ORLANDO, FLA. — Brasfield & Gorrie’s Orlando office has completed construction on The Sevens, a 360,000-square-foot apartment building situated on a 2.5-acre lot between Park Lake Street and Colonial Drive in Orlando’s North Quarter district. The property features 333 luxury units, a seven-level parking garage and 8,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The Sevens’ amenities include a rooftop pool deck with a lounge and bar, fitness center and a ninth-floor clubhouse. Units feature granite and quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and balconies in select units. The project team includes developer and owner The Pizzuti Cos. and architect Charlan Brock & Associates.

HUNTSVILLE, ALA. — Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate Group has announced a new redevelopment of a vacant corner lot at Holmes Avenue and Greene Street in downtown Huntsville. Crunkleton is the leasing agent of the project, known as 225 Holmes. The property will span 32,000 square feet and feature shops, office space and possibly a rooftop restaurant or entertainment venue. Designed by architect Nola | VanPeursem, 225 Holmes will be situated across the street from Below the Radar, Sip and Old Town Beer Exchange. The development is expected to bring 150 to 200 daytime jobs to downtown Huntsville, according to Eric St. John of Crunkleton. Construction is scheduled to begin in the fall, and the first anchor tenant for the building will be announced at the groundbreaking ceremony.
CHICAGO — Fifield Cos. has completed a 12-month renovation of a 106,000-square-foot office property in Chicago’s West Loop. The eight-story Burnham 600 is located at 600 W. Jackson Blvd. and was designed by Daniel Burnham in 1912. After purchasing the building in 2015, Fifield Cos. renovated the lobby, hallways and elevators, and added new signage and a security desk. Fifield Cos. also made renovations to the building’s sixth floor, where the company’s 6,500-square-foot headquarters office is located. Other tenants in the building include Assemble, Bravo Foods, Evan Law Group, Family Health Network, Gibraltar Capital Advisors, Mark IV Realty, OKW Architects, Reed Construction, Seneca Real Estate Advisors and Starwood Hotels.
NewMark Merrill Completes Phase I of Development at Former Twin Peaks Mall in Longmont

LONGMONT, COLO. — NewMark Merrill Cos. has completed Phase I of development at Village at the Peaks, a 500,000-square-foot lifestyle center located in Longmont. The property was the former site of Twin Peaks Mall, which NewMark Merrill acquired in 2012 for $8.5 million. Tenants at the 90 percent-occupied center include anchors Whole Foods Market, Sam’s Club and Regal Cinemas. Phase II of the development, which will total up to 40,000 square feet, is currently being marketed for lease.
MINNEAPOLIS — A joint venture between CA Residential LLC and Harlem Irving Cos. has broken ground on RISE at Prospect Park, a 530,842-square-foot, mixed-use development in Minneapolis. The project will include a seven-story structure with 150 apartments; an adjacent 13-story tower with an additional 186 units; and 40,000 square feet of street-level retail. A 30,000-square-foot Fresh Thyme will anchor the development. The project will be located at 2929 University Ave. SE and is scheduled to be delivered in March 2018. Residences at RISE at Prospect Park will offer a mix of studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 470 to 1,423 square feet. Each unit will feature 9-foot ceilings, hardwood-style flooring, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, USB outlets and in-unit washers and dryers. OLATHE, KAN. — The Opus Group has unveiled plans for a 205,000-square-foot speculative industrial facility in Olathe, approximately 30 miles southwest of Kansas City. 56 Commerce Center is the first phase of a 505,000-square-foot master-planned project. The building, located on 53 acres at the southeast corner of Old 56 Highway and Loan Elm Road, is slated to be completed in January 2017. The multi-tenant facility will feature office space, 32-foot clear heights and a truck court. Opus will provide development, construction and architectural services for the project, and Joe Orscheln and Mike Mitchelson of CBRE will market the property for lease.
BROOMFIELD, COLO. — Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom’s franchise partners are reinvesting an average of $150,000 into refreshing 37 existing franchised restaurants. This effort will include renovations to the interior and exterior, as well as to the dining room and beer equipment. Upgrades to beer equipment and systems include a new tap tower, glass mug coolers, stainless glass storage cabinet and stein racks. The restaurants will also now display its beer menu on a mounted, 60-inch LCD screen. As part of the refresh, the service team will also undergo extensive beer training. Additional interior renovations include front-of-the-house upgrades to its wall signage and décor, fresh paint, new tabletops and bases, backless barstools and a community table that seats up to 20. Old Chicago’s exteriors will display an updated logo as well as a new exterior monument. To complement the new design elements, the company is now working with Open Table and using its software for all reservation systems. HOUSTON — MCR Development has completed a renovation of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Houston Intercontinental Airport, a 131-room select-service hotel in Houston. Located between I-45 and I-69, the hotel features an updated lobby and guestrooms with new furniture, lighting and carpet. Additional improvements include new exercise equipment in the fitness center and lounge furniture on the patio. The hotel’s meeting center and 2,585-square-foot ballroom were modernized as well.
RENO, NEV. — Home furnishings retailer West Elm will open a new store in Reno on August 11, 2016. Occupying 11,000 square feet on the main floor of the former U.S. Post Office building at 50 S. Virginia St., West Elm Reno joins The Basement marketplace, an underground multi-use venue that celebrates hand-crafted food and retail. As part of West Elm’s LOCAL program, products from eight Reno-based makers and designers will be featured with the store’s fall assortment of modern furnishings and décor. West Elm Reno is housed within Reno’s former main post office, built in 1934 and located at the heart of the city’s civic center. Today, the landmark has been restored and stands as a relic of Art Deco style in downtown Reno. Guided by historical preservation, West Elm has incorporated the building’s original architecture and ornate details in the store’s design. Preserved period elements such as the original post office boxes were used to display the West Elm sign behind the register, while motifs from the building’s exterior door pediments were recreated from raw wood and metal materials for the front cash wrap. CHICAGO — Summit Design + Build LLC has completed a 12,000-square-foot early childhood education center in Chicago’s Wicker Park/Bucktown neighborhood. The Michael R. Lutz Family Center is a two-story building located at 2129 W. North Ave. The center is owned and run by the Jewish Council for Youth Services. The facility features seven classrooms, staff offices and a 2,000-square-foot outdoor play area. OKW Architects provided architectural services for the project.
