GREER, S.C. — Liberty Property Trust has broken ground on Caliber North, a 171,600-square-foot warehouse situated within the Caliber Ridge industrial park in Greer. Located at I-85 and Green Road, the warehouse is situated near the BMW Manufacturing Plant and the South Carolina Inland Port. Set for an April 2017 completion, Caliber North will feature 7-inch concrete slab floors and 36-foot clear heights, the first warehouse in the market built to those specifications. The project team includes architect MCA Architecture, civil engineer blueWATER Civil Design and general contractor Harper Corp. Jaime Maldonado of Liberty Property Trust is Caliber North’s project manager, and Liberty’s Bryan Blythe is teaming up with Brian Young, Elliott Fayssoux and Kacie Jackson of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer to market the project. Liberty is planning to build a second property at the site totaling 94,500 square feet.

EPOCH Senior Living Breaks Ground on 64-Unit Seniors Housing Community in Norwalk, Connecticut

NORWALK, CONN. — Waltham, Mass.-based EPOCH Senior Living, in partnership with National Development, has broken ground on Bridges by EPOCH, a memory care assisted living community located at 123 Richards Ave. in Norwalk. Slated to open in fall 2017, the community will feature 64 memory-care suites and is designed for individuals living with all stages of memory impairment.
DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. — Cobb Theatres is set to open the Cobb Daytona Luxury 12 Theatres in December at One Daytona, a mixed-use and entertainment development underway in Daytona Beach. International Speedway Corp. is developing One Daytona across from Daytona International Speedway, home of the Daytona 500 race. The 56,345-square-foot theater will feature 12 wall-to-wall screens, oversized electric reclining seats and a full-service restaurant and bar known as Cobbster’s Kitchen. International Speedway Corp. plans to open the rest of One Daytona, which includes a Bass Pro Shops, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott and retail and restaurants, in 2017.
Industrie Capital Partners Launches Leasing at 200,000 SF Office/Retail Project in Brooklyn

NEW YORK CITY — Industrie Capital Partners has launched leasing at Roulston House – Gowanus, an office and retail redevelopment in Brooklyn’s Gowanus district. The 200,000-square-foot building features 27,000-square-foot to 41,000-square-foot floorplates for technology, advertising, media and information tenants, as well as food and beverage retailers, and up to 70,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Designed by Morris Adjmi, the building also features four expansive roof-deck options with outdoor seating and views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines, bike storage, shower facilities, common areas, interior lounges and parking. Redevelopment of the property is underway, with tenant fit-outs slated to start in late 2017.
CHICAGO — CA Ventures, in conjunction with K Giles LLC, has started construction on a 320-unit mixed-use development at 1136 S. Wabash Ave. in Chicago’s South Loop. The transit-oriented project is located steps from the CTA Roosevelt station. Scheduled for completion in May 2018, the 26-story tower will include 320 luxury apartments, 5,000 square feet of street-level retail and parking for 141 vehicles. Floor plans will range in size from 389 to 1,027 square feet. Lendlease will oversee construction of the Solomon Cordwell Buenz-designed tower.
PHOENIX — A joint venture between Parallel Capital Partners and Angelo, Gordon and Co. is set to begin a $25 million renovation of Arizona Center, a 1 million-square-foot mixed-use development in Phoenix. The renovation will include new landscaping, lighting, fixtures, finishes, wayfinding and furnishings. The current parking garage will also be upgraded, and a valet parking element will be added. Construction is set to begin in early 2017, and will take approximately nine months to complete. All tenants at the office, retail and entertainment center will remain open during the renovation. Gensler is the architect in charge of the retail renovation. PdO will work on the interior redesign for One Arizona Center, the office component of the project, and Smith Group JJR is supporting development strategies for the entire property. Tempe-based Zion & Zion will help to rebrand the center.
GREENSBORO, N.C. —Blue Ridge Cos. and Richardson Properties have partnered to co-develop Country Park at Tall Oaks, a 216-unit apartment community located near the intersection of Lawndale Drive and Pisgah Church Road in Greensboro. The property will feature running and bike trails, a fitness center, bike storage and workshop, swimming pool and a dog park with a pet wash station. Blue Ridge and Richardson plan to open the project in spring 2017.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — PetSmart Inc. has opened a new 12,000-square-foot store at 2484 Market St. N.E. in Washington, D.C. The new store is the first location for the pet retailer inside the Washington, D.C., metro area. Located within The Shops at Dakota Crossing shopping center, the new PetSmart will feature pet food, pet products, training classes for dog owners and a full-service grooming salon for dogs and cats. PetSmart Inc. operates 1,477 pet stores in North America and employs roughly 53,000 associates.
CHICAGO — Developer Smithfield Properties is nearing completion of SoNu Digs, Chicago’s first ground-up, micro-apartment building. SoNu is located at 1515 N. Fremont St. in the Lincoln Park/SoNo neighborhood. The apartments, which will be ready for occupancy in December, range in size from 336 square feet to 438 square feet. Monthly rental rates range from $1,300 to $1,655. SoNu is the final part of a planned SoNo complex built by Smithfield Properties, which includes the SoNo East apartments and SoNo West condominiums. Calibrate Management will lease and manage the property.

NEW YORK CITY — Developed by Nissim Seliktar and designed by Gene Kaufman Architect, Aloft Long Island City-Manhattan View is slated to open in November. Located at 27-45 Jackson Ave. in Long Island City, the 18-story, 74,000-square-foot hotel will feature 176 rooms. The hotel also features W XYZ bar; Re:mix lounge; Re:fuel, a healthy snack bar; Re:charge gym; 1,500 square feet of meeting space; a pool; and a 1,700-square-foot ground-floor terrace.
