WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Generation Companies has broken ground on the 118-room Homewood Suites/Wilmington-Mayfaire extended-stay hotel at 6732 Swan Mill Rd. in Wilmington. Unit amenities include high-speed Internet and a full kitchen. The property also features an executive business center, a fitness facility and a pool. Delivery is expected next spring.

ALBANY, GA. — Wellness Center Partners, with the help of Atlanta-based Bryant Commercial Real Estate Partners and Stevens Financial Service, are developing the 85-bed Flint River Recovery Center in Albany. No groundbreaking date has been set for the hospital, which is located in the former Turner Field Naval Hospital on Turner Road. After construction funds are obtained, Albany-based Pellicano Construction will build the center.
MIAMI — Miami-based Link Construction Group has broken ground on a 14,500-square-foot Walgreens at the intersection of Biscayne Boulevard and 150th Street in Miami. Demandt Architecture of Miami designed the project, which is being developed by Taubco. Completion is slated for January.
CONCORD, N.C. — Castle & Cooke has borrowed a $26 million loan for construction of a 62,322-square-foot building on the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College campus in Concord. The property will include classrooms, offices and research and development labs. US Bank provided funding for the 20-year loan, which carries a 7 percent interest rate. Hal Kempson of CB Richard Ellis’ Charlotte, N.C., office secured the loan. Royal Net Lease and William Blair & Co. also helped with the deal.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA. — Fairfax, Va.-based Chalmers Property Co. has purchased the 160,000-square-foot Three Flint Hill office building from Three Flint Hill Limited Partnership for an undisclosed amount. The eight-story property is located in the Flint Hill Office Park at 3201 Jermantown Rd. in Fairfax County.
ORLANDO, FLA. — AT&T Corp. has leased 186,275 square feet of office space from a joint venture between Tower Realty Partners and The Praedium Group. The space is located in the Oak Ridge Office Park in Orlando. Tiffany Zullo of Tower Realty represented the owner.
VIRGINIA — Orlando, Fla.-based Cuhaci & Peterson Architects has been selected to remodel four Food Lion grocery stores in Ettrick and Richmond, Va. The stores span an average of 30,000 square feet. The work will include expanding some of Food Lion’s departments and emphasizing its “Take a Fresh Look” campaign.
MANASSAS, VA. — A joint venture among Potomac Capital Advisors, Baltimore-based Alex. Brown Realty and Bethesda, Md.-based Spectrum Partners has acquired the 176,000-square-foot Westgate Plaza Shopping Center from Principal Real Estate Investors for $25 million. The property, which is anchored by Giant Foods and Barnes & Noble Booksellers, is located at 8139 Sudley Rd. in Manassas. Additional tenants include Panera Bread, Pier 1 Imports, Ruby Tuesdays and Total Wine & More. Spectrum represented itself in the transaction.
MIAMI — Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Moss & Associates has completed construction of two Publix stores in Miami. A 31,000-square-foot store in Mary Brickell Village, located on South Miami Avenue, has been built in an existing parking structure. Moss & Associates has also finished a 39,000-square-foot prototype building in the Coral Way section of Miami. This project necessitated new site drainage, lighting and asphalt pavement.
DELRAY BEACH, FLA. — Blue Bell Creameries has purchased 2.25 acres of land for a future office and distribution facility from West Atlantic Property Associates for $1.4 million. The land is located at 9641 W. Atlantic Ave. in Delray Beach. William Mankin of Fort Myers, Fla.-based Colliers Arnold represented Blue Bell, and Gordon Lunt of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Berger Commercial Realty Corp. represented West Atlantic.
