COCOA BEACH, FLA. — Hilton Worldwide has opened Homewood Suites by Hilton Cape Canaveral-Cocoa Beach, a 153-room hotel in Cocoa Beach. The new property is the brand’s first hotel in the market. Located at 9000 Astronaut Blvd., Homewood Suites Cape Canaveral-Cocoa Beach is near the Kennedy Space Center, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Port Canaveral shops and restaurants and the Cocoa Beach Pier. Sunbelt Hospitality is the hotel’s developer and owner. The hotel features an outdoor pool, fitness center, complimentary breakfast, an evening social Monday-Thursday, Wi-Fi and grocery shopping services.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CALIF. — Ware Malcomb has completed the construction of two auto dealerships – Allen Hyundai and Allen Cadillac GMC – in Laguna Niguel. Located at 28332 and 28432 Camino Capistrano, the combined projects for Allen Family Automotive Group total 36,839 square feet. The two-story Allen Cadillac GMC dealership offers 20,410 square feet of showroom and office space. The Hyundai dealership project included a 16,429-square-foot service facility and parts storage building, which was integrated into the existing building that was expanded from 2,271 square feet to 4,041 square feet. Ware Malcomb provided architectural, interior design and branding services for the project.
THE COLONY, TEXAS — Real estate developer Jackson-Shaw and hotel operator Crescent Hotels & Resorts have opened a Courtyard by Marriott to join Fairfield Inn & Suites and Residence Inn in the Cascades at The Colony development. A grand opening event will be held on Thursday, April 28. Jackson-Shaw developed the 100-acre, mixed-use campus to establish a commercial development along the north side of Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH121). Aiming to enhance the dining and entertainment scene of The Colony and north Texas, the development will also be home to a restaurant known as The Oasis at Cascades. The new Courtyard is now accepting reservations.
KANSAS CITY, MO. — Real Estate Equities Development, a Minnesota-based development and management firm, has announced plans for The Village Cooperative of Verona Hills, a 63-unit seniors housing cooperative in Kansas City. Cooperatives are a type of active adult community that allows residents to share the costs of common amenities. The three-story community is age restricted for residents 62 and older. The amenities include a community room with kitchen, guest suite, club room, reading areas, outdoor gardening beds, workshop, fitness center, an on-site manager and heated underground parking. Units range from 876 to 1,602 square feet.
JERSEY CITY, N.J. — BelovED Community Charter School has acquired a half-acre parcel of land located at 535 Grand St. in Jersey City. Friends of the BelovED Charter School, a non-profit organization to support the development of the school and other charter schools, will develop a 40,000-square-foot middle school on the site. The non-profit is expected to obtain a mortgage and construction financing of $12 million from New Jersey Community Capital for the project. Designed by Urbahn Architects, the four-story school will serve 240 students in grades six to nine and feature 15 classrooms, four half classrooms, two science rooms, two art rooms, a music room, a cafetorium with warming kitchen, a gymnasium with a mezzanine, a media center/library, administrative offices and a large sub-dividable multipurpose room, as well as a 31-car parking lot and an outdoor assembly/recreation space.
MARIETTA, GA. — Atlanta United FC, Major League Soccer’s (MLS) 22nd franchise, has released details and renderings for its $60 million training facility underway in Marietta, a northern suburb of Atlanta. Designed by Atlanta-based tvsdesign, the project will include six playing fields and a 30,000-square-foot facility that will house both the professional and academy teams for the club, which will begin its first MLS season in 2017. Located along Marietta’s Franklin Road on a 33-acre site, the training facility will be used by professional and soccer academy players, along with the club’s executive and soccer operations staff. The project is expected to bring 80 high-paying jobs to the area. Atlanta United will play in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium currently under construction in downtown Atlanta. The team is owned by Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank and is led by club president Darren Eales.
Duke Realty Signs Two Leases Totaling 76,316 SF at Turnpike Crossing in Palm Beach County

WESTON, FLA. — Duke Realty Corp. has signed leases with two tenants for 76,316 square feet at Turnpike Crossing 1315, a 124,523-square-foot industrial facility under construction in Palm Beach County at Florida’s Turnpike and Jog Road in Weston. Straight Line Millwork leased 23,066 square feet and RMB USA leased 53,250 square feet, making the project more than 60 percent pre-leased. Turnpike Crossing 1315 is part of Turnpike Crossing, Duke Realty’s 67.2-acre industrial park that can accommodate roughly 882,850 square feet. Turnpike Crossing 1315 is nearly complete and will feature 32-foot clear heights, 41 dock doors, 40- by 50-foot column spacing and 50- by 50-foot dock bays. Turnpike Crossing 1315 will share a 180-foot truck court with Turnpike Crossing 1333, and both will feature mechanically attached roofs and ESFR sprinkler systems.
BOSTON — CBRE/New England has arranged $84.3 million in total financing for Serenity, a to-be-built apartment community in Boston’s Longwood Medical Area. The borrower, Longwood Group, has begun construction on the 195-unit property. John Kelly, Michael Prakken and Sam Dylag of CBRE/NE procured the financing for the borrower. Upon completion, the property will feature one 15-story building with both low- and mid-rise sections and approximately 1,860 square feet of street-level retail space. On-site amenities will include a pool, green roof space, a lounge, billiards rooms, kitchen, fitness center, library and computer room.
WOODLAWN, MD. — Knott Realty Group has begun construction on Rolling Run Technology Park, a single-story, 58,000-square-foot office building located at 2270 Rolling Run Drive in Woodlawn, a town in Baltimore County’s Windsor Mill neighborhood. The real estate development and management company expects to deliver the Class A property this fall. The Mullan Contracting Co. will serve as the general contractor for the building. The building will feature 16-foot ceilings, private office entries and a parking ratio of 4.5 spaces per 1,000 square feet. The property will be situated adjacent to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services office complex and will be roughly two miles from I-695.
