SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — Thorne Research Inc. has broken ground on a new 272,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Summerville, located 25 miles northwest of Charleston. The health and wellness technology company manufactures proprietary nutritional supplement products distributed through professional medical, athletic and consumer channels. The new facility will bring 330 jobs to the Summerville area and serve as Thorne Research’s corporate headquarters. Located on 26 acres within the Omni Industrial Campus, the facility is expected to be fully operational by mid-2018.

FITCHBURG, MASS. — WinnCompanies has completed a $24.5 million transformation of a 112-year-old yarn mill into a mixed-income multifamily property in Fitchburg. Situated on 7.4 acres along the Nashua River, the three-story, 190,000-square-foot Yarn Works Apartments features 96 residential rental units. The property features a current tenancy mix of 30 percent market renters, 30 percent middle income/workforce earners and 40 percent for residents earning 60 percent or below the area median income. The Architectural Team served as architect, while Colantonia Inc. served as general contractor. WinnResidential manages the property.

COLUMBIA, MO. — Brinkmann Constructors has completed the Rise on 9th, a 178-unit student housing property in Columbia, home of the University of Missouri. The 232,000-square-foot, 10-story property features 178 luxury apartment units. Floor plans range from studios to four-bedroom units with a total of 415 beds. Amenities include a pool and entertainment deck, fitness center, penthouse lounge and private study lounges. CA Student Living developed the property, while ACI Boland provided architectural services.

DALLAS — Gather Kitchen, a fast casual restaurant specializing in locally sourced items, has opened its flagship location at Thanksgiving Tower in downtown Dallas. The 2,400-square-foot restaurant will feature a bakery, outdoor seating area and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the CBD. Greg Pierce and Ryan May of CBRE represented Gather Kitchen in the lease negotiations. Jack Gosnell and Amy MacLaren, also of CBRE, represented the landlord, Woods Capital Management.

PHILADELPHIA — Houston-based Hanover Co. has opened Hanover North Broad, an apartment building located at the corner of North Broad and Callowhill streets in Philadelphia. The property features 339 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as 17,000 square feet of retail space. Units feature designer kitchens with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and luxury finishes, including frameless cabinetry, expansive windows and nine-foot ceilings. On-site amenities include a residents’ clubhouse with private gym, lounge and media room, as well as landscaped courtyards with fire pit, grilling areas, dining areas and a bocce ball court.

MIAMI — Melo Group has completed vertical construction on Square Station, a transit-oriented development that will include two 34-story towers located at 1424 N.E. Miami Place in downtown Miami. The 710-unit apartment development will feature market-rate rental apartments and 15,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space, as well as access to the Metromover, Metrorail and Miami Trolley. Square Station will include one- to three-bedroom units ranging in size from 900 to 1,500 square feet, with rental rates ranging from $1,650 to $2,500 per month. Individual units will features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, wood floors and large balconies. Community amenities will include a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, fitness center, valet service, covered garage parking and a social room. Apartments are open for preleasing and slated for completion in the first quarter of 2018. Square Station marks the first phase of Melo Group’s three-phase multifamily development to boost transit-oriented residential options in downtown Miami. INDIAN LAND, S.C. — TWO Capital Partners has broken ground on Capital Club at Indian Land, a 312-unit apartment community in Indian Land, approximately 20 miles south of Charlotte. TWO Capital’s financial partner, Patterson Real Estate Advisory Group, arranged a preferred equity investment from RSE Capital Partners, as well as a construction loan from Texas Capital Bank NA and HomeTrust Bank. Capital Club at Indian Land is located at the intersection of Highway 521 and Fort Mill Highway. Community amenities will include an outdoor amphitheater, saltwater pools with cabanas, outdoor kitchens, virtual golf room, dog park, fitness center and shared workspaces. The project, which marks TWO’s second multifamily development in the Charlotte area, is slated for completion at the end of 2018.

KENOSHA, WIS. — Majestic Realty Co. has acquired a former dog-racing track known as Dairyland Greyhound Park in Kenosha for an undisclosed price. Majestic plans to convert the dog track, which closed seven years ago, into an industrial business park. Dubbed the Midwest Innovation Center prior to the sale, the 228-acre site has room for 2 million square feet of development, including a 1 million-square-foot building. Located at 5522 104th Ave., the site is nearly halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago. Thomas Boyle of Transwestern represented the seller, Rime Investments LLP.

ROMEOVILLE, ILL. — Meridian Design Build has completed construction of a 271,000-square-foot distribution building for Venture One in Romeoville, about 26 miles southwest of Chicago. The speculative industrial facility is located at 1200 Schmidt Road. The property features 32-foot clear heights, 27 truck docks, two drive-in doors and parking for 200 vehicles and 56 trailers. Ware Malcomb provided architectural services and Jacob & Hefner Associates completed civil engineering work. MB Financial provided the construction financing. Keith Stauber, Steve Ostrowski and Matt Rakowich of JLL are the property’s leasing agents.

OAKBROOK TERRACE, ILL. — J.C. Anderson Inc. has completed interior renovations on behalf of Pernod Ricard USA LLC within the Oakbrook Terrace Tower in Oakbrook Terrace, a suburb of Chicago. Property owner and manager Equity Office selected J.C. Anderson to complete the tenant improvements to the space on the 21st floor within the 31-story building. Renovations of the office space for the wine and spirits company included the construction of workstations, phone rooms, a newly renovated kitchen and conference rooms. Seth Erlich, Andrew Mott and Bill Dennison led the project team on behalf of J.C. Anderson. Whitney Architects provided architectural services.
