Celebration Pointe Regal Cinemas Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, FLA. — Knoxville, Tenn.-based Regal Entertainment Group plans to open a new 10-screen, reserved-seating luxury theater at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville. The theater will feature upscale recliners, a lobby with a full-service bar and lounge seating. Located at the intersection of I-75 and Archer Road and anchored by Bass Pro Shops, the $200 million, 1 million-square-foot Celebration Pointe will feature a mix of approximately 400,000 square feet of entertainment, outlet retail and restaurants uses. Phase I of Celebration Pointe is slated to open in fall 2016.

HOUSTON — Allied Orion Group has broken ground on The Beacon at Buffalo Pointe, a 281-unit apartment complex in Houston. Scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2016, The Beacon at Buffalo Pointe will be located near the Texas Medical Center. Developed by Allied Orion Group and designed by Steinberg Design Collaborative Architects, The Beacon at Buffalo Pointe is located at 10301 Buffalo Speedway. Situated just outside of Loop 610, the community offers access to both 610 and Highway 288 and a short commute to downtown Houston. Floor plans will range from one to three bedrooms.

Cinepolis-Bridgeport-CT

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. — Cinépolis USA has signed on to open a luxury 12-screen, 1,200-seat hybrid theater at Steelpointe Harbor, a mixed-use development in Bridgeport. The 50,000-square-foot theater will offer five Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas auditoriums with fully reclining leather seats and in-theater waiter service and dining with a full bar, and seven Cinépolis auditoriums with comfortable seating and access to a gourmet menu and full bar in the lobby. The theater, which is slated to open in 2017, will be the company’s first location in Connecticut. Bridgeport Landing Development LLC, a subsidiary of The RCI Group, is developing Steelpointe Harbor, a two million-square-foot waterfront project. The first phase of the development is slated to open this year and construction on the second phase scheduled to begin in 2016.

CHICAGO — Construction has begun on the $75 million Vue53, a mixed-use project that will serve the Hyde Park and Kenwood neighborhoods in Chicago. The development team, which includes Avison Young, Peak Campus Development and financial partner Blue Vista Capital Management, was awarded the assignment by the University of Chicago to develop, finance and manage the project. Vue53 is located near the intersection of 53rd Street and Kenwood Avenue, directly north of Nichols Park, and will include 28,000 square feet of ground-level retail, 267 apartment units and 225 parking spaces. The project is a collaborative effort by the University of Chicago, the City of Chicago and the Hyde Park community to create a mixed-use district and to broaden the scope of products and services available to the Hyde Park and Kenwood communities. The project will offer affordable housing units and is being developed without tax increment financing or other public subsidies. The residential component will include studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. Vue53 is slated for completion in September 2016.

DULUTH, GA. — Atlanta-based Fuqua Development and The Worthing Cos. have begun construction on Sugarloaf Market, a 31-acre mixed-use development located at the intersection of Sugarloaf Parkway and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Duluth, an eastern suburb of Atlanta in Gwinnett County. Upon completion, Sugarloaf Market will feature 75,000 square feet of retail space and 330 upscale apartment residences. Fuqua Development is the master developer of the project and is developing the retail portion, and The Worthing Cos. is developing the residential component, named The Heights at Sugarloaf. Anchored by Sprouts Farmers Market, the retail portion of the development will be leased to Chipotle Mexican Grill, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Orangetheory Fitness, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, Zoe’s Kitchen, RaceTrac, Waffle House, Panda Express, Banfield Pet Hospital, Supercuts, Luxury Nail, Pie Five Pizza and AT&T. The retailers are expected to open for business in spring 2016. The Heights at Sugarloaf will offer apartment homes featuring high-end finishes, designer-inspired appointments and appliances, along with onsite amenities such as a resort-style swimming pool and deck with Wi-Fi, grilling areas, a fitness club and other lifestyle services. Burlington Coat Factory Shoppes at Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — GBT Realty Corp. has acquired a 15-acre site on US Highway 401/Skibo Road and Richwood Court in Fayetteville that will house The Shoppes of Fayetteville. The $25 million, 126,500-square-foot center will be anchored by Fayetteville’s first Burlington Coat Factory and an unnamed sporting goods retailer. The shopping center will be located adjacent to The Home Depot and Target. The Brentwood, Tenn.-based developer plans to deliver the shopping center in summer 2016, with the 50,000-square-foot Burlington opening in spring 2016.

INDIANAPOLIS — American Campus Communities Inc. will break ground on Sunset Student Residences, a 633-bed sophomore residence hall on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, this month. The $40 million facility will open in August 2016. The site previously had been a parking lot. Sunset Student Residences is the result of a partnership between ACC and Butler University. ACC will build and maintain the facility, while Butler will provide staff to manage the building. Sunset Student Residences will feature suites of three- and four-bedroom floor plans.

Clarks-Americas-Waltham-MA

WALTHAM, MASS. — Clarks Americas Inc., a subsidiary of Somerset, England-based C&J Clark Limited, plans to construct a new corporate headquarters facility in Waltham. The company has signed a 15-year lease for the to-be-built 120,000-square-foot property located at 1265 Main St. The four-story building will feature a roof deck, 5,200 square feet of private outdoor terrace space, and an employee retail store and employee fitness center. Additionally, the property will feature 10-foot high windows, 50-foot skylights, a three-story lobby and covered parking. Boston Properties is the lead developer for the project, which is being designed by Spagnolo Gisness & Associates Inc. and ADD Inc. now with Stantec. Clarks Americas Inc. plans to move into the new facility in phases starting in late fall 2016.

MEMPHIS, TENN. — Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid, a new national destination experience located in downtown Memphis, is now open to the public. Located inside a massive transformed sports arena, the project includes a wilderness hotel called Big Cypress Lodge, nearly 600,000 gallons of water features, a cypress swamp with 100-foot-tall trees, the interactive Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center and The Lookout, a glass-floored cantilevering observation deck at the top of the steel Pyramid. Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid represents the largest investment in size and scope that Bass Pro Shops has ever made outside of its national headquarters in Springfield, Mo., and includes a number of amenities and attractions including the first hotel located inside a Bass Pro Shops store. Standing 32 stories tall along the banks of the Mississippi River, the Pyramid is an icon of the Memphis skyline. Lakeland Logistics Center

LAKELAND, FLA. — AEW Capital Management LP has purchased two land parcels totaling 46.6 acres at Lakeland Logistics Center, an existing business park in Lakeland. A joint venture between AEW, Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management (MassPRIM) and Ridge Development Co. plans to develop two Class A distribution centers on the land parcels. The facilities will each span 245,000 square feet and feature 32-foot clear heights, ESFR sprinklers, cross-dock configurations, 185-foot private truck courts, 45 trailer parking spaces and a 200-foot shared truck court. AEW, MassPRIM and Ridge Development plan to develop the facilities in two phases with construction slated to begin in June. Upon completion, Julia Silva Rettig, Jeff Lamm, Jared Bonshire and David Perez of Cushman & Wakefield will provide leasing services for the two distribution centers.
