IRVINE, CALIF. — GFE Goddard Investment LLC has acquired Safari Technology Park, a 47,815-square-foot office complex located at 300 – 320 Goddard Way in Irvine, for an undisclosed price. The property consists of three Class A, two-story office buildings, which feature 12 suites. Richard Pincott of CB Richard Ellis’ Newport Beach, Calif., office represented the buyer; Michael Hartel, Dan Vittone and Alan Pekarcik of Voit Real Estate Services’ Irvine office represented the seller, Edison Spectrum Partners LLC, in the transaction.

SAN DIEGO — Barnhart Inc. has been selected by the U.S. Navy for the construction of building and facility upgrades to Berth Lima at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego. The $23 million project includes the construction of a security building, a pump house building, a restroom/payphone building, two masonry and steel watchtowers, two guard houses, security fencing, high-mast security lighting, utility upgrades and surveillance infrastructure. Waterfront upgrades include widening the existing quay wall by two feet, installing 80 new primary fender piles, fender panels and armor rock. Completion is slated for January 2010.

OXNARD, CALIF. — Woolf Enterprises has purchased a 39,082-square-foot produce processing facility in Oxnard. Located at 650 Buena Vista Ave., the property sold for $2.65 million. The seller was West Coast Pre-Cooling Oxnard LLC. Stuart Scott of DAUM Commercial Real Estate Services’ Ventura, Calif., office represented both parties in the transaction.

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. — S&J Property Holdings LLC has completed the disposition of a 12,050-square-foot industrial facility, which is located within Carroll Mesa Industrial Park at 9235 Brown Deer Park in San Diego’s Sorrento Mesa area. ZJR LLC purchased the single-story, freestanding office/warehouse building for $2.2 million. The building is currently occupied by ZJR LLC, dba One Source Distributing. Dean Asaro of CB Richard Ellis represented the seller; Jed Stirnkorb, also of CB Richard Ellis, represented the buyer in the transaction.

SAN DIEGO — Wakeland Housing and Development Corp. has acquired Village Green Apartments, a 94-unit multifamily community located at 4140-4150 Bonillo Dr. in San Diego. Odom Family LP sold the property for $11.5 million. The property features 56 two-bedroom/two-bath units, 24 two-bedroom/one-and-a-half bath units and 15 three-bedroom/two-bath units. Additionally, the community features a swimming pool, a spa, a playground and laundry facilities. Tim Kerrigan, Eric Comer, Jim Neil and Merrick Matricardi of CB Richard Ellis represented both parties in the transaction.

LOS ANGELES — McCarthy Building Companies Inc., serving as general contractor, has topped out construction for Los Angeles Unified School District’s South Region High School #2, which is located at the corner of South Central and East Gage Avenues in Los Angeles. The 220,000-square-foot project consists of eight buildings, which include three three-story classroom buildings, a three-story administrative and classroom building, and a two-story music, sports and multi-purpose complex. SAN DIEGO — Johnson & Jennings General Construction has completed the tenant improvement (T.I.) construction for Carl Zeiss Vision Americas Pacific regional headquarters in San Diego. Improvements for the 33,000-square-foot facility included build-out of two floors of offices, an exterior balcony for company functions, a conference center, and a reception area. Johnson & Jennings was retained by Carl Ziess Vision, a provider of lenses, coatings, Rx Lab services and equipment, for the $2.2 million project. Gensler San Diego provided architectural services for the project.

RANCHO BERNARDO, CALIF. — Newmark Realty Capital has arranged $3.1 million in financing for Bernardo Medical Office Building, which is located on Bernardo Center Drive in Rancho Bernardo. The 33,970-square-foot facility is occupied by medical and dental tenants. James Dick of Newmark’s Irvine, Calif., office secured the 15-year-loan for the borrower, Gilbert Martin Trust, through a San Diego-based credit union.
