SCHERTZ, TEXAS — Sysco Corp. has purchased 50 acres of land from San Antonio One L.P. in order to build a 635,000-square-foot distribution facility. The land is located on Schwab Road in Schertz. Sysco will consolidate two existing facilities in San Antonio and Round Rock into the new property, which is expected to be operational by this summer. Houston Commercial Real Estate's Bill McDade represented Sysco in the transaction. Kit Corbin of Grubb & Ellis represented the seller.
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Corpus Christi-based Beecroft Construction will break ground next month on a 150,000-square-foot facility in Corpus Christi for L&F Distributors. The property will be located on State Highway 44 between Clarkwood and Bockholt roads. L&F Distributors' new space will be twice as big as its current Corpus Christi location; the company will employ 175 workers in the new building. St. Louis-based S.M. Wilson and Co. is also helping oversee the project. NAI Cravey Real Estate Services brokered the original land sale.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — National Presort Inc. has signed a lease with BCED Investments for a 100,875-square-foot warehouse in Fort Worth's CentrePort Business Park. The property is located at 14901 Trinity Blvd. The tenant will move into its new home from its current location on La Reunion Parkway in Dallas as soon as construction is finished. FORNEY, TEXAS — Two undisclosed parties have traded the 31,220-square-foot Mustang Crossing shopping center in an REO sale. The sale price was not disclosed. Located at 1012 US Highway 80 in Forney, the center is shadow-anchored by Lowe's and Walmart Supercenter. Tommy Tucker of Marcus & Millichap's Dallas office brokered the sale.
PALESTINE, TEXAS — Graham Investments has sold the 209,197-square-foot Palestine Mall to the City of Palestine. The 30-year-old property, which is located at 2017 South Loop 256 in Palestine, was listed for $4.5 million. Upon renovation, the development will be the new home of the city's public library, Texas State Technical College and an early-start college program for high school students. The Woodmont Company's Brad Cruickshank represented the seller. Cody Harris of United Country-Southland Realty represented the buyer.
DALLAS — KAI Texas has begun designing the new Highland Hills Branch Library, a $4.5 million project that is expected to break ground this fall. Located at 6200 Bonnie View Road in Dallas, the 18,000-square-foot property is being designed to LEED Gold standards for the City of Dallas. The new structure will replace a 50-year-old library situated near the 4-acre site. Officials expect to finish the project 10 months after breaking ground.
EULESS, TEXAS — The General Services Administration has leased 40,000 square feet of office space from an undisclosed landlord in Westpark Centre, located at 150 Westpark Way in Euless. The space will be occupied by the United States Customs and Border Protection, an offshoot of the Department of Homeland Security. Westpark Centre is now 90 percent occupied. FORT WORTH, TEXAS — ThinkCash has signed a 63,312-square-foot lease renewal with General Electric Credit Equity for space in its International Plaza Building. The lease includes a 21,176-square-foot expansion in the building, which is located at 4150 International Plaza in Fort Worth. The lease also includes a stipulation that the property will be renamed the ThinkCash Building. Jim Lob of UGL Equis' Dallas office represented the tenant.
