WALTON, KY. — Regency Centers has opened its 139,610-square-foot Walton Towne Center, located at the intersection of Mary Grubbs Highway and Interstate 75 in Walton. The center is anchored by an 116,471-square-foot Kroger Marketplace, which features a gas station; an 18,000-square-foot Kroger Liquor store sits next door to the Kroger. Kohl’s Department Store and outparcels featuring McDonald’s, Heritage Bank, The Bank of Kentucky and Walton Pharmacy & Food Mart have opened.

POMPANO BEACH, FLA. — Tal Frydman and Chad Bishop of Marcus & Millichap’s Fort Lauderdale, Fla., office represented both parties in a Pompano Beach private investor’s sale of the 180-unit Banyan Village East to a Miami-based management company for $7.67 million. The property, located at 1880 N.E. 48th St. in Pompano Beach, has 147 vacant units. The buyer plans to rent the unsold condos as apartments.
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. — Lee Hall Plaza has purchased a 12,500-square-foot D&M Seafood Building and a 1,000-square-foot BP gas station from Davis Family Partnership for $2.8 million. The buyer will use the buildings, located at 1645 and 1649 Independence Blvd. in Virginia Beach, for future development. Thalhimer’s John Duffy, Christopher Rouzie and Drew Haynie brokered the transaction.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North Carolina-based Grubb Properties has broken ground on a mixed-use complex, located at 1515 Elizabeth Ave. in Charlotte, featuring a 78,000-square-foot medical office building, 20,000-square feet of retail space and the 282-unit Sterling Elizabeth Apartment Homes. The site is located near the entrance to Presbyterian Hospital and is part of the overall Elizabeth Avenue development plan that calls for 250,000 square feet of retail, 340,000 square feet of office space and 850 residences. Grubb Properties’ project is expected to cost $75 million and will deliver in early 2010.
BUFORD, COMMERCE AND WEST POINT, GA. — Atlanta Land Group has closed three transactions in Georgia worth more than $30 million. At the intersection of Interstate 85 and Georgia Highway 20 in Buford, BrandsMart USA has purchased 30.6 acres for a future store from Bill Heard Enterprises for $15.3 million. ALG’s Jeff Kerker, Mike Cahalan and Robert Armstrong brokered the transaction. Cahalan and Armstrong, along with ALG’s David Chalmers and Michaela McKenzie, represented a private party’s purchase of 137 acres in Commerce from Joe Craven of Craven Pottery for $14.8 million. Jay Leslie assisted Armstrong in representing Nimish Inc.’s purchase of 4 acres, located at the intersection of I-85 and Kia Boulevard in West Point, from Little Creek for $870,000. The buyer will build a 120-room Holiday Inn Express on the site.
HERMITAGE, TENN. — Grubb & Ellis Apartment REIT has acquired the 350-unit Canyon Ridge Apartments, located at 3868 Central Pike in Hermitage, from an affiliate of Principal Real Estate Investors for an undisclosed amount. The complex, which was built in 2005, encompasses 13 three-story buildings on 22.5 acres. Amenities include a fitness center, cyber café, lap pool and two tanning salons. Scott Tyrone and Perry Gooch of Collier Turley Martin Tucker’s Brentwood, Tenn., office represented the seller.
LAKELAND, FLA. — Seaman Development Corp. has acquired 44 acres of industrial land, located on Airport and Gay roads in Lakeland, from a private seller for $3 million. Plans for the land include expanding Rooms To Go’s existing warehouse footprint by more than 700,000 square feet. The expansion, which will cost $16 million, will make the warehouse the largest in Polk County. No start date has been set.
DAVENPORT, FLA. — Orlando, Fla.-based HHCP Healthcare recently completed construction on a more than 60,000-square-foot addition to the Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport. The project added 52 new patient beds to the fourth floor and expanded the fifth floor. HHCP Healthcare built the hospital in 1997 and has since completed eight additions to the structure.
NORFOLK, VA. — An affiliate of Norfolk-based Harbor Group International has acquired the 366,106-square-foot World Trade Center, located at 101 W. Main St. in Norfolk, from an undisclosed party. The purchase price was not disclosed. The nine-story office building, which is 88 percent occupied, features three conference rooms, balconies on the top four floors and a fitness center.
JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — An affiliate of Boca Raton, Fla.-based Woolbright Development has sold the 93,272-square-foot Cobblestone Crossings Shopping Center to an affiliate of Aventura, Fla.-based Halberstein Investments for $13.85 million. The property is anchored by a 39,795-square-foot Publix and is 100 percent leased to Edward Jones & Co., GNC, Hair Cuttery, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and Subway. Cobblestone, located at the intersection of Monument and McCormick roads in Jacksonville, was built in 1987. Mark Gilbert, Adam Feinstein and Eric Williams of Cushman & Wakefield’s Miami office and Karl Johnston of the company’s Jacksonville office represented the seller.
