DUNWOODY, GA. — Hilton Worldwide has opened Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Dunwoody, a 132-room hotel located at 4565 Ashford Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody. Hotel Equities manages the hotel, which features free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour business center, 500-square-foot meeting space, indoor pool and a fitness center. The hotel is situated about 23 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
ASHBURN, VA. — St. John Properties Inc. has begun construction on two speculative industrial facilities totaling 90,000 square feet in Ashburn. Designed to LEED Gold standards, the brick and glass buildings will feature frontage on Loudoun County Parkway and 18-foot clear heights. The properties represent the first phase of development for Ashburn Crossing, an 81-acre mixed-use development situated five miles south of Washington-Dulles International Airport. On full build-out, Ashburn Crossing will span more than 1 million square feet.
DELAND, FLA. — Brookdale Senior Living has announced plans to add 32 memory care units and 42 assisted living units to Brookdale DeLand, the company’s community in DeLand, approximately 40 miles north of Orlando. The cost of the expansion will be $8 million. In addition to the new units, the project will add an onsite therapy gym to the community. Brookdale is the largest owner and operator of seniors housing properties in the United States.
SunCal, Diversified Realty Break Ground on $1B Mixed-Use Development along Hudson River in New York

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. — A joint venture between SunCal and Diversified Realty Advisors has broken ground on Edge-On-Hudson, a $1 billion development on the Hudson River in Sleepy Hollow, located approximately 20 miles upriver from New York City. The 70-acre project will contain 1,177 units of housing, 135,000 square feet of retail space, 30,000 square feet of office space and a 140-room boutique hotel, the first in Sleepy Hollow. The project will also feature 16 acres of open space and a waterfront promenade that links the existing Westchester County RiverWalk to the south and Kingsland Point Park to the north. Edge-On-Hudson is being built on the site of the former General Motors assembly plant. The space has been empty since the automotive manufacturer vacated in 1996. Phase I will include 306 units of housing, including 40 senior affordable units and 21 affordable workforce units. There will be 188 loft-style apartments in the four-story Loft District section at the eastern edge of the property, plus 46 three- and four-story condominium homes and 72 townhomes in the Central Park District. OKLAHOMA CITY — Love Funding has secured a $37.5 million loan for the construction and permanent financing of Chisholm Creek Apartments, a new market-rate apartment community in Oklahoma City. Leonard Lucas of Love Funding’s Boston office secured the financing through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 221(d)(4) loan insurance program. The program insures financing for the new construction or substantial rehabilitation of multifamily rental or cooperative housing for moderate-income families, the elderly and the handicapped. The 287-unit, four-story building is part of the Chisholm Creek master development in northwest Oklahoma City, and will feature an urban-style wrap layout encompassing a courtyard and pool area with a parking garage at each end. Other amenities will include a clubroom, business center, fitness center, coffee bar and two dog parks. Charlie Nicholas of N.E. Construction, the project’s general contractor, is leading the development.
MASON, OHIO —CA Senior LLC (CAS) has entered into a joint venture with an affiliate of Goldman, Sachs & Co. to develop a 101-unit seniors housing community in the Cincinnati suburb of Mason. The community will contain 68 assisted living units and 33 memory care units. It is scheduled to open in summer 2017. Senior Lifestyle Corp. will manage the community. The facility represents the first project in a 14-property pipeline for the joint venture. Evercore Partners acted as financial advisor to CAS in the formation of the joint venture. Polsinelli acted as legal adviser to CAS. Goldman Sachs will serve as a capital provider in the joint venture.
COLUMBUS, OHIO — Nationwide Realty Investors is set to begin the development of a mixed-use building at the north end of Grandview Yard, a 1.2 million-square-foot commercial development in Columbus. The four-story Manchester Building will consist of over 14,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space and 123 residential units. The property will be located on Yard Street adjacent to the new Nationwide campus.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CALIF. — JLL Retail has launched the $150 million redevelopment of Manhattan Village Shopping Center, a 44-acre, 573,000-square-foot mixed-use center in Manhattan Beach. The redevelopment plan begins with the update and remerchandising of the center’s interior mall. Key tenants, including Apple, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Sephora and Victoria’s Secret, among others, will be joined by affordable, luxury-brand retail, unique-to-market shops and signature restaurants. Future phases of the development plan include: • The Village Shops, a 53,300-square-foot open-air expansion of retail and restaurant space adjacent to the enclosed mall; • The renovation of the existing community center component, which is anchored by Ralph’s Fresh Fare and CVS/pharmacy; • The addition of amenities that complement the environmentally friendly setting, including a central plaza, pedestrian and bike-friendly paths, valet service, consolidated and covered parking, landscaping and water features
OLD BRIDGE, N.J. — The Brunetti Organization is developing The Oaks at Glenwood, a 2,400-acre mixed-use town center development in Old Bridge. Construction for the 90,000-square-foot ShopRite supercenter is slated to begin soon, with occupancy of the grocery store and other retail tenants scheduled for summer 2017. ShopRite will anchor the retail portion of the property. Upon completion, the mixed-use property will feature 2,000 residential units and more than 500,000 square feet of retail space. The Goldstein Group is marketing the retail portion of the property.
