HARRISON, N.J. — Inspira Health Network has selected Skanska USA to build its new $350 million Gloucester County hospital in Harrison. The five-story, 204-bed hospital will be the fourth in-patient facility for the South Jersey health system, which has medical centers in Vineland, Elmer and Woodbury, N.J. Inspira purchased the land for the new hospital from Rowan University in an $11.5 million deal, which was finalized in March. The new hospital will include the construction of a main patient tower with operating rooms, an emergency department, imaging suites, as well as administrative, dining and support services. Additionally, the project will include building a new central utility plant that will provide electrical power, heating/hot water and chilled water to the new hospital. Project members include Array Architects and Leach Wallace Associates. Construction is slated to begin during the first quarter of 2017, with completion expected by December 2019.

Federal Capital, Westbridge Break Ground on Stockyards Adaptive Reuse Project in Atlanta

ATLANTA — Federal Capital Partners (FCP) and Westbridge Partners have broken ground on Stockyards, an adaptive renovation of three historic warehouses in Atlanta’s West Midtown district. Expected to open in the first quarter of 2017, Stockyards is more than 65 percent pre-leased to office and retail tenants including The Painted Duck, a sister entertainment concept to The Painted Pin; Fitzgerald & Co., an Atlanta-based advertising agency; Momentum Worldwide, an Atlanta-based sports marketing firm; Weber Shandwick, a global communications firm; Mannington Mills Inc., a flooring and carpeting showroom; and a new restaurant concept from Charleston-based The Indigo Road. Stockyards will occupy three acres on the corner of 10th Street and Brady Avenue. Designed by architectural firm ai3, the development will total 95,000 square feet of Class A office space, 13,000 square feet of street-level restaurant space, 25,000 square feet of retail space on the lower level and a 400-space parking deck. Gay Construction is Stockyards’ general contractor, Cushman & Wakefield is handling the office leasing and SunTrust Bank, represented internally by Mark Hancock, is the project’s senior lender.
TAMPA, FLA. — Crescent Communities has opened Crescent Westshore, a new 374-unit luxury apartment community located at 2202 N. Lois Ave. in Tampa’s Westshore district. Situated near the intersection of Lois Avenue and Boy Scout Boulevard, Crescent Westshore features studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences ranging from a 528-square-foot studio to a 1,431-square-foot, three-bedroom apartment. Unit interiors include stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, tile backsplashes, quiet-close cabinets and drawers and full-size washer and dryers. Community amenities include a two-story clubhouse with an outdoor elevated terrace and three courtyards. LAGRANGE, GA. — Sentury Tire, a China-based tire manufacturer, has announced plans to build a $530 million tire factory in LaGrange, approximately 65 miles southwest of Atlanta. Sentury expects the plant to create more than 1,000 jobs in production, sales, marketing, warehousing and distribution, and support the company’s U.S. operations. The company expects to start production in 2018, with a projected output of 12 million passenger and light truck tires per year. Sentury was drawn to Georgia by a tax incentive package, but details were not disclosed, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Sentury Tire products are sold under the Sentury, Landsail and Delinte brands. The company focuses on light truck and airplane tires. Approximately 70 percent of the company’s sales are in the European and U.S. markets. Sentury Tire’s parent company, Qingdao Sentury Tire Co., is based in Qingdao, China. “The state of Georgia has had a strategic office in China since 2007 and an office in Qingdao since 2013, helping foster business connections between Georgians and Chinese professionals,” says Chris Carr, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. “This project is a great example of the relationships that have been forged through active communication and engagement in China.” …
REPUBLIC, MO. — Resource Optimization & Innovation (ROi), a health care supply chain company owned by Mercy, has broken ground on its custom surgical pack manufacturing facility, located at 3000 E. Sawyer Road in Republic. Slated to open in fall 2017, the $10 million, 100,000-square-foot facility will enable the company to produce up to 1.5 million packs each year. The packs produced by ROi’s Custom Pack Solutions division contain all of the medical supplies needed to perform a range of surgical procedures. The company’s pack operation is the first and largest provider-owned, FDA-regulated custom pack manufacturing facility in the United States. The project team includes Slone Architects, Morelock-Ross and Rankin Development.
KAPOLEI, HAWAII— DeBartolo Development is set to open Ka Makana Alii, a 1.4 million-square-foot regional mall currently under construction in the West Oahu city of Kapolei, in late October. Anchored by the first Macy’s in West Oahu, Phase I of Ka Makana Alii features more than 100 shops and restaurants, a state-of-the-art Consolidated Theatres and the state’s first Hampton Inn & Suites. DeBartolo Development broke ground on the project in March 2015. Other tenants at the center will include H&M, Forever 21, Victoria’s Secret, Old Navy, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, California Pizza Kitchen, AT&T, PetSmart and Foot Locker.
LOS ANGELES — Burgerim, a better-burger concept, has opened its second U.S. location in Montclair, Calif. Burgerim is set to open 33 franchised restaurants in the next year across the country, including in Memphis, Tenn.; Boca Raton, Fla.; and Houston, Texas. Burgerim currently operates in over 200 locations in 16 countries. Burgerim’s first U.S. location is at 5001 Melrose Ave., in Los Angeles.
JACKSON, GA. – Construction is underway on Dollar General’s 15th distribution center in the United States in Jackson, which straddles both Butts and Spalding counties. The 1 million-square-foot industrial facility is expected to create more than 500 new jobs at full capacity and to be operational by fall 2017. Dollar General has more than 13,000 retail locations and 119,000 employees, with more than 700 stores and over 5,000 employees in Georgia. The new distribution center is expected to serve more than 1,000 stores in the Southeast. Dollar General’s 14 other distribution centers are located in Alabama, California, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Terwilliger Pappas Multifamily Partners has broken ground on Solis Berewick, a 275-unit apartment community in Berewick, a mixed-use development in southwest Charlotte’s Steele Creek area. The new multifamily community will be built adjacent to the Berewick Town Center’s village green close to the Harris Teeter slated to open in October. Amenities will include a clubhouse, poolside pavilion with a firepit, fitness center and a pet park. Each of Solis Berewick’s four buildings will include elevators. Terwilliger Pappas is partnering with Cigna Realty Investors on the development, and Citizens Bank is providing construction financing. The development team includes architect Cline Design Associates, interior designer Rule Joy Trammell Rubio, landscape architect and civil engineer LandDesign and general contractor Fortune Johnson. Solis Berewick will deliver its first homes and amenities for occupancy by mid-2017 with the entire community slated for completion by early 2018.
JOILET, ILL. — Hillwood, a Perot company, has acquired an 84.8-acre land site in Joliet for an undisclosed price. The company plans to develop Joliet Logistics Park, a 992,640-square-foot distribution center, on the site. With easy access to I-80 and I-55 and close proximity to BNSF and Union Pacific intermodal operations, the new spec facility will feature 36-foot clear heights, a cross-dock configuration, an ESFR fire protection system, 116 trailer parking spaces with an additional 150 remote spaces, and up to 222 auto space with another 310 available for future expansion. The park, which will have the capacity to expand to 1.5 million square feet, is slated for completion in mid-2017. FCL Builders will serve as the general contractor, and Traci Payette and John Suerth of CBRE will be leasing agents for the project.
