RALEIGH, N.C. — Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Stiles Residential Group and Raleigh-based Grubb Ventures have opened The Carolinian on Glenwood, a 186-unit apartment community in Raleigh. Located at 2600 Glenwood Ave., the property is located inside the Interstate 440 Beltline. Clancy & Theys Construction Co. built the community, which offers studio to three-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 600 to 1,700 square feet. Community amenities include an outdoor rooftop lounge with a saltwater swimming pool, fitness center with a yoga studio, conference lounge and a Canine Club, which includes an indoor dog run and play area and a pet-grooming spa.

NORFOLK, VA. — Atlanta-based architect Cooper Carry has designed Hilton Norfolk at The Main, a $175 million hotel in downtown Norfolk. Located at 100 E. Main St., the 23-story hotel anchors the corner of Granby and Main streets and overlooks the Elizabeth River. The Main features three local, chef-driven restaurants; a rooftop beer garden and lounge; 300 guest rooms; 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space; and amenities including an indoor pool, game room and fitness center. Cooper Carry’s design incorporates the historic façade of the Decker Building, which previously occupied the site, and features a 100-foot glass atrium with escalators crossing five stories. Gold Key | PHR owns The Main, which opened its doors in April.
Pyramid Management Opens New Embassy Suites by Hilton at Destiny USA in Syracuse, New York

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Pyramid Management, as owner, has opened Embassy Suites by Hilton Syracuse Destiny USA, located at 311 Hiawatha Blvd. W in Syracuse. Situated at Destiny USA, a shopping, dining and entertainment destination, the hotel features 209 suites, 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, an indoor heated pool, fitness center, full-service restaurant and 24-hour convenience shop. Aimbridge Hospitality manages the hotel.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — Amtex Development LLC has broken ground on Campus Apartments, a 224-unit multifamily community located at 4651 Campus Drive in Fort Worth. The property will feature a mix of affordable and market-rate units and amenities such as a pool, outdoor grill facilities and children’s play area. Completion of the project is currently scheduled for December 2018.
CHICAGO AND LAKE BLUFF, ILL. — The Missner Group has completed renovations for the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) in Chicago and Lake Bluff, Ill. At 111 N. Canal St. in Chicago, renovations included the addition of a 2,900-square-foot physical therapy space, private consultation suite and a new reception and waiting lounge. At 101 Waukegan Road in Lake Bluff, a 6,000-square-foot renovation featured the build-out of both physical therapy and clinic space. The facility now consists of a renovated reception area, private examination rooms and 2,800 square feet of space for physical therapy. Heath Yarger and Steve Bulger of Missner Group led the project team. Stephen Rankin & Associates provided architectural services. With more than 20 locations, IBJI specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and management of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
HUNTSVILLE, ALA. — Watkins Real Estate Group has signed a 45,600-square-foot lease with Publix Super Markets Inc. to anchor The Pinnacle at Providence, a 59,600-square-foot retail center under development in Huntsville’s Providence neighborhood. The Atlanta-based retail and multifamily development company acquired the 9.2-acre site in 2016 and recently secured construction financing through BB&T Corp. In addition to Publix, the tenant lineup includes Courtney Murray DDS, Allure Nails Spa and an additional 9,800 square feet of shop space. Watkins is pursuing other retail, dining and service tenants to fill the remaining space. The new Publix will be the Lakeland, Fla.-based grocer’s third location in the market. The Pinnacle at Providence is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2018.
CARROLLTON, TEXAS — High Street Residential (HSR) and partner Olympus Property have broken ground on Phase III of Union at Carrollton Square, a 352-unit apartment community in the Dallas metro of Carrollton. One- and two-bedroom units at the property, which will also feature 4,025 square feet of ground-floor retail space, will range in size from 381 to 1,149 square feet. Amenities will include a business center with multiple conference rooms, a pool, fitness center and multiple courtyards. The first units of Phase III are slated for fourth-quarter 2018 occupancy.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ally Financial has signed on to anchor a 742,000-square-foot mixed-use project in Uptown Charlotte. Crescent Communities will break ground on Ally Charlotte Center at 601 S. Tryon St. in the first quarter of 2018. Ally Financial will lease 400,000 square feet and is expected to move to the new space when the building delivers in 2021. In addition to office space, plans for the 26-story tower include ground-level retail and restaurant space, a parking garage and a hotel. The building is situated near a LYNX light rail system stop and Interstate 277. Chase Monroe and Chris Schaaf of JLL represented Ally in the lease transaction, and Charley Leavitt and Barry Fabyan of JLL represented Crescent Communities. The Charlotte-based company specializes in the development of residential and mixed-use communities, including Piedmont Town Center, Coliseum Centre and the River District in Charlotte.
SPARROWS POINT, MD. — FedEx Ground, the small package delivery unit of FedEx Corp., has opened a new distribution facility at Tradepoint Atlantic, a 3,100-acre global logistics center in Sparrows Point, roughly 15 miles southeast of Baltimore. The 307,000-square-foot facility connects existing FedEx Ground stations located in White Marsh and Halethorpe, and will support approximately 275 full- and part-time jobs, as well as 150 contracted service providers. FedEx occupies 50 acres within the northwest portion of the site, with close proximity to Interstate 695. JLL is the exclusive broker for Tradepoint Atlantic.
MINNEAPOLIS — Ackerberg has broken ground on MoZaic East, an eight-story, 193,000-square-foot office and retail project in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis. The property, located at 2900 Fremont Ave., will encompass 180,000 square feet of office space and 13,000 square feet of retail space. The project is an expansion of the MoZaic Art Plaza, as MoZaic West was completed in 2012. MoZaic East, slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2018, will feature bike amenities and rooftop patios. The project team includes Ackerberg as developer, Opus AE Group as architect and The Opus Group as general contractor. First National Bank of Omaha, MidCountry Bank and First Western Bank and Trust are providing project financing.
