SAN ANTONIO — Austin-based development and construction firm Oden Hughes will build a 57-acre development at the intersection of Loop 1604 and Bulverde Road in San Antonio. The development, which has yet to be branded, will eventually feature 1,000 apartment units across 41 acres that will be delivered in three phases. The property also includes nearly 16 acres of commercial acreage that Oden Hughes pans to sell. The company will break ground on Phase I, which will deliver 338 Class A units, later this week. Scheduled to open in late 2018, this phase will also feature a two-level pool, fitness center, running trail and a dog park.

CARROLLTON, TEXAS — Idaho-based grocer WinCo Foods has begun building an 82,077-square-foot store within Trinity Valley Shopping Center, a 300,000-square-foot shopping center located at the corner of State Highway 190 and Josey Lane in Carrollton. The grocery store will anchor the center and is expected to open during the first quarter of 2018. Weitzman, which handles leasing and management at Trinity Valley, is overseeing construction of the property.
CHICAGO — Luxury Living Chicago Realty will oversee leasing of 8 East Huron, a 102-unit luxury apartment tower in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. CA Residential LLC, the multifamily investment and development division of Chicago-based CA Ventures, developed the 26-story property. The Habitat Co. will manage the property. Wrapped entirely in glass, the building features one- and two-bedroom units as well as luxury three-bedroom suites on the 22nd and 23rd floors. Floor plans range in size from 540 to 2,680 square feet with rents ranging from $2,195 to $15,995. A 24th floor amenity space consists of an infinity pool, sun deck, fitness center and on-site pet spa. Since the building is still under construction, Luxury Living is offering a virtual realty experience that allows interested renters to see select apartments and amenities from every angle.
NOBLESVILLE, IND. — Engineering Facility Solutions (EFS) has completed installation of a design/build HVAC project at the new headquarters of BlueSky Technology Partners in Noblesville, about 20 miles north of Indianapolis. BlueSky, an e-commerce consultancy, and BlueSky Digital, a digital marketing agency, will occupy the top two floors of the four-story, 42,000-square-foot building. The first level is set for use as a tenant restaurant space with outdoor seating. The second level is an open office space available for lease. EFS completed the project within a four-month design phase and a five-month installation. American Structurepoint + Interiors Group was the architect and Meyer Najem was the general contractor.
SAN ANTONIO — Austin-based development firm Teeple Partners will develop Kallison Square, an $83 million mixed-use project that will be located at the southwest corner of Flores and Dolorosa streets in San Antonio. The project will include 45,000 square feet of retail space and office space, as well as 305 multifamily units. Construction is scheduled to begin during the spring of 2018 and conclude in mid-2020.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — A partnership that includes creators of the restaurant BREWED and residential real estate firm 6th Ave. Homes will open The 4 Eleven in Fort Worth. The project involves transforming an 18,000-square-foot warehouse located at 411 S. Main St. into a center with an events venue and a variety of shops. Committed tenants include Alchemy Pops, a provider of frozen pops; Winton and Waits, an accessories and home goods store; and The Greenhouse 817, a design studio. The opening is scheduled for late October.
UNIVERSITY PARK, ILL. — Clayco Inc. has completed construction of a Georgia-Pacific distribution facility at Gateway 57 Industrial Park in University Park, about 38 miles south of Chicago. The 1 million-square-foot facility is a joint venture between CRG and Venture One along with design-build firm Clayco and its subsidiary Forum Studio. The investment will allow Georgia-Pacific to expand capabilities in University Park, where the company previously operated out of a 700,000-square-foot facility. The distribution center will be used to supply paper goods for commercial and recreational use for some of Georgia-Pacific’s largest clients, including Walmart and Costco. The building features 36-foot clear heights, 100 dock doors and two drive-in doors.
TERRE HAUTE, IND. — Dora Hotel Co. LLC and Gibson Development LLC are developing a Home2 Suites by Hilton in Terre Haute, located in western Indiana. The 91-suite, extended-stay hotel will be located at 2625 S. Sycamore Crossing St. Amenities will include Wi-Fi, pool and deck, fitness room, guest laundry, grilling patio and outdoor lounge. The lobby will feature an open-area floor plan known as the Oasis, designed to alternate between a breakfast area and a workspace. First Financial Bank NA is providing construction financing. Completion is slated for September 2018.
BOSTON — LBC Boston has opened Nova Residences, a six-story, 68,000-square-foot building that offers 80 residential units at 1505 Commonwealth Avenue in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston. Ten of the units at the $25 million complex are designated as affordable. Developed, owned and operated by LBC Boston, Nova Residences offers energy-efficient stainless-steel appliances, modern cabinetry, and laundry appliances in each unit. Designed to achieve LEED certification, the building features a fitness center, community/game room, dog grooming station, and on-site management office with package receiving service. Community space extends outdoors with landscaped patios, an 80-car parking lot, and on-site bike storage. The three-year project — LBC Boston’s first residential project in Boston — is part of “Housing a Changing City: Boston 2030,” the city of Boston’s housing plan. The project was 100 percent occupied at opening. Rents range from $1,850 to $3,250 per month, with the unit mix including studios, lofts, and a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments. HOLLIDAYSBURG, PA. — Presbyterian Senior Living recently held a dedication for Inglenook at Presbyterian Village, a 41-unit expansion at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, approximately 90 miles east of Pittsburgh. The new building will add to the property’s existing 31 independent living, 43 assisted living and 67 skilled nursing units. Albarano Construction began work on the property in January 2016.
