ORLANDO, FLA. — SchenkelShultz Architecture has finished the $50 million, 380,570-square-foot replacement Maynard Evans High School, located in Orlando. The facility includes three, 3-story classroom buildings with 2,400 student stations, a media center, gymnasium, auditorium, a medical health and dental clinic, an interactive child development lab and an agriculture lab. Orlando-based The Williams Co. was the construction manager for the project.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -— Seattle-based Amazon.com has plans to open a new 1 million-square-foot fulfillment center in Spartanburg County, located on a site near John Dodd Road. Amazon opened its first South Carolina fulfillment center last year in Lexington County's Saxe Gotha Industrial Park. Hiring for the new fulfillment center will begin later this year and the facility is expected to be operational this fall.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A joint venture has formed between Global Growth Trust and Woodfield Investments to develop a $30 million, 297-unit, garden-style apartment complex in Charlotte. The partnership expects to close on 13-acres of land to develop the property within the next 30 days. Amenities will include a club room, cyber cafe, fitness center and resort style pool. Global Growth Trust is sponsored by CNL Financial Group and advised by CNL Global Growth Advisors.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Clarion Partners has formed a joint venture with The Residential Group to build the $37 million, 291-unit The Crest at Brier Creek, located at the intersection of U.S. 70 and Interstate 540 in Raleigh. Amenities will include a clubhouse, fitness center, pool and grill area. Site work began this month and completion is slated for June 2013.

MECHANICSVILLE, VA. — The 112,000-square-foot Brandy Hill Plaza, a retail and office property located at 7053-7095 Mechanicsville Tpke. in Mechanicsville, has been sold on Auction.com for $3.3 million. 7055 Brandy Hill Plaza Associates purchased the note on the center as a deed in lieu of foreclosure and will retain the center as an investment. Richard Thalhimer of Cushman & Wakefield/Thalhimer's Richmond, Va., office represented the buyer in the transaction.

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLA. — Marcus & Millichap has brokered the $2.97 million sale of a 3,578-square-foot, net-leased Chase Bank, located at 971 N. State Rd. 434 in Altamonte Springs. The property is in a Publix-anchored shopping center. Ray Turchi and Chris Travis of Marcus & Millichap's Orlando office represented the seller, a private investor, in the transaction. Judson Kauffman and Glen Kunofsky of the firm's Manhattan office represented the seller in the transaction.

MURFREESBORO,TENN. — A 10,125-square-foot CVS/pharmacy, located at 607 SE Broad St. in Murfreesboro, has been sold for $2.96 million. CVS is on a 20-year, triple-net lease. Dan Cooper of Cleveland-based The Cooper Group arranged the sale on behalf of the seller, a New York-based private company, in the transaction and procured the buyer, a Texas-based private group.
