MESA, ARIZ. — Flagstaff, Ariz.-based Amelia/10th LLC has purchased a 49,000-square-foot retail property located at 1600 West Main St. in Mesa. Sun Pontiac II LLC sold the property for approximately $2 million. Matt Ogle of Staubach Commercial represented the seller; Tom Semancik of Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT represented the buyer in the transaction.

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. — An undisclosed Palm Beach, Fla.-based buyer has purchased Village Plaza, a 75,823-square-foot shopping center in Daytona Beach, from Prime Equities, for $9.3 million. The center is located along Belville Road. Tenants include Verizon, Subway, Daytona Beach Tag Agency and Publix administrative offices. Jeff Pocklington, Mike Pocklington and Martin Forster of Orlando-based Pocklington, Pocklington & Forster Retail, a member of the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance, were the sole brokers in the transaction.
GREER, S.C. — Passco Grier Piedmont has purchased Piedmont Plaza Shopping Center, located at 1326 West Wade Hampton Blvd. in Greer, from Greer/Piedmont Joint Venture, for an undisclosed amount. The buyer plans to redevelop the property with the assistance of Navarro Real Estate.
JACKSONVILLE, ILL. — St. Louis-based Walton Construction Co. has completed construction of a $15 million Wal-Mart Supercenter located in Jacksonville. The grand opening for the 200,000-square-foot retail center was held last week. During construction, 90 percent of the project subcontractors hired by Walton were residents of the Jacksonville community.
BLOOMFIELD, CONN. — The Lightstone Group has negotiated a lease with K&G Theatres for Bloomfield 8 Cinemas at the Wintonbury Mall in Bloomfield. The 28,000-square-foot theatre is set to open this spring. Other tenants at Wintonbury Mall, which is located at 865 Park Ave., include State Farm Insurance, Citi Financial and the Arthur Murray Dance Center.
CORVALLIS AND HILLSBORO, ORE., AND ORCHARDS, WASH. — Regency Centers has completed approximately 400,000 square feet of retail space in three separate shopping centers located in Oregon and Washington. The properties include the 82,671-square-foot Corvallis Market Center in Corvallis; Tanasbourne Market Center, a 71,000-square-foot retail center in Hillsboro; and Orchards Market Center, a 263,752-square-foot shopping center in Orchards. The centers feature a variety of tenants, including T.J. Maxx, Michaels, Famous Footwear, Dress Barn, Jared’s Jewelers, Peets Coffee, Daphne’s, LA Fitness, Office Depot, Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts and Petco.
FLORENCE, KY. Babies R Us has signed with Lake Bluff, Ill.-based Pine Tree Commercial Realty to anchor Turfway Commons located on the northwest corner of Spiral Drive and Houston Road adjacent to a strip retail center and Sam s Club. The retail center will be converted from an existing 118,000-square-foot Wal-Mart. Construction will begin in mid-2006 with delivery set for spring 2007.
WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — Victor ‘Buddy’ John and Jim Pagett of NAI Avant have brokered the sale of Capitol Square Shopping Center located at 200 Sunset Blvd. in West Columbia. Edens & Avant sold the 8-acre, 83,085-square-foot property to a local private investor for $1.85 million.
RIDGELAND, MISS. — Jackson-based Mattiace Properties and H.C. Bailey Companies are opening Renaissance at Colony Park, a 57-acre, 500,000-square-foot lifestyle center in Ridgeland. The open-air center will consists of a 60 retail stores, 50,000 square feet of office space, five restaurants, five specialty food stores and a Hyatt Place Hotel. Tenants include P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano, The Fresh Market Market, Barnes & Noble, Ethan Allen, Ann Taylor and White House/Black Market, among others. The development will open in March, and is located on Highland Colony Parkway at the northwest corner of Interstate 55 and Old Agency Road.
REDONDO BEACH, CALIF. — Barry Silver, owner of The Silver Group, has brokered the sale of a 31,500-square-foot, single-tenant retail property, which is located at 1401 Hawthorne Blvd. in Redondo Beach. The Alexander Family Trust acquired the property for more than $12.15 million. Previously occupied by The Good Guys until 2006, the property is currently occupied by T.J. Maxx under a 10-year lease, which was negotiated by Silver. Greg Trotter of Coldwell Bank Commercial’s Sherman Oaks, Calif., office assisted with the sale transaction.
