DEARBORN, MICH. — Mid-America Real Estate-Michigan Inc. has arranged a 1,388-square-foot retail lease for J-Bees in Dearborn, approximately 10 miles west of Detroit. J-Bees will open a new high-end specialty apparel concept called SIZE at Fairlane Town Center, a 125-store shopping center located at 18900 Michigan Ave. SIZE, which will open by the end of the year, carries designers such as Balmain, Rock Revival, UGG Australia, Salvatore Ferragamo, Adidas, Ralph Lauren, Cole Haan and Kanye West’s fashion line Yeezy. This store will be J-Bees’ first SIZE location in Michigan. Brad Rosenberg and Aleyciuss Al-Ali of Mid-America represented the tenant in the transaction.

Circle-T-Concept-Master-Plan

WESTLAKE, TEXAS — Hillwood and The Howard Hughes Corp. (NYSE: HHC) have launched a 130-acre mixed-use development at Circle T Ranch, a 2,500-acre master planned community in Westlake that is part of the larger 18,000-acre AllianceTexas development. The project, which is situated at the junction of State Highways 114 and 170, will include more than 2 million square feet of office, retail and entertainment space and will be anchored by the 500,000-square-foot corporate campus for Charles Schwab Corp. The planned mixed-use development will include 1.2 million square feet of combined Class A mid-rise office space with retail and entertainment uses, as well as a 200-room hotel and residential options. The project will also include land for parks, open space and creeks. Nature trails and a fitness center in the retail district will offer individuals additional health and fitness options.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Hilton Worldwide has opened Hilton Garden Inn Asheville Downtown, its 700th Hilton Garden Inn hotel worldwide. The 140-room hotel is located at 309 College St., within walking distance of Pack Square, art galleries, breweries and shopping. The hotel will feature a rooftop bar, 24-hour convenience store called The Pavilion Pantry and a farm-to-table restaurant called Iron Hen Cafe. Other amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi access, a 24-hour business center, fitness center, indoor swimming pool and spa. Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Quality Oil Co. LLC manages the Hilton Garden Inn Asheville Downtown, which joins Hilton Garden Inns operating in all 50 states and in 31 countries.

AURORA, COLO. — Majestic Realty Co. has announced plans to build the largest single-phase speculative industrial development in Colorado’s history, according to the firm. The three buildings will contain a total of 834,580 square feet of spec industrial warehouse and distribution space that will be situated within the Majestic Commercenter. The developers plan to break ground on the new buildings this fall for completion by summer 2017. At that time, Majestic Commercenter will feature 4.2 million square feet throughout 17 buildings. Amazon recently pre-leased a 452,400-square-foot building at the center.

HOUSTON — Transwestern has represented MOD Pizza in 11 new leases in Houston, bringing the restaurant chain to 15 open and planned Houston locations. Transwestern’s Grant Walker and Chris Reyes, who serve as exclusive advisors for MOD Pizza in the Houston market, represented the chain in the transactions. MOD is operating nearly 150 stores across the United States and the United Kingdom and plans to open 50 more stores by the end of 2016, including five UK locations. MOD Pizza’s most recently opened Houston locations include: Riverpark Shopping Center(3,175 square feet) at 19820 Southwest Freeway in Sugar Land; The Market at Crenshaw (2,600 square feet) at 4541 E. Sam Houston Parkway S. in Pasadena; Meadows Marketplace(2,600 square feet) at 6825 S. FLAGSTAFF, ARIZ. — Welbrook Senior Living has started construction of a 50-bed skilled nursing facility in Flagstaff. Services at the facility will focus on transitional rehabilitation. Development costs were estimated at $13 million. Welbrook has partnered with Embree Asset Group to develop the facility. Construction is slated for completion in late 2017. Based in California, Welbrook is a seniors housing operator just entering the transitional rehab space. Embree is a construction and development company that has worked in all 50 states.

HOUSTON — Method Architecture has completed an interior renovation of Level Office, located in downtown Houston’s Scanlan Building. Constructed in 1909, the Scanlan Building reaches 11 stories, situated at the intersection of Main and Preston streets. Purchased in late 2013 by Chicago-based Level Office, the three-story renovation project includes revitalizing office suites and common areas and establishing a co-working facility. Geared toward freelancers, entrepreneurs and small businesses, the suites offer an entry receptionist, card reader security and access to shared spaces including a common lounge, kitchen and conference facilities. Method Architecture preserved the building’s original marble and wood flooring and paired those elements with exposed ceilings, wrought iron columns and Edison bulb lighting. Burton Construction was the general contractor on the project.

CARLSBAD, CALIF. — Badiee Development has acquired two land parcels totaling 8.4 acres in the Carlsbad Oaks North Business Park for $6 million. The development firm plans to build a speculative flex industrial campus named Carlsbad Oaks Innovation Park on the lots. The two-building campus will contain a total of 102,937 square feet offering a mix of office and functional warehouse space. Badiee will break ground on the campus in the first quarter of 2017, with an expected completion date in the fourth quarter of that year. Tucker Hohenstein and Mike Erwin of Colliers International represented both Badiee and the seller, Kilroy Realty, in this transaction. The team also serves as the project’s listing brokers, along with Conor Boyle.

CELEBRATION, FLA. — Big Rock Partners has started construction of a luxury continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in the Orlando suburb of Celebration. The project, which doesn’t yet have a name, has increased in size since it was announced last year. The $60 million development costs have increased to $82 million, and the 225 planned units have increased to 239. The six-story community will sit on a nine-acre site, and is the only planned seniors housing development in Celebration, according to Big Rock. Balfour Beatty is the construction manager on the project, which is scheduled for completion in spring 2018. Gensler designed the community. Once complete, Life Care Services will operate. Big Rock Partners is a private real estate investment management firm with three seniors housing projects in Florida under development worth approximately $200 million.

CHICAGO — Laurus Corp. has completed a $7.6 million renovation of the 362-room Chicago Renaissance O’Hare Suites Hotel. The 15-story building features a restaurant and bar, Starbucks coffee shop, business center, fitness center, indoor heated pool, whirlpool spa, 13 conference suites, a 5,000-square-foot ballroom and approximately 21,500 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel is located at 8500 W. Bryn Mawr Ave.
