DELAND, FLA. — Edwards Construction Services has begun construction on the $5.2 million, 62,870-square-foot manufacturing facility in DeLand for Intellitec Products, a supplier of specialty vehicle electronics. The facility will include 37,445 square feet of factory/industrial space, 6,415 square feet of office space, six loading docks, and 19,010 square feet of future expansion space. The project is slated for completion in February 2008, and is designed by Horton Harley Carter.

ATLANTA — Regent Partners has topped out 3344 Peachtree and its luxury home component, SOVEREIGN, in the Buckhead submarket of Atlanta. Rising 635 feet, the landmark 50-story mixed-use building is scheduled for completion in spring 2008, with business tenants occupying the building next spring and residents moving in next summer. 3344 Peachtree has 500,000 square feet of Class A office and retail space that is currently 50 percent leased to tenants such as Jones Lang LaSalle, Fifth Third Bank and Littler Mendelson, PLC. The building will also be home to The Buckhead Club as well as Buckhead Life’s newest signature restaurant and Fresh 2 Order café.

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — Tarrytown-based DLC Management Corp., a national owner and operator of open-air shopping centers, has acquired a portfolio consisting of seven shopping centers throughout the Southeast. The acquisition includes Brookwood Village, located at the intersection of Peachtree and Brighton roads in Atlanta; Cobb Center, located near Cumberland Mall in Smyrna, Ga.; Greystone Village in Raleigh, N.C.; Highland Square in Jacksonville, Fla.; North Pointe in Columbia, S.C.; Peachtree Parkway Plaza in Norcross, Ga.; and Poplar Springs Plaza in Duncan, S.C.

DULLES, VA. — The retail portion of Dulles 28 Centre, a 300-acre master-planned development located at the interchange of Virginia Route 28 and Waxpool Road (Route 265) at Pacific Boulevard in Dulles, is opening in November. Lerner Enterprises and The Tower Companies, both of North Bethesda, Md., developed the lifestyle retail center portion. Target and Wegmans will anchor the retail portion.

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — SIKON Construction Corp. has begun work on the two-story, 40,000-square-foot Tapestry Park, a mixed-use European Village development located at Southside Boulevard and Gate Parkway in Jacksonville. Joyce Development Group is developing the project. The ground floor will feature 24,000 square feet of retail space and the second floor will contain 16,000 square feet of Class A office space. Maitland, Fla.-based Charlan Brock & Associates designed the project, which is slated for completion in spring 2008.

MAITLAND, FLA. — Trevi Development will develop a 100,000-square-foot upscale retail and office center, located at Sybelia Parkway and U.S. Highway 17-92 in downtown Maitland that will also house the Maitland Fire Department. The four-story facility will include office space on the upper floors and upscale retail space and the Fire Department facilities on the ground floor. Trevi will begin construction in 2009 as part of the downtown Maitland redevelopment project that was recently approved by Maitland city commissioners.

MIAMI — Argent Ventures is redeveloping the former Omni International Mall in Miami into a mixed-use complex. Miller Construction Co. will begin Phase I this month, which will include converting the top four floors into 320,000 square feet of Class A office space. Phase II will include 300,000 square feet of retail space and the addition of a fourth story to the building and parking deck.

TAMPA, ORLANDO, LAKE MARY AND OLDSMAR, FLA. — A New York-based private equity fund acquired a nine-building portfolio in Central Florida for $77.8 million from a Tampa-based commercial developer. The portfolio consists of approximately 710,500 square feet of Class A industrial/flex and office space. Seven buildings, or approximately 430,000 square feet, is located in the Tampa submarkets of Pinellas County and the airport. Two buildings are located in the Orlando submarkets of southwest Orange County and Seminole County. The portfolio is 99 percent leased. David Metalonis and John Crotty with the Fort Lauderdale based-Colliers Abood Wood-Fay investment sales team sourced and structured the transaction, and Jay Ziv, also of Colliers Abood Wood-Fay, represented the buyer.

ROSWELL, GA. — An investment group sponsored by Block & Co. has acquired five low-rise office buildings in Roswell from A-Colonial Center. The portfolio, situated on 14.8 acres in the Colonial Center at Mansell Overlook business park, is comprised of two two-story buildings and three single-story buildings totaling 188,400 square feet. The buildings are 78 percent leased. Atlanta based-Resource Real Estate Partners represented the seller, and Kenneth Block and Brian Beggs of Kansas City-based Block & Co. represented the buyer in the transaction.

FORT MYERS, FLA. — Center Town Commons is developing Daniels Commons, a four-building office park in Fort Myers. The office park, situated on 5 acres at Daniels Parkway and Appaloosa Lane, will consist of two one-story buildings totaling 11,025 square feet; one building zoned as a medical office; and a two-story building that will house office condos. Community Engineering Services is providing engineering services. Completion is slated for summer 2008.
