CHICAGO — SVN Chicago Commercial has negotiated a new lease for the former Beacon Tavern restaurant space in Chicago. Lady May, a Garrett Hospitality Group concept, will occupy the space beginning late this year. Lady May is an eatery and cocktail parlor that serves southern coastal fare. Leslie Karr and Lorile Herlihy of SVN Chicago Commercial negotiated the 10-year lease. The 6,700-square-foot property will also include an outpost of Sushi|Bar.

FARMINGTON, N.M. — Newmark has brokered the sale of a single-tenant retail building located at 5200 E. Main St. in Farmington. Johnston Real Estate Farmington sold the asset to an undisclosed public REIT for $6.5 million. Matt Berres, Samer Khalil and Karick Brown of Newmark’s Net Lease Capital Markets group, along with John Ransom of Colliers, represented the seller in the deal. Ashley HomeStore occupies the property on a long-term, passive double net-lease basis. The retail furniture store has more than 2,000 locations in 60 countries.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Grosvenor has obtained an $82.1 million loan to refinance 1500 K Street, a 262,190-square-foot mixed-use building in Washington, D.C. Eastdil Secured arranged the loan through Helaba on behalf of Grosvenor. Built in 1928, 1500 K Street comprises offices and retail space. The property is situated near the McPherson Square Metro station and the White House, as well as Washington, D.C.’s downtown and East End districts. Grosvenor recently invested $20 million to renovate the property, including updates to the lobby, fitness center, tenant lounge, HVAC system, roof and rooftop lounge.

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Branch Properties has added new retailers and restaurants to the tenant lineup at Moncks Corner Marketplace, a Publix-anchored shopping center in the Charleston suburb of Moncks Corner. Branch Properties co-lists the 75,267-square-foot center with Hannah Kamba and Tim Rowley of Coldwell Banker Commercial Atlantic. Set to open at the corner of U.S. Highway 52 and Cypress Gardens Road later this summer, the shopping center’s 48,387-square-foot Publix store will feature a covered outdoor café on the second floor. Other tenants joining Moncks Corner Marketplace include locally owned pub Dog & Duck; pet retailer and groomer Woof Gang Bakery; family-owned taco kitchen Viva Tacos & Tequila; Japanese restaurant Kyoto Sushi & Hibachi; Chinese takeout restaurant Super Pan; locally owned beverage store EJ’s Wine & Spirits; nail salon Magic Nail; forestry insurance firm Swamp Fox Agency; Pacific Dental Services; and hair removal studio Brazilian Wax & Spa by Claudia. In addition to Moncks Corner Marketplace, Branch Properties is currently developing six other Publix-anchored centers around the Southeast.

TROY, MICH. — DraftKings Inc. and Live! Hospitality & Entertainment are opening the country’s first Sports & Social DraftKings venue at Somerset Collection in Troy this fall. Sports & Social DraftKings will offer a live sports viewing and wagering experience with a 32-foot LED media wall and gameday watch parties. Guests will be able to access DraftKings’ mobile platforms to play fantasy sports and wager on sports, including football, basketball, baseball, golf, MMA, soccer and tennis. The venue will offer a menu with a variety of gameday foods and specialty drinks. The 10,400-square-foot space will be in the standalone building adjacent to Somerset Collection South. The venue will feature a private lounge, dog-friendly outdoor patio, live music and a variety of games. ICRAVE is the project architect. Additional locations are expected to be announced in the coming months. DraftKings is a digital sports entertainment and gaming company. Sports & Social is a dining and entertainment concept developed and operated by Live! Hospitality & Entertainment, a division of The Cordish Cos. Somerset Collection is a retail destination owned by The Forbes Co. and home to 180 stores and restaurants.

BRIDGETON, MO. — IMPACT Strategies is beginning work this month on a project to convert a former Bank of America branch building into a medical marijuana dispensary for Proper Cannabis in Bridgeton, a northwest suburb of St. Louis. The 2,500-square-foot project will include renovations to both the building’s interior and exterior. The building marks the third location that IMPACT has built for Proper Brands. The $1 million project is slated for completion in November. Proper Brands also operates locations in Crestwood, Warrenton and South County, Mo.

Torrey Lewis and Kellen Duggan of Friedman represented the undisclosed seller. N3 Property Advisors was the buyer.

CHERRY HILL, N.J. — Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) has welcomed several new tenants to Cherry Mill Mall in metro Philadelphia. Apparel brands Psycho Bunny and Levi’s have signed leases for 2,390 and 3,000 square feet with plans to open in mid-2023 and late 2022, respectively. Seafood restaurant Eddie V’s has also committed to 8,685 square feet and is targeting a spring 2023 opening. Laura Pomerantz of Cushman & Wakefield represented Levi’s in the lease negotiations. Steve Gartner and Drew Schaul of CBRE represented Psycho Bunny, and David Orkin, also with CBRE, represented Eddie V’s.

SAN DIEGO — SRS Real Estate Partners has arranged the sale of single-tenant retail building located at 9420 Scranton Road in San Diego. A Southern California-based retail property owner and operator sold the asset to a Southern California-based family partnership for $8.1 million in an all-cash transaction. Planet Fitness occupies the 17,000-square-foot building, which was built in 1986 and renovated in 2020. Matthew Mousavi and Patrick Luther of SRS’ National Net Lease group represented the seller and buyer in the deal.

SUWANEE, GA. — Macy’s has opened its “off-mall” store concept, Market by Macy’s, in the metro Atlanta area. The 30,000-square-foot store is located within Johns Creek Town Center at 3630 Peachtree Parkway in Suwanee, a northeast suburb of Atlanta in Gwinnett County. The store, the third Markey by Macy’s in the Atlanta area, includes a rotating installation of apparel called “Trend Village,” a Toys ‘R’ Us store-within-a-store and home décor and cosmetics departments. By the end of the year, Macy’s plans to expand Market by Macy’s to eight total locations, including new stores coming to metro St. Louis and Chicago, as well as a couple stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
