DETROIT — SAL Plymouth Inc. has leased 16,000 square feet of retail space at Value Center Mini Mall in Detroit. The property is located at 20427 Plymouth Road. Scott Barrie of Friedman Real Estate Group represented the landlord, H.U.K. Inc., in the lease transaction. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.

YORK, PA. — Kohl's has announced plans to open a new location at West Manchester Mall in York. The department store will occupy an 80,000-square-foot anchor space, which is currently under construction and slated for an October completion. It will join co-anchors Wal-Mart Supercenter, Regal 13 Cinemas and Macy's. The Lightstone Malls, a division of The Lightstone Group, is the owner of West Manchester Mall. Kohl's currently operates 1,067 stores in 49 states.
THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS — Dhukani Properties has purchased 2.5 acres of land from The Woodlands Development Co. for a future retail center. No development schedule has been set for the land, which is located at the intersection of Harper's Landing Boulevard and South Trade Center Parkway. The center will feature a convenience store and gas station. Colliers International's Todd Edmonds and Cody Christoph represented the seller in the transaction.
HOUSTON — Midway Cos. is adding four new tenants this spring to its $500 million CITYCENTRE development in Houston. LMD Botique will open this month, and a BRIO Tuscan Grille location is slated to open in April. In May, Midway will welcome Cyclone Anaya's Mexican Kitchen, and Ruggles Green in set for a June opening. Plans are in the works for 2010 openings of Sur La Table and Republic of Couture. CITYCENTRE, a 37-acre mixed-use project, includes 1.8 million square feet of retail and office space, 700 multifamily units and a 244-room hotel.
BATON ROUGE, LA. — Campus Apartments is working toward a fall completion of the 30,000-square-foot College Row at Northgate retail center near the Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge. The project, which is currently 70 percent pre-leased, is located at the intersection of Highland Road and State Street. Tenants include CVS/pharmacy, PJ's Coffee, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, Shanghai Tokyo Restaurant and Pita Pit.
FLORIDA — Charleston, S.C.-based Twin Rivers Capital has sold a portfolio of five Family Dollar stores to a private buyer for $8.6 million. The stores are located throughout Northeast Florida. Twin Rivers Capital is the preferred developer of Family Dollar locations.
OVERLAND PARK, KAN. — Walgreens has opened a new 14,820-square-foot location at Cherokee South Plaza in Overland Park. The 118,000-square-foot plaza is currently undergoing redevelopment by Westchester, Ill.-based Tri-Land Properties. The redevelopment project includes the demolition of one building, the construction of three buildings and the addition of new retailers. When completed this summer, the property will feature outdoor patios, tree-lined walkways, sidewalk planters and public spaces for neighborhood use. Current tenants include Kansas Sample, Hallmark Cards, Golf-Tec, Cherokee Liquors, H Block, Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches and Paul Mitchell School.
GARLAND, TEXAS — MSKW Garland Investments has sold a 64,240-square-foot CarMax to an national investment trust for an undisclosed amount. Located at 12715 Lyndon B. Johnson Highway in Garland, the property sits on 14.41 acres. The tenant has 12 years and two 10-year options remaining on its lease. Martin B. Cohan and Tim Speck of Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale.
THE VILLAGES, FLA. — Edwards Construction Services has finished the Seabreeze Regional Recreation Center in The Villages. The property includes a 34,826-square-foot recreation building and a 2,816-square-foot pool building. Sports courts and picnic pavilions are also included on the grounds. A grand opening is scheduled for March 11.
RICHMOND, VA. — Virginia Credit Union has purchased a 6,816-square-foot building from BRC Richmond for $1.45 million. Located at 9498 W. Broad St. in Richmond, the property, a former Hams Restaurant building, sits on 1.34 acres. Thalhimer's Bruce Bigger brokered the sale.
