DOUGLASVILLE, GA. — The Silverman Group has unveiled plans to break ground on the second building at Bright Star Logistics Center, a master-planned industrial campus in Douglasville, roughly 22 miles west of Atlanta. The New Jersey-based company will break ground on the 330,000-square-foot, speculative manufacturing/distribution building in the fourth quarter. Building Two will feature 36-foot clear heights, cross-dock configuration and ample car parking and trailer storage. Completion is slated for summer 2018. Bright Star Logistics Center is expected to attract industrial users including manufacturing, warehouse/distribution and third-party logistics companies. Upon completion, the park will features two modern distribution buildings, one of which is currently under construction and is preleased to Andersen Windows, a window and door manufacturer. Pat Murphy, James Phillpott and Tara Healy of Cushman & Wakefield will handle the project’s leasing assignment on behalf of The Silverman Group.

CHICAGO — PREMIER Design + Build Group LLC has completed the construction of a 40,750-square-foot speculative distribution facility in Chicago’s Portage Park neighborhood. PREMIER built the property, located at 4150 N. Knox Ave., on behalf of Dayton Street Partners and WBS Equities. Situated on a 1.6-acre lot, the warehouse features 30-foot clear heights, two parking lots, four covered dock positions, two drive-in doors and two entrances. The adaptable warehouse space can accommodate multiple tenants. Chris Kiziak and Scott Lebak led the project team on behalf of PREMIER. Kimley-Horn provided engineering services, while Cornerstone Architects Ltd. provided architectural services. Mike Senner and Steve Kohn of Colliers are marketing the building for lease.

TYNGSBOROUGH, MASS. — Senate Construction Co. has been awarded the design/build contract to construct a mixed-use facility in Tyngsborough for Crane Realty Trust. The 50,000-square-foot building will feature office and manufacturing space. Mass Crane & Hoist Inc. will use the facility as its new headquarters.

DURHAM, N.C. — Alliance Residential Co. has acquired the former Crown Park Hotel in Durham, with plans to convert the building into a 342-unit apartment community. Karl Hudson of Foundry Commercial arranged the transaction on behalf of Alliance. The seller and sales price were not disclosed. Alliance will begin construction on the community, named Broadstone Durham, next year. The project will feature studio, one- and two-bedroom units, including several two-story brownstones. The community will also feature a three-story glass entry “jewel box,” inspired by the nearby Durham Performing Arts Center. Broadstone Durham will be located within walking distance to American Tobacco, the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, Main Street and the Brightleaf District.

RICHARDSON, TEXAS — Kansas-based development firm WaterWalk has broken ground on WaterWalk Richardson, a four-story, 153-unit multifamily property at 2210 N. Glenville Drive in the northeastern Dallas metro of Richardson. The property will offer the services and amenities of an upscale hotel, such as a coffee bar, media room and lobby. Wichita-based The Law Co. is serving as general contractor on the project, and Dallas-based Woolpert is the architect and civil engineer. The expected completion date is November 2018.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Greystar has completed Platform, a 355-unit multifamily community located at 2823 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Austin. Designed by Meeks + Partners, the transit-oriented property incorporates three- and four-story apartments, as well as three-story townhomes and roughly 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Amenities include three pools, an outdoor kitchen and TV lounge, private workspaces, a social dining and bar area and a fitness center.

TAMFORD, CONN. — LCB Senior Living has broken ground on The Residence at Summer Street, a 104-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Stamford, approximately 25 miles northeast of New York City. LCB will both own and operate the community, which is scheduled to open in summer 2018. Headquartered in Massachusetts, LCB Senior Living owns and/or operates communities throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic states.

ST. LOUIS — McGrath & Associates is building a new $5 million warehouse for U.S. Paint, a developer and manufacturer of customized automotive and industrial paints, at the company’s facility in downtown St. Louis. McGrath will work in two phases to replace an existing warehouse with a 33,000-square-foot building while the manufacturing facility remains operational. During Phase I, McGrath will erect a new pre-engineered metal building to provide new office space, a maintenance shop, a battery charging area and storage for raw materials. A connecting link will tie the new building into an existing manufacturing building to allow covered access for forklift truck traffic. During Phase II, the existing raw materials warehouse will be demolished and a new building erected to provide space for a quality control lab and liquid materials storage. Japan-based Kansai Paint acquired U.S. Paint last year.

MARIETTA, GA. — Capital Properties Group and Concordia Properties have unveiled the first round of restaurant tenants to occupy Marietta Square Market, a new food hall concept located in the Historic Marietta Square District, roughly 20 miles north of downtown Atlanta. The 18,500-square-foot converted warehouse building, located adjacent to the railroad tracks at 68 N. Marietta Parkway N.W., will have the look of a historic train station complete with a restored trolley car and a porch that wraps around two sides of the building. The food hall will feature 19 restaurant and retail concepts. Signed tenants at the project include Forno — Wood Fired Artisan Pizza, Street Taco, Grand Champion BBQ, Toppoke Korean & Poke and Pita Mediterranean Street Food. Kelly Wilson of Windsor Realty Group is handling the project’s leasing assignment. Marietta Square Market is slated to open in summer 2018.

ANAHEIM, CALIF. — Kisco Senior Living has completed expansion and renovations at Emerald Court, an independent living and assisted living community in Anaheim. The $22.5 million project includes a new two-story building with 58 assisted living residences, a demonstration kitchen and dining venue, and a wellness center. The expansion physically connects with the existing building and adds additional space to the courtyard. As part of the project, renovations were made to the main dining room, as well as corridors, lighting, the activity room and the salon of the existing building. A total of 58,000 square feet was added to the community overall. Following the expansion, Emerald Court now features 146 independent living and 104 assisted living apartments.
