INDIANAPOLIS — Meridian Design Build has broken ground on a 367,808-square-foot speculative industrial building on behalf of developer Exeter Property Group in Indianapolis. The new facility will be situated on a 31.7-acre site at 5325 Seerley Road. The development will feature a clear height of 36 feet, 80 dock positions, four drive-in doors, 304 car parking stalls and 41 exterior trailer stalls. This is Meridian’s fourth project in the Indianapolis market. The project team includes JRA Architecture and Banning Engineering.

WICHITA, KAN. — TGC Group plans to break ground this fall on a 95-room Home2 Suites hotel in Wichita’s Delano District. TGC Hospitality Management will manage the hotel, located at 200 N. Sycamore St. The four-story development is slated for completion in winter 2020. All suites will feature separate living and bedroom space. The pet-friendly hotel will include complimentary breakfast and WiFi.
CHICAGO — Skender has completed construction of LinkedIn’s 46,000-square-foot Chicago headquarters expansion at 525 W. Monroe. A staircase now connects the existing space via two floors. The project includes large collaboration areas, open workstations, a salon, mother’s room as well as a fifth-floor amenity space with a garden lounge, game room and music room. California-based LinkedIn’s total footprint in the building is now 185,077 square feet. Skender collaborated with Gensler, ESD Global and Avison Young for the project.
PLANO, TEXAS — Granite Properties, a commercial investment and development firm with five offices around the country, will develop Granite Park Six, an 18-story, 415,000-square-foot office building within the 90-acre Granite Park mixed-use development in Plano. Designed by BOKA Powell, the Class A property will front State Highway 121 and feature a market café, customer lounge with coffee service, a bar, golf simulator, lecture hall, three conference centers and an outdoor amenity deck on the fifth floor. Balfour Beatty is serving as the general contractor for the project, construction of which could begin as early as the first quarter of 2020.
Bradbury Properties, Confluent Development Launch Next Phase of 100-Acre Industrial Hub in Metro Denver

DENVER — Bradbury Properties and Confluent Development have broken ground on three additional buildings at HighField Business Park, an industrial park located at the intersection of E-470 and Peoria Street southeast of Centennial Airport in metro Denver. Upon completion, the three projects will bring the 100-acre near to full build-out, spanning approximately 10 years and totaling 1.25 million square feet of industrial space. Only 12 acres on the park’s north end will remain undeveloped. The new buildings include a 202,000-square-foot, single-story facility, slated for completion in second-quarter 2020; and 160,000-square-foot and 130,000-square-foot speculative buildings, slated for completion in first-quarter 2020. Brinkman Construction and Ware Malcomb are serving as general contractor and architect, respectively, for the FedEx property. Murray & Stafford and Intergroup Architects comprise the project team for the spec buildings. The spec facilities will feature front-park, rear-load design with shared truck courts. HighField Business Park currently features 750,000 square feet of fully leased industrial space. Upon completion of this phase of development, the park will consist of six buildings totaling 800,000 square feet of space. KATY, TEXAS — General contractor Allied Orion Group has broken ground on Territory at Greenhouse Apartments, a 288-unit multifamily project in the western Houston suburb of Katy. Developed by Dhanani Private Equity Group, the Class A community will be located near Houston Methodist Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital and Cullen Park, as well as a multitude of dining, retail and entertainment options including LaCenterra in Cinco Ranch, City Centre, and Katy Mills Mall. Territory at Greenhouse’s units will feature one-, two- and three-bedroom units with stainless steel appliances, vinyl plank flooring and private balconies. Communal amenities will include a resort-style pool, fitness center, outdoor movie amphitheater, resident clubhouse and lounge, a business center and a dog park. Completion is slated for February 2020 and preleasing will begin this fall.
CAMBRIDGE, MASS. — Nauset Construction has completed Ten Essex, a 46-unit multifamily and retail property in Cambridge. Developed by 3MJ Realty LLC, the building offers three studios, 10 one-bedroom units, 19 two-bedroom units and 14 three-bedroom units. Five of the apartments have been designated as affordable housing. Additionally, the property houses 3,000 square feet of retail space and a parking garage. Golden Architects of Quincy, Perkins Eastman and Mark Boyes-Watson Architects collaboratively designed the project.
SAN DIEGO — BioMed Realty, a Blackstone portfolio company, and the University of California San Diego (UC San Diego) have opened the Center for Novel Therapeutics (CNT) on the UC San Diego Science Research Park campus. The 137,000-square-foot research hub leverages the strength of UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center with private sector companies looking to translate research into helping cancer patients worldwide. The development represents a $92 million investment by BioMed Realty. CNT is San Diego’s newest dedicated oncology research center with best-in-class facilities to advance life-changing treatments for cancer patients. Additionally, the facility includes the first academic-industry drug discovery incubator site in San Diego. CNT will continue UC San Diego’s “bench to bedside” approach, the transition of research from the laboratory space into the clinic and to patients through the promotion of new therapies. BioMed Realty designed the project with UC San Diego to include high-efficiency water-cooled central cooling, LED energy efficient light fixtures and photo-voltaic solar panels in the roof of the atrium and other parts of the building. Due to the project’s design, the facility was awarded LEED Gold certification.
HOUSTON — A partnership between MetroNational and Slate Real Estate Partners has completed The McAdams, a 333-unit apartment community located in the Memorial City area of Houston. The property offers a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging in size from 563 to 1,821 square feet and features custom cabinetry and stainless steel appliances. Amenities include a rooftop pool, resident lounge, fitness center, a game room and a pet park. Rents at The McAdams range from $1,515 to $4,865 for a three-bedroom unit, according to The Houston Chronicle.
PHILADELPHIA — Pearl Properties has completed development of The Harper, a 183-unit mixed use building in Philadelphia. The 280,000-square-foot property includes office and retail space, as well as a ground-floor restaurant, co-working lounges and a fitness center with an indoor basketball court. An outdoor rooftop area features a heated pool, lounge and grilling area. DAS Architects designed the building.
