FRISCO, TEXAS — NewcrestImage, a Dallas-based developer, has broken ground on two hotels as part of a larger hotel campus project at Frisco Station, a 242-acre, mixed-use development in north Texas. The first two Marriott-branded hotels, an eight-story AC Hotel and a seven-story Residence Inn, will share a building, total 300 rooms and offer amenities such as an indoor pool, two lounge areas and free grocery delivery service. Both properties are expected to open mid-2018. The second phase of the project, which will break ground later this year, will deliver a 150-room Canopy Hotel by Hilton and a 150-room Hyatt Place.

TYLER, TEXAS — KP Engineering, a Texas-based firm specializing in chemical and energy solutions, has released details of its newest project, a 25,000-square-foot office building. The property will be located at 5555 Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler, a city approximately 100 miles east of Dallas. Construction is expected to begin this month.

CARROLLTON, TEXAS — Chicago-based developer Stoneleigh Cos. and partner Realty Capital Management have broken ground on Switchyard Apartments, a 234-unit apartment complex located at 1199 N. Broadway St. in Carrollton. The four-story building, which will be located next to a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) station, will feature a resort-style pool, fitness center and a juice bar. Units will range from 525 square feet to 1,262 square feet.

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — Miller-Valentine Group has begun construction on Midway Logistics II, a 200,000-square-foot speculative industrial facility located at 825 Bistline Drive in West Columbia. The property will be situated within Lexington County Industrial Park, a 350-acre master-planned industrial development located at the intersection of Interstates 77 and 26. Miller-Valentine Group has awarded Colliers International the leasing assignment for Midway Logistics II, which is the first speculative industrial facility built by a private developer in South Carolina’s Midlands region since 2009.

ATLANTA — Pollack Shores Real Estate Group has opened Millworks at Howell Mill, a 345-unit apartment community located on Emery Street in Atlanta’s West Midtown district. The property, which has 80 residences under lease, is situated near the intersection of Collier and Howell Mill roads. Millworks features one- and two-bedroom apartments ranging from 727 to 1,581 square feet. Matrix Residential, a Pollack Shores subsidiary, is managing Millworks. Community amenities at Millworks at Howell Mill include a conference room, Google Fiber connectivity, resort-style saline pool, bocce ball court and an outdoor lounge.

SHILOH, ILL. — Crevo Capital has unveiled plans to develop a $35 million apartment property in Shiloh, about 22 miles east of St. Louis. The Savannah will consist of 300 luxury apartments on 26 acres. Amenities will include a health club and community lounge. Floor plans will consist of one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts. Housing Studio is designing the buildings and site layout. Fairview Heights, Ill.-based IMPACT Strategies will provide construction services. Pending approval from the Village of Shiloh, Crevo Capital expects to begin construction this fall with units available for occupancy in early 2019.

SOMERVILLE, N.J. — Sterling Properties will develop a four-story, 69-unit apartment property near downtown Somerville. Set to deliver in 2018, the property will be located at 110 S. Bridge St., which is within walking distance of New Jersey Transit’s Somerville Station, and will be known as SOMA. Floor layouts will consist of studio, one- and two-bedroom units. Initial site work on the property will begin this spring. Designed by architecture firm Comito Associates, SOMA’s units will range from 585 to 1,290 square feet with features including nine-foot ceilings and stainless steel appliances. Common area amenities will include a fitness studio and tech lounge. Interior Design firm Mary Cook and Associates will design the project’s unit interiors and common space.

SAN ANTONIO — Port San Antonio has broken ground on Phase I of Project Tech, a $20 million project that will deliver a 90,000-square-foot facility that will be leased to various cybersecurity firms. The property, which is scheduled for 2018 completion, will anchor a larger office development that could span as much as 500,000 square feet across 17 acres. Suites in the building will start at 2,500 square feet per suite.

PLANO, TEXAS — Aircraft manufacturing firm Boeing will establish the headquarters of its newly formed global services division at Legacy West, a 250-acre, mixed-use development located at 5905 Legacy Drive in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro of Plano. The division, which will be operational in July, will serve as the central hub for more than 20,000 employees worldwide.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Aston Properties has announced retailers and restaurants joining City Park Village, an 11,600-square-foot shopping center under construction in Charlotte. Situated on a 2.6-acre site at the corner of West Tyvola Road and Potomac River Parkway, the property is nearly 90 percent pre-leased to tenants including Panera Bread, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Starbucks Coffee and Firehouse Subs. The $6 million property will serve as the entrance to City Park, a 170-acre mixed-use development that Pope & Land Enterprises is developing on the former site of the Charlotte Coliseum. The Shopping Center Group is leasing City Park Village, which has 1,575 square feet available, as well as retail pads fronting West Tyvola Road.
