ALLENTOWN, PA. — City Center Investment Corp. is developing a 12-story Class A office building at Sixth and Hamilton streets at City Center Lehigh Valley in downtown Allentown. Named Tower 6, the 145,000-square-foot building is slated to open in early 2018. Constructed of glass and steel, the tower will feature upscale retail space on the first floor and 360-degree views from floors six through 12. City Center Lehigh Valley, a mixed-use development transforming downtown Allentown, is currently home to three Class A office buildings offering cutting-edge, efficient environmental control systems, customized access-control systems and a professional property management team.

EAU CLAIRE, WIS. — DoubleTree by Hilton has reopened a 112-room hotel in Eau Claire after a $21 million rebuild. Pablo Properties owns The Lismore Hotel Eau Claire, and Interstate Hotels & Resorts manages the property. The eight-story hotel’s design and name is inspired by the city of Lismore, Australia. Amenities at the property include a 24-hour fitness facility, 24-hour business center, full-service restaurant, coffee shop, bar and 14,000 square feet of meeting space, which includes a 7,200-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate 620 guests. Plans also include the addition of an indoor pool. Guest rooms feature skyline and river views, 42-inch high-definition televisions, mini-refrigerators, coffeemakers and complimentary Wi-Fi. The Lismore Hotel Eau Claire – a DoubleTree by Hilton is located at 333 Gibson St.

ORLAND PARK, ILL. — Caddis has unveiled plans for a new senior living facility in Orland Park, approximately 25 miles southwest of Chicago. Heartis Village Orland Park, located at 159th Street and Harlem Avenue, will be a 94-unit, 89,950-square-foot assisted living facility. Caddis began developing its first Illinois facility last year in Peoria, and the project is expected to open this fall. Both properties will be owned by Caddis and managed by Pathway Senior Living LLC. Heartis Village Orland Park will feature a salon and spa with a therapeutic tub, two interior courtyards, a large dining room, a private dining room, chef-prepared meals, daily activities, an arts and crafts room, media room, licensed nursing services, 24-hour emergency call system, housekeeping and laundry services and personal transportation. Austin, Texas-based Katus LLC is the architect, and Rosemont, Ill.-based McShane Construction Company LLC is the general contractor. The project is slated for delivery next fall.

NEW YORK CITY — HAP Investments is developing a residential complex with both for-sale and rental units at 215 W. 28th St. in Chelsea. Designed by DXA Architects, the two-building, 290,000-square-foot apartment complex will feature residences ranging in size from studios to four-bedroom units, outdoor spaces and 15,000 square feet of amenity space, including a 50-foot pool, full-service gym with yoga studio and children’s interactive space. The residential towers are currently in pre-construction phase with condo units slated for completion in summer 2018 and rental units expected for delivery by year-end 2018.

SAN ANTONIO — Bob Moore Construction has broken ground on a regional financial servicing center in San Antonio for GM Financial Credit Inc. The servicing center is the fifth in North America for GM Financial. The new facility is projected to employ up to 700 people in the Westover Hills area of the city. The project received a $2.5 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund, as well as tax incentives from the city of San Antonio and Bexar County. San Antonio-based RVK Architects is the architect and Pape-Dawson Engineers Inc. is the civil engineer. The new building will include 100,000 square feet of office and call center facilities over two floors. The building will also include 720 parking spaces for employees and guests. The building is projected to go into operation in mid-2017.

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. — Five Star Development has announced plans to build a high-end mixed-use center that will be connected to the $2 billion Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley master-planned development in Scottsdale. Phase I of The Palmeraie will encompass approximately 160,000 square feet of mixed-use space located on 18 acres at the corner of Scottsdale Road and Indian Bend. Tenants at Phase I will include over 60 luxury and specialty retailers and a variety of chef-driven restaurant concepts. A future phase is expected to include luxury residences, a gourmet grocery store and food emporium, and a boutique hotel. Five Star is consulting with Hanna Struever, principal of Retail Portfolio Solutions, to guide and create the luxury merchant mix within the center. Nelsen Partners is heading up the architectural vision of the project, which will be designed to create a series of indoor and outdoor spaces. The Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley will break ground this summer with completion of the hotel and residences expected for 2018. Construction on The Palmeraie is expected to break ground in the second half of this year.

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WIS. — Majestic Realty Co. will develop a new 424,164-square-foot industrial facility at its Majestic Badger Logistics Center in Pleasant Prairie, approximately 40 miles south of Milwaukee near the Illinois border. The speculative building is the first of two new facilities that will add over 1.2 million square feet of space to the 88-acre site. The property will feature 36-foot clear heights, 50-by-52 foot bays, an ESFR sprinkler system, 111 trailer parking stalls, 292 car parking spaces and a 370-foot combined truck courtyard. The Class A building can accommodate four tenants and will be delivered by the end of this year.

JB Duke Hotel Durham Duke University

DURHAM, N.C. — Duke University plans to develop a $62 million hotel on its west campus in Durham. Located at 230 Science Drive, the 198-room JB Duke Hotel will feature two bars, a restaurant, landscaped courtyards and terraces, local décor and furnishings and a grand hall with a two-story glass wall. The hotel will also feature the 20,850-square-foot Thomas Executive Conference Center, which will comprise a 5,450-square-foot ballroom, multi-purpose spaces, two boardrooms, two 65-seat classrooms, pre-function spaces and a business center. Duke University’s MBA programs will use the hotel and conference facilities for working professionals and non-degree executive education courses hosted by the school’s Fuqua School of Business. The hotel will be within walking distance of Cameron Indoor Stadium, Wallace Wade Stadium, Koskinen Stadium, the Duke medical center, Duke Chapel, Sarah P. Duke Gardens and a 2,200-space parking garage that is currently under construction. Duke University has selected Durham-based WDI Hospitality LLC to manage JB Duke Hotel, which is a “father-and-son property” with Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, which is also owned by Duke University and managed by WDI Hospitality. Duke University expects to start taking reservations at JB Duke Hotel in January 2017.

NASHVILLE, TENN. — GBT Realty Corp. plans to develop Belcourt Park, a $20 million, 76-unit multifamily development located in Nashville’s Hillsboro Village. The new property is designed for Nashville’s workforce population in need of affordable housing. Situated on a 0.7-acre site on Belcourt Avenue, the new apartment community will replace a building that most recently housed the Belmont Nursing Home, which closed in 2015. GBT Realty will develop the four-story property consistent with Nashville’s T4 Neighborhood Plan that outlines the need for more live/work/play developments in the city. The property will feature an onsite leasing and management office, concealed 84-space parking structure, limited street parking, bike racks and common amenities including a Wi-Fi workspace, espresso bar, fitness facility and a landscaped patio area with cabanas and fire pits. Floor plans will include studio, one- and two-bedroom residences, each equipped with complimentary Google Fiber and NEST Learning Thermostats. GBT Realty is not seeking public funding or concessions for the project. The Brentwood, Tenn.-based developer purchased the site for Belcourt Park in 2015 for $3.4 million. The property, which recently underwent a renovation, is owned and managed by Linchris Hotel Corp.
