GRIFFIN, GA. — Randolph Williamson, a real estate construction, development and management firm based in Peachtree City, Ga., has delivered a 53,970-square-foot medical facility located adjacent to Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin. Developed by Group VI Development, the project broke ground in 2014. Other members of the project team for the new facility include WM2A Architects and Medical Management Associates Inc. The building includes 72 exam rooms, new labs and an enclosed pedestrian bridge to Spalding Regional.

MedCraft Healthcare Real Estate Completes 97,000 SF Stamford Integrated Care Pavilion in Connecticut

STAMFORD, CONN. — MedCraft Healthcare Real Estate has completed the development of Stamford Integrated Care Pavilion, located at 29 Hospital Plaza on the main campus of Stamford Health in Stamford. Connected to the Stamford Hospital, the 97,000-square-foot facility features three levels of clinical offices on top of a 382-car parking deck. The first practices to open at the facility include Stamford Health Medical Group Electrophysiology, Cardiology and Thoracic Surgery offices. When fully operational, the facility will house various specialists and services. The project team includes Suffolk Construction and WHR Architects.
MINNEAPOLIS — EdR, in a joint venture development with Core Spaces, has started construction on The Hub Minneapolis, a 707-bed student housing community adjacent to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. EdR will be the 51 percent owner and will manage the $97.9 million development upon completion. The community offers a mix of studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom floor plans. Amenities include individual study rooms, group study lounges, computer lab, fitness center, pool and fire pits. The Hub’s penthouse level will feature a chef’s kitchen, bar-top dining area and patio. The plan also calls for 10,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. The project is slated for completion in summer 2018.
LOS ALAMITOS, CALIF. — The City of Los Alamitos Planning Commission has approved Village 605, a shopping center development located at the northwest corner of Interstate 605 and Katella Avenue in Los Alamitos. Lincoln Property Co., in partnership with Long Wharf Real Estate Partners, will develop the 113,880-square-foot, open-air center, which will feature seven one-story buildings. 365 by Whole Foods Market will anchor the center. Construction is slated to begin in early 2017 with completion scheduled for early 2018. KTGY Group is serving as architect and Strategic Retail Advisors of Newport Beach, Calif., is handling project leasing.
ATLANTA — Atlanta-based Selig Enterprises Inc. has launched a new division known as Selig Development Corp., whose first development will be a $400 million mixed-use project located at 1105 W. Peachtree St. in Midtown Atlanta. The project will feature 645,000 square feet of Class A office space, 80 residential units and a 150-room boutique hotel, along with street-level retail space. The 32-story office tower leads the project, encompassing an entire city block. Totaling more than 3.5 acres between the 10th Street and Art Center MARTA train stations, the site is situated across from the new Northside Hospital Medical Office and a Whole Foods Market currently under construction. Selig Development expects to begin construction on the project in mid-2017. The office portion is expected to be ready for occupancy beginning in the fourth quarter of 2019. Selig Development is in discussions with several tenants for the new office tower, and plans open nearly 50 percent pre-leased. The boutique hotel will feature an outdoor pool, pool bar and event space within a 38,000-square-foot, deck-top plaza. LEE’S SUMMIT, MO. — The Lee’s Summit City Council has approved the rezoning and preliminary development plan for The Grove at Lee’s Summit, a 1 million-square-foot, mixed-use project in Lee’s Summit, about 20 miles southeast of Kansas City. The project developer is Westcott Investment Group. Development on the site begins this month. The 73-acre land site will include retail, restaurant, entertainment, multifamily housing, commercial office, warehouse and light manufacturing space. The first phase of the project includes 500,000 square feet of industrial space near the southern portion of the business park. Klover Architects will serve as architect and BHC Rhodes will provide civil engineering services. Daren Fristoe is project manager and Aaron March of White Goss is the development attorney.
AUSTIN, TEXAS — Aspen Heights Partners has partnered with Grand China Fund to develop Aspen West Campus, a 166-unit student housing high-rise development at 1909 Rio Grande St. in Austin. The team commenced construction on the 17-story, 464-bed property in September, with completion slated for fall 2018. The property will feature units ranging from efficiencies to five-bedroom floorplans and amenity space, including a fitness center, game lounge, study lounge and pool area with grills overlooking the University of Texas campus. The development is Grand China Fund’s first venture into student housing.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. — Miller Construction Co. has begun converting a two-story former auto rental building at 2125 S. Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale into a new MINI dealership. The new 55,507-square-foot Lauderdale MINI is Miller Construction’s fifth project for Holman Automotive, which will move the existing Lauderdale MINI dealership from its current location a few blocks north on Federal Highway. Holman Automotive will display the new MINI cars on the ground floor of the new property and house certified pre-owned MINI cars on the second floor. Miller Construction plans to deliver the new glass and metal-faced auto dealership in spring 2017.
MESA, ARIZ. — Housing Trust Group (HTG) has broken ground on the 325-unit Aviva apartment community in Mesa. The $63 million community will be located at 8350 E. Baseline Road. Aviva is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2018. This is HTG’s first multifamily development in Arizona. Biltform Architecture Group designed the community, which Chasse Building Team will construct. HTG acquired the 16-acre vacant tract for $6.5 million. The firm also secured a $47.1 million construction loan from Walker & Dunlop.
FRISCO, TEXAS — The Frisco Station Partnership has engaged Hillwood Multifamily to develop Station House, a 300-unit urban living community in Frisco. The project will be the first residential property to break ground in Frisco Station, a 242-acre multi-use development at the northwest quadrant of Dallas North Tollway and Warren Parkway. Designed by JHP Architecture/Urban Design, the four-story Station House will feature apartment homes with energy-efficient, stainless steel appliances and LED lighting, mudrooms, butler’s pantries, built-in desks, oversized soaking bathtubs and walk-in showers. Community amenities will include private interior courtyards with a pool area; outdoor kitchen and social spaces; massage room and Pilates studio; coffee bar and wine bar; resident lounge and library; demonstration kitchen and private dining room; game room; and terrace lounges. Additional project partners for Frisco Station include Rudman Partnership, which has owned the Frisco Station land since 1962, and Van Trust Real Estate, which serves as the office development partner.
