Westport Properties Inc. will manage and operate the Class A property, which totals 123,000 square feet of climate- and non-climate-controlled space, under its U.S. Storage Centers brand.

MESQUITE, TEXAS — Conor Commercial Real Estate, a division of The McShane Cos., has completed Skyline Commerce Center, a 198,109-square-foot industrial project located in the eastern Dallas suburb of Mesquite. The property consists of two buildings on a 12.3-acre site that fronts Interstate 30. Building 1 totals 135,396 square feet and features 32-foot clear heights, 12 trailer parking stalls and 133 car parking spaces. Building 2 spans 62,713 square feet and features 28-foot clear heights and 122 car parking spaces.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, ILL. — Krusinski Construction Co. (KCC) has completed the buildout of an 11,500-square-foot rehabilitation center for Shirley Ryan AbilityLab at Enterprise Office Campus in Arlington Heights. This project is the fourth Chicagoland facility that KCC has completed for Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, which was formerly known as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. The Arlington Heights location features a therapeutic area, private therapy rooms, auxiliary rooms and a staff area. The project team included Cannon Design, Manhard Consulting and Ascent.

BDG-Watertown-Life-Sciences

WATERTOWN, MASS. — Boston Development Group (BDG) has received approval from the Watertown Zoning Board of Appeals to move forward with construction of a new life sciences project in the western Boston suburb. Elkus Manfredi Architects is designing the project, which will be built in two phases and will include traditional office, lab and research and development uses. Construction of Phase I, which will feature 200,000 square feet of office and lab space and open green space, is scheduled to begin during the first quarter.

ARLINGTON, VA. — Hana, a flexible office space provider and subsidiary of CBRE Group, has opened a 39,000-square-foot location in Arlington known as Hana at National Landing. JBG Smith is the owner and developer of the larger 11-story office building, which is located at 2451 Crystal Drive. The property includes private office suites dubbed “Hana Team,” a conference and events space called “Hana Meet” and a portion of the unit dedicated to traditional coworking known as “Hana Share.” Hana at National Landing is located in the center of the National Landing submarket, home to Amazon’s second headquarters. The area has dining options, cultural attractions, fitness studios, outdoor parks and bike trails. The property is situated 1.2 miles from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Hana at National Landing sits within Arlington’s Crystal City, part of Pentagon City and Potomac Yard. The property looks out over the Potomac River and Washington, D.C., skyline. A planned pedestrian bridge will connect Hana to Reagan National Airport. Some nearby bars and restaurants include Zen Bistro & Wine Bar, Legal Sea Foods and Highline RxR. Hana’s property at National Landing marks the company’s first East Coast location.

PHOENIX — Birmingham, Ala.-based LIV Development and McShane Construction Co. are developing an apartment community on 10.8 acres in Phoenix. The three-story, multi-building community will feature 242 apartments in a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom layouts. Units will offer vinyl plank and carpet flooring, granite countertops, full-height kitchen backsplash tile, stainless steel appliances and lots of natural light. Additionally, the property will feature 1.5 acres of shared amenity space, including a 4,000-square-foot clubhouse, swimming pool, dog park and courtyards offering outdoor seating, barbeque areas and cabanas. Humphreys & Partners Architects is the architect of record for the project, which is slated for completion in August 2022.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS — Texas-based developer Presidium has broken ground on Presidium Berkshire, a 340-unit apartment community located near Alliance Town Center in Fort Worth. Designed by Dallas-based O’Brien Architects, the 352,000-square-foot property will feature units with stainless steel appliances, individual washers and dryers and high-end finishes. Amenities will include a clubhouse with gaming tables and a speakeasy-style bar, a business center with private offices and conference rooms, demonstration kitchen, two-story fitness center, dog park, pool and outdoor grilling stations. Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer for the project, and Provident General Contractors is handling construction, which is slated for a mid-late 2022 completion.

Champions-Circle-Business-Park-Fort-Worth

FORT WORTH, TEXAS — A joint venture between Canadian firm Hopewell Development LP and New York-based GTIS Partners LP has acquired land in the Alliance submarket of Fort Worth for the development of Champions Circle Business Park. The 361,000-square-foot industrial project will consist of three buildings that will offer proximity to Interstates 35 and 820. Construction is scheduled to begin in March and to be complete in the first quarter of next year. Nathan Denton and Reid Bassinger of Lee & Associates represented the development team in its acquisition of the land. Dustin Volz, Stephen Bailey and Wells Waller of JLL arranged the joint venture partnership between Hopewell and GTIS.

PALATINE, ILL. — Midwest Industrial Funds (MIF) and its joint venture partner PCCP have purchased a 25-acre site on Sellstrom Drive in Palatine, a northwestern suburb of Chicago. The developers are building a $50 million speculative industrial project spanning two buildings and 428,000 square feet. It will be branded as Palatine Corporate Center. Demolition of three existing buildings at the site will commence in February. Completion of the new buildings is slated for the fourth quarter of this year. Steve Trapp and Sam Durkin of JLL represented the undisclosed seller. The duo has also been retained by MIF to market the new buildings for lease. MIF’s in-house construction arm, MIF Construction LLC, will serve as the general contractor. Harris Architects and Spaceco provided design services for the project.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Haven Communities and Wheelock Street Capital have purchased a 1.9-acre site at the corner of South Church and West Bland streets in Charlotte’s South End district. The firms were able to buy the property with the assistance of its capital advisor, Patterson Real Estate Advisory Group. Haven and Wheelock are planning to co-develop Haven South End, a 304-unit, Class A multifamily development at the site. The partnership plans to break ground this summer. Haven South End is located near the LYNX Blue Line’s Bland Street Station and the Charlotte Rail Trail and has immediate access across I-277 into Uptown Charlotte. Haven Communities is a developer of multifamily and student housing communities and mixed-use developments across the Southeast, Wheelock is a private real estate investment firm and Patterson is a capital placement and real estate finance advisory firm.
