MEMPHIS, TENN. — Elvis Presley Enterprises has opened a new $92 million, 450-room resort at Graceland, a tourist destination and home of Elvis Presley’s Graceland Mansion in Memphis. The project, known as The Guest House at Graceland, is the largest hotel project in Memphis in 90 years and is expected to create 200 jobs. The hotel will feature a 464-seat theater, outdoor pool, conference rooms, outdoor meeting space known as The Lawn at The Guest House and an 11,000-square-foot ballroom. Dining options at the resort include Delta’s Kitchen, E.P.’s Bar & Grill, The Lobby Bar and the Shake, Rattle & Go coffee bar. The resort is the first phase of Graceland’s expansion, which also includes the addition of a 200,000-square-foot entertainment complex known as Elvis: Past, Present & Future, set to open in March 2017. The resort’s development team includes construction manager DreamCatcher Hotels and architect Hnedak Bobo Group. Boston-based Pyramind Hotel Group manages The Guest House at Graceland on behalf of Elvis Presley Enterprises, a corporate entity founded by The Elvis Presley Trust.

BUFORD, GA. — Clarion Partners and Seefried Properties have started construction on Buford Mill Distribution Center, a $25 million industrial development in Buford, a northeast suburb of Atlanta. Situated on 43.1 acres near the Highway 20/I-985 interchange, the project will feature two distribution buildings totaling 422,140 square feet with 32-foot minimum clear heights, T-5 lighting and trailer parking. Clarion is co-developing the project on behalf of a commingled fund it manages.

CLARKSBURG, MD. — Simon has opened Clarksburg Premium Outlets, a 392,000-square-foot outlet mall located at 22705 Clarksburg Road in Clarksburg, about 30 miles north of Washington, D.C. Simon developed the property in a joint venture arrangement with New England Properties and Streetscape. Retailers operating at Clarksburg Premium Outlets include a Nike Factory Store, Under Armour, Ann Taylor Factory, Banana Republic Factory, Gap Outlet, Armani Outlet, Kate Spade New York, Michael Kors, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, All Saints and Tory Burch. The property is the country’s first two-story outdoor outlet shopping center and Simon’s second LEED-certified Premium Outlet center.

ATLANTA — Novare Group and Batson-Cook Development Co. plan to open Atlantic House, a 32-story high-rise apartment tower in Midtown Atlanta, in mid-November. Located on the corner of 14th and West Peachtree streets, Atlantic House will feature 407 residences, two rooftop pools, a 24-hour fitness center, clubroom, outdoor kitchen, laundry service, 24-hour concierge services, business center and outdoor patio space, as well as a grilling area, tennis court and dog park on top of the attached parking garage. All residences will feature private balconies. The project also features more than 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space fronting 14th and West Peachtree streets, with Einstein’s, Caribou and McCray’s Tavern scheduled to open in early 2017. Residents have started to move into their units ahead of the Nov. 17 grand opening.

LOUISVILLE, KY. — City Club Apartments LLC, a multifamily owner and developer led by Jonathan Holtzman, has opened 800 Tower City Apartments, a 29-story high-rise tower in downtown Louisville. Built in 1963 as The 800 Building, the 286-unit property is open following a year-long, $11 million renovation program. The tower’s top floor now features the Sky Club, which includes a gourmet kitchen, fireplace, TVs, lounge seating and an outdoor terrace with a dining and grilling station. The top floor also features a fitness center and Zen garden. The rooftop amenity deck, known as Sky Park, features a swimming pool, sun deck, firepit, outdoor kitchen, bar and outdoor TVs. Other amenities include Bar Vetti on the first floor, a conference room, theater, business center, café, dog park, parking garage and personal concierge services. The renovation included upgrades to the façade, a new pocket rotunda entry, landscaping, lighting and paint. About 80 percent of the apartment residences have been renovated with the rest slated for a late November completion.

ATLANTA — Atlanta-based Monarch Private Capital and Nashville-based BNA Associates have begun the redevelopment of Hotel Clermont in Atlanta’s Poncey-Highland neighborhood. The firms are renovating the iconic hotel using Historic Tax Credits. Upon opening, the new 94-room boutique hotel will feature a restaurant and some of the original hotel’s art-deco design. Monarch and BNA worked closely with the city of Atlanta and the Georgia General Assembly, which passed House Bill 308 last year, raising the maximum tax credit allowance for historic structures from $300,000 annually to $5 million. The Poncey-Highland Neighborhood Association also supported the renovation and preservation of the landmark hotel.

PHILADELPHIA — Hollwich Kushner, serving as architect, has opened Pennovation Center, the centerpiece of the new 23-acre development at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia dedicated to innovation. The 69,314-square-foot project transformed a 20th century paint factory. The project team includes KSS Architects, Land Collective, Bruce Mau Design, Ballinger, Atelier Ten, Pennoni Associates, Focus Lighting and Hunter Roberts.

LOS ANGELES — International developer Oceanwide Holdings has unveiled plans to include a five-star Park Hyatt hotel at Oceanwide Plaza, the company’s $1 billion mixed-use project currently under development in Los Angeles. The project is located adjacent to the Staples Center, home of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, as well as the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings. When completed, Oceanwide Plaza will feature three residential and hotel towers and a 166,000-square-foot, open-air galleria for shopping, dining and entertainment. Park Hyatt Los Angeles will be the sixth U.S. location for the luxury hotel brand. CallisonRTKL and Studio Munge designed the 184-room hotel. The property will be connected to the 100-foot retail and amenity area known as The Collection at Oceanwide Plaza. The development’s multifamily component will feature 504 units with concierge services, a private amenity deck and a two-acre outdoor sanctuary. Oceanwide Plaza is scheduled for completion in early 2019. Oceanwide Plaza LLC, a subsidiary of Beijing-based Oceanwide Holdings Co., will own the development. Oceanwide Plaza is the company’s first development in the United States, with projects in New York, San Francisco and Hawaii currently in the planning stages. — Kristin Hiller

SAN ANTONIO — On behalf of Seavest Healthcare Properties, Trammell Crow Co. has begun construction on a medical office building located at 1434 E. Sonterra Blvd. in San Antonio. Seavest Healthcare Properties will own the new three-story, 60,000-square-foot Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Health Pavilion at Stone Oak. The medical office building will focus on pediatric services. CHRISTUS Santa Rosa will lease 88 percent of the property, with the remaining space leased to MedCare Associates, a primary healthcare group. Construction has already begun and is scheduled for completion in fall 2017. The development team includes general contractor Joeris, architect MKS Associates, Cooper-Lochte Landscape Architecture, Pape Dawson, RGM Engineering and Alpha Consulting Engineers.

LEBANON, OHIO — Schueler Group has nearly completed the shell construction of a $13 million build-to-suit corporate operations center for LCNB National Bank in Lebanon. Located at 105 North Broadway, halfway between Cincinnati and Dayton, the three-story building will measure 47,000 square feet. Construction began in February 2016 and is expected to be complete by late February 2017. LCNB National Bank serves customers and communities in southwest and south central Ohio.
