KANSAS CITY, MO. — Construction is complete on the McGee Building, a mixed-use loft-style building at 2980 Gillham Road in Kansas City. The property is located in the Union Hill neighborhood, a 16-block district in Kansas City that features entertainment, dining, condominiums, retail, office space, a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott and green space. The building will offer 56 loft-style residential units, as well as 4,325 to 18,000 square feet of retail space. The building is named after Allan B.H. McGee, one of Kansas City’s earliest settlers. The building will feature reclaimed timber furniture from local craftsman Jim Drew, a gallery of rotating art in the first-floor lobby, rainwater cistern and nearly $1.2 million in streetscaping around the building. Units range in price from $850 to $1,510 per month.

RED BANK, N.J. — Woodmont Properties and Metrovation have opened West Side Lofts, a luxury apartment community in Red Bank. FRISCO, TEXAS — The Dallas Cowboys have unveiled the name of their planned 91-acre mixed-use development that will include the team’s new headquarters. The Star in Frisco is the official name for the development that will house the Cowboys’ training complex, a 12,000-seat multi-use event center, an Omni hotel and a range of mixed-use elements on the property. The complex is located at the northwest corner of Warren Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway. The Cowboys expect to move into the complex in 2016.

615 South College

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Portman Holdings has shared its design details and renderings of 615 South College, a 19-story office tower in Uptown Charlotte. Portman has begun the permitting process and expects to break ground in June 2015. Travis Garland of Portman will work with Trinity Partners to lease and market the 370,000-square-foot tower, which is slated for a fourth quarter 2016 completion. The property will feature an elevated green plaza, two-story corner balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows, signage opportunities fronting I-277, a fitness center and a conference facility. The tower will be situated atop an underground parking garage. Architect John Portman & Associates is designing 615 South College to achieve LEED Gold certification.

Preston-Hollow-Village

DALLAS — New restaurant and retail leases have been signed in Phase I of Preston Hollow Village, a 42-acre mixed-use development in Dallas. The property is located at the northwest corner of Walnut Hill and Central Expressway. Phase I of the project is slated to open in early 2015, with Phase II groundbreaking scheduled for about the same time. A 14,000-square-foot Trader Joe’s and 75,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space will anchor Phase I. Dentist, doctors and other professional service firms will move into a 60,000-square-foot office building, which is on target to be completed in early 2015.

34-Prince-St-NYC

NEW YORK CITY — Co-developers Time Equities and Hamlin Ventures have acquired 34 Prince Street, the former convent and school of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral complex in Manhattan’s Northern Little Italy neighborhood, for $30.7 million. The joint venture plans to transform the property, which was built in 1825, into a seven luxury condominium residences and two townhomes. Designed by Marvel Architects, the renovated property will feature two townhomes ranging in size from 9,000 to more than 10,000 square feet, and loft residences ranging in size from 2,600 to nearly 5,000 square feet, with many featuring private outdoor space. CORE will handle the sales for the townhomes, which offer home customization options. This acquisition is the second development venture for the team. Its first project, 14 Townhouses, was completed in spring 2014.

Riverwalk Village

ROSWELL, GA. — Duke Land Group has unveiled preliminary plans for Riverwalk Village, a 104-acre mixed-use development in Roswell. The project will be located between Georgia 400 and Old Alabama Road. Approximately 43 percent of the land will be preserved as open space, including parks, public spaces, pedestrian-oriented zones and a system of walking and biking trails that will connect Riverwalk Village and surrounding neighborhoods to the Chattahoochee River. The project’s developers plan to construct open channel streams to an existing lake on the site, which will be surrounded with boardwalks, restaurants and retailers. The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) will review the proposed site plan, which calls for 1,500 residential units, including single-family attached, multifamily and active adult housing; 490,000 square feet of general commercial real estate including retail, restaurant, entertainment and grocery; 1.7 million square feet of office space; a 200-room hotel; and 200,000 square feet of civic and institutional space including the Swift School, a school for children with language-based learning differences. Pending zoning and permits, construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2015.

LOS ANGELES – The University of Southern California (USC) has completed its new Wallis Annenberg Hall at Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. The $40-million project features 88,000 square feet situated over five levels. The new building is near the USC Central Campus in Los Angeles. It will house broadcast network equipment, media classrooms and laboratories. The project was constructed by Bernards and designed by Dan Benjamin of Harley Ellis Devereaux. This is Bernards’ third major project with USC. The building was named for the benefactor, Wallis Annenberg, president of the Annenberg Foundation and the longest-serving USC trustee.

PERRIS, CALIF. – Duke Realty has announced plans to build a new 783,407-square-foot spec bulk warehouse building in the Inland Empire East submarket of Perris. The new building will be located near the Ramona Expressway and I-215. The building will be called Perris Logistics Center II. It is currently pre-leasing. The building is scheduled for completion in August 2015. Steve Bellitti and Thomas Taylor of Colliers serve as the leasing agents.

Berewick Town Center

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Pappas Properties has commenced construction on Berewick Town Center, a Harris Teeter-anchored shopping center in Charlotte’s Steele Creek neighborhood. The asset will be located at the intersection of Dixie River Road, Steele Creek Road and Shopton Road West. The $60 million Phase I of Berewick Town Center includes a town center structure with a 53,000-square-foot Harris Teeter, Walgreens drug store, retail space, restaurants and a hotel. Pappas Properties plans to deliver Phase I in summer 2016. Phase II will feature medical office space, office space, multifamily residences and additional retail space. Shelco is the general contractor, and Shook Kelley and LandDesign are providing architecture and engineering services for the project. Brian Roth of Pappas Properties is handling outparcel sales and office space interest for Berewick Town Center, while Gwen Glaeser of CNL represents the development and its retail and shop space leasing needs.
