CHICAGO — Milwaukee-based Roundy’s has agreed to open a grocery store that will anchor a 140,000-square-foot retail center within Chicago’s Lakeshore East mixed-use development. The 55,000-square-foot, bi-level Roundy’s will be situated within the Village Market Center, which is planned for the southwest corner of the 28-acre Lakeshore East. Fifth Third Bank has also signed a lease at the Village Market Center. The retail center will stand just north of the 340 On The Park condo tower, and is expected to be completed within 1 year after the initiation of construction.

WAUWATOSA, WIS. — Milwaukee-based RFP Commercial has brokered the sale of a 65,240-square-foot building located at 12121 W. Feerick St. in Wauwatosa. Goodwill Industries purchased the building and plans to redevelop the property for future use as a retail store and warehouse. The building, which is situated on an approximately 3.9-acre site, was acquired for $2.4 million. Scott Revolinski, Bob Flood and Paul McBride of RFP Commercial represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction.

WETHERSFIELD, CONN. — The White Plains, N.Y., office of Sperry Van Ness (SVN) has brokered the sale of Goff Brook Shops, a 71,493-square-foot community shopping center located in Wethersfield, for $6.8 million. The property, which is located at 1267-1309 Silas Deane Highway, is currently 84 percent leased to 12 tenants, including Office Depot, Home Town Buffet and Catherine’s Plus Sizes. Joseph French and Neil Golub of SVN represented the seller, New York-based Centro Properties. The buyer, a Connecticut-based private investor, was represented by New England Retail Properties.

PHILADELPHIA — Raymour & Flanigan Furniture has signed a lease for 35,308 square feet at Columbus Commons, a 643,810-square-foot retail center located at the corner of Columbus Boulevard and Snyder Avenue in the Center City submarket of Philadelphia. The furniture store plans to open it newest location in June. It marks the retailer’s third location in Philadelphia and its 88th store nationwide. Raymour & Flanigan operated in seven states located in the Northeast. Columbus Commons was developed by Blue Bell, Pa.-based The Goldenberg Group and opened in summer 2004. Additional tenants include IKEA, Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse and Champps Americana.

DICKINSON, TEXAS — The Houston office of Henry S. Miller Brokerage (HSMB) has negotiated a lease for the second expansion of Sherwin Williams within Dickinson Village Shopping Center, a grocery-anchored retail property located at 3410 Gulf Freeway in Dickinson. The retailer increased its presence by 1,400 square feet, bringing its total amount of space in the center to 8,400 square feet. In November 2008, Sherwin Williams completed its first expansion, which was also for 1,400 square feet. HSMB’s Shawn Ackerman represented the landlord, SW Kirkwood LP. Dickinson Village Shopping Center is anchored by Kroger; additional tenants include Subway, Pizza Hut, Curves and H&R Block.

INGLEWOOD, CALIF. — Mel Moss of NAI Capital’s West Los Angeles office represented a private family in the investment acquisition of an approximately 4,304-square-foot retail property. Located at 6802-6806 La Cienega Blvd. in Inglewood, the multi-tenant building sold for more than $3.6 million. The center is currently occupied by T-Mobile and Panda Express, which both have 10-year triple-net leases on the space. Shaun Riley of Faris Lee represented the seller, La Cienega Shopping Center Development LLC, in the transaction.

WOODSTOCK, GA. — Marcus & Millichap has brokered a Boca Raton, Fla.-based private investor’s sale of a 115,396-square-foot BJ’s Wholesale Club to an undisclosed party for $16.05 million. The property is located at 105 Long Dr. in Woodstock, just off I-575. Sonny Molloy of Marcus & Millichap’s Atlanta office represented the seller, and Jason Vitorino and Philip Levy of the firm’s Dallas office represented the buyer.

HILLSIDE, ILL. — Metro Commons LLC has opened Hillside Town Center, a 350,000-square-foot power center located on Mannheim Road in the Chicago suburb of Hillside. Chicago-based Sierra Realty Advisors represented Metro Commons in leasing the center, which is anchored by a Super Target. Additional tenants within the development include Petco, Michaels, Staples, The Roomplace, Panda Express, Qdoba Mexican Grill, American Mattress, Visionworks, GameStop and Sally Beauty.
