SANTA FE, N.M. — Titan Development Real Estate Fund I has broken ground on Broadstone Rodeo, a multifamily project in Santa Fe. Developed along with Alliance Residential, Broadstone Rodeo is the sixth project for the partnership. Slated to open in 2019, the property will feature 188 apartments in a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts, gated entrances, a lounge, entertainment room, patios, covered parking, resort-style pool and fitness center. This investment will be the fund’s first in the multifamily sector, and the first significant Class A multifamily property to be built in Santa Fe in 20 years, according to the developer.

Kilroy Realty Purchases 2.5 MSF Life Science Development Site in South San Francisco for $308M

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. — Kilroy Realty Corp. has completed the acquisition of a development site, located at the intersection of Oyster Point and Marina boulevards in South San Francisco, for $308 million. The site is fully entitled for 2.5 million square feet. Kilroy Realty plans to develop Kilroy Oyster Point, a multi-phased life science development, on the site. Upon build out, the laboratory and office campus will encompass 11 buildings across the nearly 40-acre waterfront site.
MESA, ARIZ. — CyrusOne has acquired 68.2 acres of land within Mesa Elliot Technology Park in Mesa for the development of a cloud storage campus for the Fortune 1000. Upon completion, the campus will feature five buildings with up to 198 megawatts of critical power to power cloud computing services for clients. Details of the acquisition were not released. CyrusOne operates 45 data center facilities across the United States, Europe and Asia.
LEWISVILLE, TEXAS — Transcontinental Realty Investors Inc. and its subsidiary, Adobe Properties, have broken ground on Tower Bay Lofts, a 308-unit midrise multifamily community in Lewisville, a northern suburb of Dallas. The four-story property will feature amenities such as multiple pools, a fitness center, bocce court, storage units, bike rental service, coffee bar and a resident lounge with a bar. Units will range in size from 575 square feet to 1,604 square feet. A timeline for completion has not yet been established.
BLUE SPRINGS, MO. — LandMark Group Cos. is developing a $40 million manufacturing build-to-suit for Faurecia in the Kansas City metro area of Blue Springs. The 250,000-square-foot facility will be located on 25 acres of land adjacent to 20th Street on the north side of I-70. LandMark Construction, a division of LandMark Group Cos., will design and construct the property. Faurecia is an automotive technology company.
OWINGS MILLS, MD. — Kimco Realty Corp. has signed five new tenants to Mill Station, a $108 million open-air retail development in Owings Mills, located roughly 20 miles northwest of Baltimore. Lowe’s Home Improvement, Marshalls, HomeSense, Burlington and Five Below will join the anchor lineup at the development, located at the site of the former Owings Mills Mall. With the addition of the new retailers, the project is 75 percent preleased. Previously announced tenants include AMC Theatre and Costco, which is expected to open later this year. The other announced tenants are scheduled to open throughout the first half of 2019. At full build-out, Mill Station will total 620,000 square feet and will house up to 30 retailers and restaurants.
HOUSTON — Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, a subsidiary of Mexico-based Coca-Cola bottling partner Arca Continental, will build a $250 million bottling plant in Houston. The facility, which will be the first new Coca-Cola bottling plant built in the United States in a decade, will total approximately 1 million square feet. Construction of the plant is slated to begin this year, with operations expected to commence in early 2020.
ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA. — Summit Contracting Group has started construction on Antigua Apartments, a $22.6 million multifamily community located in St. Augustine. The project team includes Atlanta-based developer Catalyst Development Partners and Dallas-based architect Humphreys & Partners Architects. The 249-unit community will be located adjacent to Antigua on Anastasia Island, a master-planned mixed-use development that Catalyst is also developing. Antigua Apartments will feature a resort-style pool, outdoor kitchen with grilling stations, clubhouse with media lounge, coworking spaces, dog grooming spa, dog park, fitness center and green spaces. The development team plans to wrap up construction on the community in summer 2019.
LAFAYETTE, LA. — RISE: A Real Estate Co., in partnership with University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL Lafayette), has broken ground on a 600-bed student housing community located on the university’s campus in Lafayette. The five-building development will feature 5,000 square feet of retail space and will be catered toward upperclassmen. The community will feature two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments with full kitchens, bed-to-bath parity and in-unit washers and dryers. Community amenities will include a fitness center, business center, study rooms, game rooms, resident lounge, swimming pool, sand volleyball court and grilling stations. In addition, the community will offer direct connection to the UL Lafayette campus via a pedestrian bridge over an existing drainage canal. The Lemoine Co. is the project’s general contractor, and Niles Bolton Associates is the architect. The project will be financed through a partnership with Ragin’ Cajuns Facilities Inc., which will own the new community upon completion. The project is scheduled to deliver in advance of the fall 2019 semester.
YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO — The 125-room DoubleTree by Hilton Youngstown Downtown has opened in northeastern Ohio. Marshall Hotels & Resorts manages the 12-story hotel, while Pan Brothers Associates Inc. owns the property. Located at 44 E. Federal Plaza, the property was formerly known as the Stambaugh Building, an office building that opened in 1907. Hotel amenities include a business center, fitness center, Hilton’s Made Market and 5,300 square feet of meeting and event space. Guests can also dine at the Bistro 1907 restaurant.
