Nina Kuhn internally represented the landlord, Levcor Inc., in the transaction. This will be Art Class and Wine Glass’s second location.

KANSAS CITY, KAN. — Block & Co. Inc. has sold a 1.1-acre pad site at the Plaza at the Speedway development in Kansas City to Burger King. The pad site is located on the northwest quadrant of I-435 and Parallel Parkway in front of Sam’s Club and Kohl’s. The Plaza at the Speedway is an 850,000-square-foot retail shopping center located in the heart of a major tourism district. Other tenants include Walmart Supercenter, Taco Bell and Chick-fil-A. Anchor space, pad sites and small shop spaces are still available. Alex Block and David M. Block of Block & Company represented the seller, Plaza Speedway Development Inc., in the transaction.

FORT LEE, N.J. — Tucker Development, in partnership with Kushner Real Estate Group and a fund managed by Ares Management, has opened the first phase of residential apartments and a portion of the retail component at the 1 million-square-foot Hudson Lights project in downtown Fort Lee. Situated at the base of the George Washington Bridge, the 276-unit residential property features a pool, lounge, fitness center, yoga room, kids play area and rooftop terrace and gardens. The developer has also opened an eight-screen, 533-seat iPic movie theater at the project. The theater includes City Perch Kitchen & Bar, an in-theater restaurant that allows guests to order food and drinks from a personal server. Additional signed tenants include Paris Baguette, Gaonnuri Restaurant, Anthony Franco’s Pizza, 16 Handles, CVS/pharmacy, Capital One Bank, CycleBar, SeeSaw, Linwood Wines, European Wax Center, Tutti Nails & Spa and Coldwell Banker.

WHEELING, ILL. — Lynmark Group is scheduled to break ground on Wheeling Town Center, a mixed-use development in Wheeling, this fall. The development will feature a 300-unit luxury apartment building with a modern amenity package and facilities and 100,000 square feet of retail, restaurants and entertainment venues. The apartment building will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts, a parking garage, courtyard, pool, bocce court, a fire pit, barbecue grills, a covered gazebo bar, putting green, pergola covered dining, lounge areas, and fitness and yoga rooms. The retail portion will be anchored a 40,000-square-foot, 10-screen CMX theater, which is a high-end, dine-in movie theater. Callison/RTKL is serving as lead designer and William A. Randolph is serving as general contractor for the project.

RAYTOWN, MO. — Block & Company Realtors has brokered the sale of a 1.28-acre pad site located at the southeast corner of 75th Street and Raytown Road in Raytown, a suburb of Kansas City. Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers acquired the site for an undisclosed price. The buyer plans to construct a restaurant on the site, with completion scheduled for early 2017. David Block and Phil Peck of Block & Company Realtors negotiated the transaction. The name of the seller was not released.

SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE — David Lengyel, owner and chief caretaker of Willows Pizza, has leased the former SoPo Bar and Grill space at 740 Broadway in South Portland. SoPo Bar and Grill, which had been in operation since 2014, suddenly closed last week. Lengyel plans to relocate Willows Pizza from 1422 Broadway to the new 8,800-square-foot location and will be opening for business in November. Additionally, Lengyel plans to re-hire as many former SoPo employees as possible and expand the restaurant’s menu to include SoPo’s standard fare, including steaks and burgers. MCKINNEY, TEXAS — Wingstop is set to open a new 1,745-square-foot restaurant at The Shops at Eagle Point in McKinney. Britton Lankford of Bright Realty represented the tenant in the transaction, and Vy Le of Quine & Associates represented the undisclosed landlord. Walmart shadow anchors the shopping center, which is also home to tenants including Subway, Mooyah, SportClips Haircuts and Kelly-Moore Paints. An opening for the restaurant has yet to be announced.

SKOKIE, OAK BROOK AND HYDE PARK, ILL. — Nando’s Peri-Peri is opening three locations this fall in Chicagoland. The restaurants in Skokie, Oak Brook and Hyde Park will be the company’s ninth, tenth and eleventh locations in the Chicago area. The South African-Portuguese restaurant operates locations in 23 nations from Australia to Zimbabwe.

KATY, TEXAS — The first round of retailers will open Oct. 28 in the 89-acre Grand Morton Town Center, including a 125,531-square-foot Kroger Marketplace. The NewQuest Properties project, being developed in phases, ultimately will bring 600,459 square feet of retail, restaurants and medical offices to the neighborhood. Opening in tandem with Kroger Marketplace will be Ideal Dental, Supercuts, T-Mobile and Today’s Vision, totaling 7,700 square feet. Rebecca Le and Josh Friedlander of Houston-based NewQuest will handle leasing. Grand Morton Town Center includes more than three-quarters of a mile of frontage along Grand Parkway. About 60 percent of the project is pre-leased, leased or under negotiation for a lease. The project also includes 16 pad sites, four of which will be occupied by McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A and Whataburger.
