ATLANTA — Intuit (NASDAQ: INTU), a global financial technology platform, has opened its 360,000-square-foot office in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. The 10-story space will serve as a hub for the company as the only Intuit office in the Southeast, as well as the corporate headquarters for Mailchimp, a locally based email marketing platform that Intuit acquired in 2021 for $5.7 billion.

Atlanta-based New City Properties delivered Intuit’s new space as part of the developer’s Fourth Ward development. The office sits along the Eastside Trail of the Atlanta BeltLine, a 22-mile rail loop that connects 45 distinct neighborhoods around the city.

Mailchimp was formerly headquartered in Ponce City Market, Jamestown’s massive mixed-use redevelopment that also sits on the Eastside Trail in Old Fourth Ward, two blocks away from the new office building.

The new space at Fourth Ward will accommodate nearly 1,000 current Intuit employees and provide space for future growth. The office is already one of Intuit’s top five largest campuses globally.

“It’s no secret that Atlanta is a bustling tech ecosystem that Mailchimp has been central to for over 20 years,” says Rania Succar, senior vice president and general manager of Intuit Mailchimp. “Our beautiful new workspace is one more way to express our commitment to this great city and to do our part to contribute to this thriving community while also amplifying our culture.”

The design team for the new office space includes inhouse design agencies Wink Creative and the Intuit Global Real Estate & Workplace Design team, as well as Olson Kundig (architect for Fourth Ward), Future Green (landscape architect), Atlanta-based TVS (architect of record) and San Francisco-based Studio O+A (workplace design consultant). New City Properties is targeting LEED Gold and Fitwel certifications.

The new offices include open floor plans with distinct “neighborhoods” for Intuit and Mailchimp’s various departments, as well as a creative lab for media creation, including video, photography and podcasting. Other features include a maker space; wellness center; two-story, stadium-style meeting room for company-wide meetings; more than 180 art murals; and more than 100 conference, huddle and team project rooms, with the conference rooms designed to resemble small business storefronts.

In addition to various indoor amenities, the property will feature a ninth-floor bridge with an outdoor patio, as well as several exterior porches. The Fourth Ward development also connects directly to the Eastside Trail and features a one-acre central plaza, as well as a social club with shared amenity space for all tenants.

In addition to Mailchimp, other services on the Intuit platform include Intuit TurboTax, Credit Karma and QuickBooks. Based in Mountain View, California, Intuit had 17,300 employees as of the end of its fiscal year 2022.

Intuit’s stock price closed on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at $643.17 per share, up from $421.74 one year ago, a 52.5 percent increase.
