CHICAGO — Chicago-based Structured Development has completed the redevelopment of the form Jays Foods Inc. plant into a mix of industrial and office space on the city’s Far South Side. The 229,000-square-foot plant, which is located on 14 acres at Cottage Grove Avenue and 99th Street, has been renovated into 180,000-square-foot, two-building multi-tenant complex. The project includes the original 125,000-square-foot building at 825 E. 99th St., as well as a 104,000-square-foot warehouse at 1001 E. 99th St. Structured acquired the property from Jays in 2005 in a sale/leaseback transaction, and the tenant vacated the site in 2007. Structured has hired Jones Lang LaSalle to market the property for sale, while also marketing the available space for lease to office and industrial tenants. Two tenants have leased space within the original building; Wide Open West LLC has taken 32,000 square feet and G.W. Berkheimer leases 20,000 square feet.
