WESTBOROUGH, MASS. — Amazon will open a new 350,000-square-foot robotics innovation hub in Westborough, located approximately 30 miles west of Boston. The facility will feature corporate offices, research and development labs and manufacturing space. The move is also expected to bring about 200 new tech and advanced manufacturing jobs to Massachusetts. Atlantic Management is developing the facility, which is slated for completion in 2021.

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Dallas-based developer StreetLights Residential has broken ground on The Jackson, a 340-unit multifamily community located within the Viridian master-planned development in Arlington. The property will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units in addition to limited two-story floor plans known as “carriage units.” Residences will range in size from 588 to 1,671 square feet and feature granite countertops, custom cabinetry and spa-inspired bathrooms. Amenities will include coworking spaces, a creative makerspace with a chef’s kitchen, a private lounge with a coffee bar, fitness center with a flex room for yoga and spin, a resort-style pool and outdoor courtyard spaces. WDG Architecture designed the project, and SLR Construction LLC is serving as the general contractor. Residences are expected to be available for occupancy in fall 2020.
BROOKFIELD, WIS. — Pathway to Living and Caddis Healthcare Real Estate have opened Heartis Village Brookfield, an assisted living and memory care community in Brookfield, a suburb of Milwaukee. The property totals 70 assisted living units and 24 memory care units on a 10-acre plot. Assisted living units range in size from 351 to 917 square feet. Memory care units range in size between 293 to 306 square feet. During development, Caddis Healthcare gifted 2.9 acres of land to the city of Brookfield to support the development of a public park. Heartis Village Brookfield is the fourth Heartis-owned community managed by Pathway.
ELGIN, ILL. — Conor Commercial Real Estate and partner Globe Corp. have completed development of Northwest Pointe III in Elgin. The project consists of two buildings spanning a combined 349,080 square feet. The property marks Conor’s third development within the Northwest Corporate Park. The site is located 1.5 miles from the Randall Road four-way interchange, which provides access to I-90. The buildings each feature a clear height of 32 feet, 20 dock doors and two drive-in doors. McShane Construction Co. was the general contractor and Ware Malcomb was the architect.
KANSAS CITY, MO. — Linwood Investors LLC has broken ground on its $8 million redevelopment of Linwood Square, a blighted retail strip center in the Linwood-Prospect corridor on Kansas City’s east side. The project complements the redevelopment of the Linwood Shopping Center, which the company completed in 2017. Linwood Square is a 55,000-square-foot property originally built in 1992. Project plans call for new exterior facades and roofing as well as energy-efficient HVAC, LED lighting and an interior redesign. Project funding comes from public incentives and private financing. The public improvements include funding from the Central City Economic Development Sales Tax Fund, Tax-Increment Financing Commission and Public Improvements Advisory Committee. Led by UMB Financial Corp., private financing partners include Bank of Blue Valley, Community America Credit Union and Arvest Bank. The project team includes architect Hoefer Wysocki and general contractor Centric. Completion is slated for summer 2020.
NEW YORK CITY — Brookfield Properties has opened One Manhattan West, a 2.1 million-square-foot office high-rise tower in Midtown Manhattan. The 67-story, Class A building is part of the Manhattan West mixed-use development that will include 6 million square feet of office space when construction is complete. The development will also include an 844-unit apartment building that will be branded The Eugene and a Pendry Manhattan West hotel. One Manhattan West was approximately 90 percent leased when it opened, with a tenant roster including the National Hockey League, as well as law firms McKool Smith and Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. The next phase of construction, Two Manhattan West, is slated for completion in 2022. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill served as the architect of One Manhattan West, and AECOM Tishman was the general contractor.
NORTH LAS VEGAS — CapRock Partners has broken ground on Interchange Industrial Center, a Class A industrial complex in North Las Vegas. The site, acquired from a private investor in 2019, is a 33-acre parcel located at the intersection of interstates 15 and 215. Interchange Industrial Center will consist of two industrial buildings, including a 509,000-square-foot, cross-dock warehouse designed for a Fortune 1000-caliber tenant and a 173,000-square-foot warehouse that can accommodate a single tenant or up to four tenants. The properties will also feature 32- to 36-foot clear building heights, ESFR sprinklers, 115 trailer parking stalls and 100 percent concrete 185-foot secured truck courts. Construction is slated for completion by late summer 2020. Interchange Industrial Center is CapRock’s first ground-up development outside of California.
YPSILANTI, MICH. — A new 12,296-square-foot healthcare facility known as the IHA Health Center @ EMU has opened. Situated at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, the health center will provide primary healthcare services to members of the EMU community as well as the community at large. In addition to primary care, the facility will offer women’s health services, urgent care services and an onsite third-party pharmacy operated by Campus Medical Pharmacy. Dr. Lisa Whipple serves as the site medical director for the primary care and gynecology team. The project represents a collaboration between St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor hospital and the university. EMU is also constructing an adjacent facility, the EMU Campus Wellness Center, that is set to open in January 2020. The total cost of the combined facilities is $14 million. EMU is the project owner. IHA is one of the largest multi-specialty groups in Michigan and is a wholly owned subsidiary of St. Joseph Mercy Health System.
HOUSTON — GID Development Group has broken ground on Phase II of Regent Square, a mixed-use project located at West Dallas and Dunlavy streets near Buffalo Bayou Park in Houston. Designed by Boston-based architecture firm CBT, Phase II will consist of 50,000 square feet of retail space, a 600-unit apartment building and activated community space. The retail space is expected to be available for occupancy by the first quarter of 2021, and the residential component is slated to be complete by the third quarter of 2021. Phase I of the project was completed in 2014. Arch-Con is the general contractor, and JLL is handling leasing of the retail space.
BOSTON — Kitchen remodeling firm Express Kitchens plans to significantly increase its Massachusetts footprint in 2020 by opening three new retail stores and five new showrooms in and around the Boston area. Express Kitchens will open stores in the suburbs of Lynn, Watertown, Dedham, Peabody, Reading, Medford, Brockton and Weymouth. Showrooms will display a range of kitchens, cabinets and countertops, which customers will be able to purchase for their homes in-store or from the company’s website.
