CHARLOTTE, N.C. — KeyBank has provided a $40 million acquisition loan to Weston Inc. for the purchase of an industrial portfolio in North and South Carolina. Details on the individual facilities were not disclosed, but the portfolio spans five buildings, 1.5 million square feet, and is located in the Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Greenville and Augusta industrial markets. Weston is a privately owned company based in Cleveland that owns more than 13 million square feet of industrial space nationwide.

BLUFFTON, S.C. — Boca Raton, Fla.-based Halvorsen Holdings is planning to develop May River Crossing, a 70,200-square-foot, Publix-anchored shopping center in Bluffton, 16 miles north of downtown Savannah and 16 miles west of Hilton Head Island. May River Crossing will be situated on 15 acres on the northeast corner of Okatie Highway and May River Road. Publix will occupy 48,000 square feet and will feature a drive-thru pharmacy. There is 21,845 square feet of available space. May River Crossing’s committed tenants include a nail salon, national hair salon and a national cellphone provider. A timeline for construction was not disclosed.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Coworking firm Spaces has signed an office lease to occupy the bottom two floors of Falls Tower in downtown Greenville. Falls Tower is a 184,000-square-foot office building under construction at 423 S. Main St. as part of Centennial American Properties’ Camperdown development. This marks Spaces’ first location in South Carolina. It will occupy 28,900 square feet, business solutions firm Elliott Davis will occupy 65,000 square feet and Bank of America will occupy 32,000 square feet at Falls Tower. At full buildout, Camperdown will offer office, residential, retail and hotel space, as well as an outdoor courtyard. Centennial American Properties expects to complete Falls Tower in mid-2020. Charles Gouch and Doug Webster of CBRE represented the landlord and developer in lease negotiations.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Beach Co. has broken ground on Canvas, a mixed-use development in downtown Greenville. At full buildout, Canvas will offer 48 apartment units, 31 townhomes, 21,805 square feet of retail space and the renovation of a 130,000-square-foot office building. Construction is expected to last 18 months, with first units available for occupancy in early 2020.

DUNCAN, S.C. — Panattoni Development Co. Inc. and PCCP LLC have formed a joint venture to develop Apple Valley Industrial Park Phase IV, a two-building, 522,670-square-foot industrial project in Duncan. Building I will span 195,000 square feet and Building II will span 327,670 square feet. Construction began May 1 with a delivery date anticipated for early 2020. Phase IV is situated adjacent to the first three phases of the industrial park, which will span 1.4 million square feet at full buildout. Apple Valley Industrial Park is situated near Interstate 85, two miles south of BMW’s manufacturing facility in Spartanburg and six miles south of Inland Port Greer.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Topgolf has opened its 50th venue in the United States this past Friday in Greenville. The three-tier, 55,000-square-foot driving range and bar is located at 201 Clifton Court, 10 miles from downtown Greenville and directly off Interstate 85. The new Topgolf features a chef-driven menu, top-shelf drinks, big screen TVs, flexible private event spaces and music in climate-controlled hitting bays. More than 350 full- and part-time employees were hired in advance of the opening. The new Topgolf will host a summer academy for children ages 6 through 12 as well as events like College Night for local college students.

DUNCAN, S.C. — Liberty Property Trust (LPT) has signed Rochling Automotive USA and XPO Logistics to industrial leases at Hillside Industrial Park in Duncan. Hillside Industrial Park is situated near U.S. Highway 290, less than a mile from the Interstate 85 interchange. Rochling Automotive has renewed its 124,800-square-foot, full-building lease at 265 East Parkway. The German-based automotive company designs and engineers components and system solutions in the fields of aerodynamics, propulsion and new mobility for automotive manufacturers globally. Bobby Lyons of Lyons Industrial represented the tenant in the lease transaction. Bryan Blythe represented LPT internally. The industrial REIT also signed XPO Logistics to a 32,000-square-foot lease at 170 Parkway West. Russell Perry and Russell Perry Jr. of R.E. GREENVILLE, S.C. — A partnership between Cardinal Ventures LLC and Blake Management Group will develop an 88,000-square-foot seniors housing community in Greenville. The property will offer assisted living units in studio, one- and two-bedroom formats and memory care units in studio and one-bedroom floor plans. Construction is scheduled to be complete by spring 2020.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Cushman & Wakefield has arranged the sale of The Southern @ 1051, a 350-unit student housing community located near the University of South Carolina in Columbia. The property offers one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units. Community amenities include a swimming pool, clubhouse, package service, picnic and barbecue area, business center, fitness center and basketball and volleyball courts. Travis Prince, Victoria Marks, Jordan McCarley and Paul Marley of Cushman & Wakefield arranged the disposition on behalf of the seller, an undisclosed CMBS trust. Ernet Capital Management acquired the property for an undisclosed amount.

AIKEN, S.C. — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the $7.1 million sale of Aiken Exchange, a 101,488-square-foot shopping center in Aiken that is shadow-anchored by Target. Built in 2002 about 20 miles northeast of downtown Augusta, the property is anchored by PetSmart and Planet Fitness. Zach Taylor and Taylor McMinn of Marcus & Millichap’s Taylor McMinn Retail Group represented the seller, Lamar Cos., in the transaction. Marc Strauss, also of Marcus & Millichap, represented the buyer, Aiken Exchange Plaza LLC. The buyer purchased the shopping center in a 1031 exchange.
