KYLE, TEXAS — California-based PGI Investments will develop a 300,000-square-foot mixed-use property in Kyle, about 22 miles south of Austin. The development will be situated on a 47-acre site at the intersection of Yarrington Road and Interstate 35 and will include undetermined amounts of office, retail and restaurant space, as well as a hotel and multiple gas stations. The project is expected to create about 200 new jobs. A timetable for construction has not yet been established.

HOUSTON — Transwestern Development Co. has begun leasing The Hayworth, a 246-unit multifamily property located at 1414 Wood Hollow Drive in Houston’s Tanglewood neighborhood. Units range from 934-square-foot one-bedroom apartments to 2,324-square-foot three-bedroom residences. In addition, 10 townhomes starting at 1,986 square feet will become available in 2018. Amenities include a two-acre private park, yoga lawn, pool and dog park.

BURR RIDGE, ILL. — Krusinski Construction Co. has broken ground on a new 25,000-square-foot rehabilitation center for the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Burr Ridge, a southwestern suburb of Chicago. Formerly known as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, the center will treat individuals with complex disabilities through a model of integrated research, education and patient-centered care. MedProperties Group is the project developer. Other project team members include architect HDR, civil engineer Manhard Consulting and electrical engineer Gage Consulting Engineers. Completion is slated for March 2018.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Canyon Partners Real Estate LLC has provided a $10.3 million preferred equity investment for the development of ParkStone at Knightdale, a 350-unit multifamily community in Raleigh’s Knightdale submarket. An affiliate of The Widewaters Group Inc. is developing the property. ParkStone at Knightdale will be situated adjacent to the Widewaters Commons shopping center, which is anchored by Lowe’s Foods and Planet Fitness, and within walking distance to numerous other shops and restaurants. The community will comprise one- to three-bedroom units with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Community amenities will include a fitness center, resort-style pool, outdoor lounge with grilling areas, playground, pet wash station and self-storage units. The project site is part of a 57-acre land parcel owned by Widewaters, which is entitled for a mixed-use master-planned development. Upon completion, the development will comprise the new residential component and 270,000 square feet of retail, entertainment and dining options.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. — The Fort Lauderdale City Commission has approved Ocean Land Investments’ proposed Riverwalk Residences of Las Olas project in Fort Lauderdale. The seniors housing community will offer 401 units of independent living, assisted living and memory care. Borges Architects + Associates designed the 42-story tower that will be Fort Lauderdale’s tallest building once completed. Amenities will include restaurants, a rooftop bar, full-service spa, fitness center, virtual sport rooms, theater, outdoor pool, hotel rooms, on-site doctor’s offices and valet parking. The project will also feature a ground-level gourmet market that will be open to the public. The property is located near downtown Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk, museums, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, shopping and dining. Ocean Land Investments specializes in the development of prime waterfront properties.

FRANKLIN, TENN. — North American Properties has delivered Emblem, a 361-unit multifamily community in Franklin, roughly 20 miles south of Nashville. The new community includes a mix of one- and two-bedroom units ranging in size from 617 to 1,209 square feet. Individual units features open floor plans, stainless steel appliances, 11-foot ceilings and accented backsplashes. THORNTON, COLO. — Simon has broken ground on Denver Premium Outlets, a 330,000-square-foot open-air outlet center located 12 miles outside Denver in Thornton. The mall will be home to 80 outlet stores offering discount, name-brand merchandise. The location marks the first and only Premium Outlets development in the state of Colorado. It is scheduled to open in fall 2018.

The store offers a new store design and new customer services. Also, in West Hollywood, the retailer launched Nordstrom Local, a neighborhood hub where customers can access the company’s services in a central location. The three-level, 154,000-square-foot Century City store offers the fifth ‘Nordstrom x Nike’ sneaker boutique, a women’s-only fitness/fashion lifestyle concept; and SPACE, a boutique featuring advanced and emerging designers. The store also houses the first West Coast MAC Makeup Studio; Bar Verde, a full-service, seasonally-focused restaurant and bar; Style Bar, an area to meet with complimentary personal stylists; Nordstrom to You, a personal stylist service on wheels; Buy Online & Pick-Up In-Store; Reserve & Try In-Store; Curbside Pickup; and Two-Hour Delivery. ATLANTA — Wood Partners has unveiled plans to develop Piedmont House, a 198-unit apartment community in Atlanta’s Midtown district. The property will be located at 205 12th St., overlooking Piedmont Park. Designed by architect Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio, Piedmont House will include one- to three-bedroom units with private balconies, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, hardwood floors and a wine cooler and wet bar. Community amenities will include a saltwater pool, sky lounge, fitness center, entertainment space and a wine locker with a tasting room. The Las Vegas Ballpark

LAS VEGAS — The Howard Hughes Corp. has unveiled plans to develop and construct the Las Vegas Ballpark in Downtown Summerlin, the urban core within the 22,500-acre master-planned community of Summerlin in Las Vegas. The new ballpark will be the future home of the Las Vegas 51s, the city’s professional baseball team. The name refers to Area 51, which is located roughly 80 miles north of the city. The team’s logo depicts one of the gray aliens thought by UFO believers to inhabit the site, according to Wikipedia. Earlier this year, The Howard Hughes Corp. acquired full ownership of the team, a member of the Pacific Coast League and a Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. In addition to serving as the home of the Las Vegas 51s, the 10,000-seat ballpark will host civic, community, nonprofit and sporting events. HOK is leading design efforts for the project, which will include 22 suites, club seats, berm seating, party zones and decks, picnic tables, kids’ zones, bars, and a pool beyond the outfield wall.
