ARLINGTON, VA. — Discount grocer Lidl US plans to open 50 new stores in nine states on the East Coast by the end of 2021. Arlington, Va.-based Lidl US will invest $500 million and hire 2,000 employees as part of the expansion. The footprints of the new stores will include six in Georgia, one in South Carolina, five in North Carolina, seven in Virginia, 10 in Maryland, six in New York, 10 in New Jersey, one in Delaware and four in Pennsylvania. Germany-based Lidl currently operates 11,000 grocery stores in 32 countries.

WINTER GARDEN, FLA. — Greystar Real Estate Partners LLC will develop Overture Hamlin, a 180-unit active adult seniors housing community in Winter Garden. The Charleston, S.C.-based developer expects to deliver the property in summer 2021. The Central Florida property will offer one- and two-bedroom floor plans. The community will feature a clubhouse with a private wine room, covered patio, pool, sun deck, dog park, community-friendly golf cart trails, fitness center, yoga studio, craft room, theater room and an activity lounge. The asset will be situated within Hamlin Town Center, 20 miles west of downtown Orlando.
HARBESON, DEL. — Developer J.G. Petrucci has completed PeachTree Health Group Rehabilitation Center, a $20 million seniors housing project in the southern Delaware city of Harbeson. The property features 78 assisted living units that will serve patients that are recovering from brain injuries. Cerminara Architect designed the project. Iron Hill Construction, J.G. CHANNELVIEW, TEXAS — Hunt Capital Partners has provided $9.8 million in federal low-income housing tax credit equity financing for the construction of The Hollows Apartments. The 192-unit affordable housing community will be located on a 7.5-acre site in Channelview, about 17 miles northeast of Houston. The Hollows will offer 36 one-bedroom, 84 two-bedroom, and 72 three-bedroom units restricted to households earning up to 30, 50 and 70 percent of the area median income. LDG Multifamily LLC is co-developing the project with HCHA Redevelopment Authority Inc., an affiliate of the Harris County Housing Authority. Kelly Grossman Architects LLC is designing the project. Construction is expected to begin in September and to be complete in March 2022.
Seefried Industrial, Crow Holdings to Develop 145,470 SF Amazon Delivery Station in Deer Valley, Arizona

DEER VALLEY, ARIZ. — Seefried Industrial Properties, along with a private equity real estate fund advised by Crow Holdings Capital, has acquired a 35-acre land site with plans to develop Project Andale, a last-mile delivery station in Deer Valley. Located at northeast corner Seventh Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road, the project will include a 145,470-square-foot standalone package delivery facility used to complement Amazon’s larger fulfillment center in west Phoenix. The property will feature more than 13,000 square feet of office and break room space, as well as parking for 780 delivery vans and 305 employee vehicles. Shell completion is slated for fourth-quarter 2021. Layton Construction is serving general contractor, Ware Malcomb is serving as architect and Hunter Engineering is serving as civil engineer.
BLOOMINGTON, IND. — The Annex Group has completed the development of Union at Crescent, a 146-unit affordable housing community in Bloomington near Indiana University. The eight-acre project features one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. Amenities include a community and business center, exercise facility and playground. The property features both affordable housing units as well as market-rate units. The affordable units are designated for residents who earn between 50 and 70 percent of the area median income. Finance partners include T&H Investment Properties, Indiana Housing Community Development Authority, R4 Capital and R4 Capital Funding. Axis Architecture + Interiors and Smith Brehob & Associates made up the design team. Crestline Communities will manage leasing efforts.
ATLANTA — Alliance Residential Co. will develop Broadstone at Pullman Yards, a planned 354-unit multifamily community in east Atlanta’s Kirkwood district. The developer expects to break ground this year and open the property in early 2022. The complex will offer studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. Unit interiors will include two-toned custom cabinetry, tile backsplashes, veined quartz countertops, matte black fixtures and electronic locks. Communal amenities will include a two-story clubroom with a demonstrator kitchen, lounge space, fitness center and a saltwater pool. Brock Hudgins Architects designed the community, which will be situated at 105 Rogers St. NE, four miles east of downtown Atlanta. Local media outlets reported last year that Atomic Entertainment sold the site within its Pratt-Pullman Yard redevelopment to Phoenix-based Alliance Residential.
TITUSVILLE, FLA. — Extended Stay America Inc. has opened Extended Stay America Titusville-Space Coast, a 124-room hotel in Titusville. The four-story building features complimentary Wi-Fi, cable TV, a fitness center, laundry room and a lobby with vending options. The rooms include fully equipped kitchens with full-size refrigerators, stovetops, cookware, utensils, dishes, pillowtop beds, recliners, a workspace and TV streaming capabilities. The property is located at 4835 Helen Hauser Blvd., 13 miles west of Kennedy Space Center.
MYSTIC, CONN. — Locally based Lattizorri Development has completed Harbor Heights, a 121-unit luxury apartment community in the coastal Connecticut city of Mystic. The property is part of the Perkins Farm master-planned community and offers one- and two-bedroom units with stainless steel appliances, nickel hardware and granite countertops. Amenities include a pool, outdoor grilling area, fitness center and a dog park. Rents start at $1,600 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $2,100 per month for a two-bedroom unit.
Brookfield Opens New Dick’s Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy Stores at Cumberland Mall in Atlanta

ATLANTA — Brookfield Properties has opened a new Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy at Cumberland Mall, an enclosed regional mall in Atlanta’s Cumberland-Galleria district. According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Dick’s Sporting Goods will occupy the 70,000 square feet formerly leased to Sears. The Golf Galaxy, which will be adjacent to the Dick’s Sporting Goods, will offer in-store services and apparel and footwear from companies such as DSG, Tommy Armour, CALIA by Carrie Underwood, Field & Stream, Fitness Gear, Nike, Adidas, Yeti, The North Face, Callaway and TaylorMade. Golf Galaxy is a subsidiary of Pittsburgh-based Dick’s Sporting Goods. The stores will also host a grand opening event beginning today. In early July, Brookfield unveiled plans to redevelop the eastern portion of Cumberland Mall into a mixed-use property featuring 445,000 square feet of office space, 312 multifamily residences, 31,200 square feet of retail and restaurant space and 10 bus bays. Brookfield hopes to complete Cumberland Mall’s phased redevelopment in 2025.
