mall, a 1.4 million-square-foot shopping center in the Chicago suburb of Riverside. The project team includes JP2 Architects and AECom Hunt Construction Group. Plans call for modernized flooring, updated ceilings and a revamped entrance. Completion is slated for October. Acquired by Feil in 2004, North Riverside Park Mall is home to 130 national and boutique stores, services and eateries. New tenant additions include Miniso, Pandora, Kids Empire, Kong Dog and Kids Foot Locker House of Play.

BOSTON — Ironside Realty has acquired a 3,300-square-foot single-tenant retail property located at 177 State St. in downtown Boston. The building is located within the 1 McKinley Square mixed-use development and is net leased to 7-Eleven. An undisclosed, third-party broker represented the seller, which also requested anonymity, in the transaction. Ironside Realty was self-represented.

YUMA, ARIZ. — Disney Investment Group (DIG) has arranged the sale of a portion of Yuma Palms Regional Center, a more than 1 million-square-foot power and lifestyle shopping development in Yuma. Bridge33 Capital acquired the asset for an undisclosed price. Totaling 398,602 square feet, the acquired portion includes 49 existing tenants, including Best Buy, Ross Dress for Less, Marshalls, PetSmart, Michael’s, Five Below, Old Navy, Ulta Beauty and Harkins Theatre. Shadow anchors include Target, Sam’s Club, Dillard’s, JCPenney and 10 freestanding restaurants. David Disney and Adam Crockett of DIG represented the undisclosed seller and procured the buyer in the deal.

SARASOTA, FLA. — Southern Realty Trust has provided a $56.4 million mezzanine loan for Aster & Links, a mixed-use development underway in downtown Sarasota. Situated at the intersection of Main Street and Links Avenue, the development will include two 10-story residential buildings housing 424 luxury apartments, 778 parking spaces and 51,000 square feet of ground-level retail space, including a Sprouts Farmers Market grocery store. Lantern Real Estate arranged the financing on behalf of the borrower, Belpointe PREP LLC, an affiliate of Belpointe OZ. Last year, the developer obtained a $130 million construction loan from Bank OZK for the project. Belpointe OZ plans to deliver Aster & Links in the second half of the year.

AVENTURA, FLA. — Cushman & Wakefield has arranged the sale of Aventura Plaza, an 89,883-square-foot mixed-use center in suburban Miami. Situated along Biscayne Boulevard, the property comprises a neighborhood shopping center and a two-story office building spanning 23,554 square feet. Aventura Plaza was 92 percent leased at the time of sale to tenants including Ace Hardware and a recently opened grocery store, Plum Market, that replaced a former Office Depot. Mark Gilbert, Adam Feinstein and Mitchell Halpern of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller, Aventura Plaza Partners, which has owned and operated the property for several decades. The buyer is an entity related to New York-based Elysee Investments. The sales price was not disclosed.

ROSWELL, GA. — Red Door Revivals, a locally based development firm led by Will Coley, has broken ground on Roswell Junction, a new food hall in Roswell’s historic district. The site of the 12,000-square-foot venue formerly housed Atlanta Street Baptist Church, which moved to a church in nearby Woodstock, Ga. Red Door is retrofitting the church building for the venue and is working on integrating parking and other infrastructural elements into Roswell Junction. Roswell Mayor Kurt Wilson and other city officials participated in the groundbreaking ceremony. Slated for completion this summer, the venue will house eight different food concepts and three bars, including an indoor/outdoor bar. The food hall will feature a bandstand, covered patio, arcade, big screen media, outdoor games, children’s play space and a fenced dog area. Pat Garza of National Food Hall Solutions will operate Roswell Junction upon completion.

LOS ANGELES — Brick-and-mortar spaces aren’t the only areas where consumers exist nowadays. There’s the omnichannel approach that includes online shopping, yes, but today’s forward-thinking landlords and tenants know that the digital sphere is the next great conquest.  This was one of the primary arguments made at InterFace Conference Group’s Entertainment Evolution Experience (EEE), which was held at the J.W. Marriott at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles this week.  “Consumers are back and looking for experiences, but it really has to mean something to leave the sofa and comfort of Netflix and go into a shopping center,” said Benjamin Calleja, founder and chief experience officer for Livit Design, as well as the conference keynote speaker. “Digital is blurring the lines between the physical and virtual worlds, creating more ways to transform spaces.” One only needs to look as far as the latest entertainment concepts to see how digital assets are playing an integral role in today’s shopping centers. HYATTSVILLE, MD. — Primark, a global apparel retailer, plans to open a 30,000-square-foot store at Mall at Prince George’s, a regional shopping mall in Hyattsville. PREIT owns the mall, which is located about six miles north of Washington, D.C. Primark recently announced plans to grow its regional footprint from 24 stores to 60 locations. The retailer plans to open its Hyattsville store in 2025 within a space formerly occupied by J.C. Penney. Other tenants at the mall include Target, Planet Fitness, H&M, DSW, Old Navy, Victoria’s Secret and Miller’s Ale House.

OOLTEWAH, TENN. — Marcus & Millichap has brokered the $5.6 million sale of Wolftever Crossing Shopping Strip, a 12,040-square-foot strip retail center located in Ooltewah, roughly 20 miles outside Chattanooga. Tenants at the property, which was built in 2017, include AT&T, Supercuts, Salsarita’s, Firehouse Subs and a standalone AFC Urgent Care. Harrison Creason and Andrew Margulies of Marcus & Millichap arranged the sale on behalf of the seller, a South Carolina-based partnership, and procured the buyer, a California-based private investor. Jody McKibben assisted in closing the transaction as the firm’s broker of record in Tennessee.
