SANDY SPRINGS, GA. — Atlanta-based developer Selig Enterprises has unveiled the retail tenant lineup at City Springs, a $229 million mixed-use development in Sandy Springs, about 14 miles north of downtown Atlanta. Serving as the downtown district of Sandy Springs at the corner of Roswell Road and Mount Vernon Highway, City Springs will soon be home to four new restaurants and three health and wellness concepts totaling roughly 20,000 square feet. The new eateries will include Café Vendome, a bread and sandwich bistro with an existing location in Sandy Springs; Flower Child, a health-conscious restaurant chain serving vegetables, fruit, grains and healthy proteins; Nam Kitchen, a Vietnamese restaurant headed by Alex Kinjo of MF Sushi, executive chef Thuy Bich and Ahn Hoang from Nam Midtown; and The Select, an American comfort food concept that will feature an extensive wine list. The health and wellness outfits coming to City Springs will include Turn, the first indoor cycling and boot camp fitness studio from owner Ashley Francis; SculptHouse, a high-intensity, low-impact fitness concept with existing locations in Buckhead and Nashville; and Vida-Flo, a hydration treatment center staffed by licensed medical professionals. BOISE — L M Construction Co. has broken ground on a 119,200-square-foot industrial building in Boise. The facility will be located at 8485 Federal Way. The cross-dock, multi-tenant building is a design-build project for Brass Cap Development. The project is currently 50 percent pre-leased. The future tenant, Teffco, is currently headquartered in nearby Nampa. Teff is an ancient grain and the staple of Ethiopian and Eritrean diets. Teffco hires local Idaho farmers to raise Teff for these communities, supplying them with American-grown teff. The concrete tilt-up building boasts a clear height of 30 feet and includes an ESFR fire sprinkler system. The balance of the project’s divisibility can be as small as 14,900 square feet or as large as 59,600 square feet. The facility is scheduled for completion this October. It is situated directly across the street from Micron Technology and is visible from Interstate 84.
Restoration Hardware Opens 46,000 SF Home Furnishings Gallery in Portland’s Alphabet District

PORTLAND, ORE. — Restoration Hardware (RH) has opened a 46,000-square-foot location in Portland’s historic Alphabet District. The four-story building features installations of home furnishings in a galley setting, with entire floors dedicated to RH Interiors, RH Modern and RH Outdoor. RH Portland also includes professional design services in a studio environment. Design elements include a 40-foot skylight, 21 crystal helix chandeliers and a landscaped rooftop park with panoramic views of downtown Portland.
KEMAH, TEXAS — Tennessee-based retail developer GBT Realty Corp. has completed The Shoppes of Kemah, a $16 million retail center in Kemah, about 35 miles southeast of Houston. Shadow-anchored by Walmart, the 79,000-square-foot center is 96 percent leased to tenants such as Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less, Ulta Beauty and Rack Room Shoes. Approximately 12,000 vehicles pass the site, which is situated along Deke Slayton Highway, on a daily basis.
CHICAGO — White Oak Realty Partners and Crayton Advisors are developing a 275-unit apartment property in Chicago’s West Loop. Known as Milieu, the 19-story development is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2019. The project will include a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units in addition to 13,000 square feet of retail space. The property will be built in partnership with Pacific Life Insurance Co., Power Construction and a design team including architect Fitzgerald Associates, interior designer Patina Collection|Design and engineering firms WSP, WMA and Eriksson Engineering.
ORLANDO, FLA. — Ability Housing, in conjunction with the City of Orlando, has started construction of Village on Mercy, a 166-unit affordable housing project located along Mercy Drive in Orlando. The Florida Housing Finance Corp., Bank of America NA, Enterprise Community Investment Inc. and the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) provided funding for the $27.4 million project. The community will be certified by the Florida Green Building Coalition and will feature a community center, playground, fitness trail and recreation space along Lake Lawne. All of the apartments will be reserved for residents earning 60 percent or less of the area median income (AMI), and half of the units will provide housing for formerly homeless individuals and families. Construction on the project is expected to last 18 months. Ebert Norman Brady Architects is the architect for Village on Mercy, and Sauer Inc. is the general contractor.
PORTLAND, ORE. — Curio Collection by Hilton has opened The Porter, a 297-room hotel in Portland. The new property is located at 1355 SW 2nd Ave. Amenities include a library, heated indoor pool with Jacuzzi, sauna room, steam room, meditation spa, locker rooms and 24-hour fitness center. Each guest room offers complimentary Wi-Fi, imperial bath products, a mini bar stocked with local products, and a complimentary selection of coffee and tea. Union Investment owns the property, which Widewaters Group manages.
LOS ANGELES — L’Occitane en Provence, a prestige beauty brand based in Los Angeles, has introduced the L’Occi Truck, a traveling shop experience for the brand. The retail store on wheels presents a new direct-to-consumer shopping model. Inspired by the vintage French Citroën H Van, often used by small-town French farmers, the retro truck is cladded in L’Occitane’s signature Provençal sunshine yellow and is approximately 16 feet long by 7 feet high. Two openings, featured at the truck’s side spanning across the entire length and rear, invite customers to view an internal shelving display filled with an assortment of product as well as relevant campaign imagery. A tester-rail and foldable display counter anchored under the truck’s side opening will feature an interactive station for passerby to test-and-play with product.A large exterior screen will display video content showcasing the Provençal lifestyle and brand history. At each destination, beauty associates will accompany the truck to guide the guests through demonstrations. The truck debuted in Washington, D.C. at the Cherry Blossom Festival on April 7. The L’Occi Truck will offer support for future store closings due to renovations.
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Public Storage has opened a 900-unit self-storage facility at 10219 Bryton Corporate Center Drive in Huntersville, roughly 15 miles north of Charlotte. The facility is located adjacent to a Walmart Supercenter and Interstate 485. The three-story building offers indoor, climate-controlled units ranging in size from 25 square feet to 300 square feet. Packing, moving and storage supplies are also offered at the location. Glendale, Calif.-based Public Storage is the world’s largest owner and operator of self-storage facilities with 2,386 locations around the country.
COTTAGE GROVE, MINN. — Hillcrest Development LLLP and The Opus Group have broken ground on the first building at Southeast Industrial Park in Cottage Grove, about 25 miles southeast of Minneapolis. Completion of the 161,000-square-foot industrial building is slated for this September. North Star Sheets, a corrugated paper manufacturer, will occupy the building. This is the first phase in a multiphase, rail-served industrial development undertaken by Opus and Hillcrest. An additional 24 acres remain undeveloped on the site, which Hillcrest owns, allowing for 300,000 to 350,000 square feet of future development. Hillcrest has retained Eric Rossbach of Colliers International to market the site for lease. Opus Development Co. is the developer, Opus Design Build is the design-builder and Opus AE Group is the architect and structural engineer of record.
